Bah, had to go to school and I was left with the bloody last(?) mission.

I've been out of the loop on online for awhile. Is six pooling cheesing? What else in considered cheesing?
3.30MBs!!! YES I will be finishing WoL shortly.

Anything that beats you is either cheesing or running a hack. But when you win, it's all pure skill.

We evolve... different from the ling we were a minute before. Little by little, we swarm a little harder with every buff. That's how zerg works! We will burn a hole in space, and in that hole we will put the replays and macros of our friends. Those who macro'd before us, and those who will macro after. That's Tengen Star, that's Gurren Craft. OUR STAR IS THE CRAFT... THAT CRAFTS THE HEAVENS!
Its finally done.

Edit: I suck at SC. I need to practice a lot. . . .

I'm really glad that the launch of this game has been without issue. Compared to the launches of WoW and Diablo 3 and, more recently, SimCity this has just been an awesome launch. As seamless and painless as the WoL launch.

EDIT: Can I get an invite to the GAF clan? I'm Ajax 156

Bah, I have no money to get the actual game and I'm kinda jealous here, I'm stuck in the EG lair and everybody's playing and I can't... nooo!

If you're in the US, I have a spare physical copy I could mail you.

I am but I have to scan papers and send it to Blizzard since I don't think that'd be compatible with a European Battlenet account but sure if it works that'd be great :)

Seems to be about 11 hours worth of gameplay in the campaign if you don't retry missions or try to farm all the cheevos on the first go.

That seems about right. Played it on Hard so missions took a little longer than normal and I had to reload about twice throughout.

Oooh I would like an invite. I would have to go online to get my name.?
the GAF clan I made is on EU; the group is free to join though, just search for neogaf. The clan is a seperate group called GAF and I'll have to invite you.

You on US or EU? I'm EU so I mad the GAF clan there, dnno if there is one for US.

Oh oh oh! I want a clan invite! Koji #148

Profit: You can switch regions back and forth, you can still create a US user name and join the clan and still main on EU and just check back every now and again.

is it just me or are they missions actually downloading before you start them?
the load times are way too long and I get messages like 150/176MB in the bottom right corner.
I got the digital version of HOTS, or is this maybe because of the f2p system?

Did you fully install the game before playing? You're able to start playing before it is finished installing, it just installs in the background as you play.

For people on US; Aylinato is the owner of the GAF clan over there, those who want an EU invite to the clan just shoot me a PM.

Been so busy with work that this snuck up on me. Pretty much just bought it for the campaign and despite the cringeworthy dialogue, the actual missions have been pretty fun so far.

I need 15GB free on C: in order to install HotS even though my Starcraft II installation isn't on C:? GG Blizz.

My SCII install wasn't on C: and I don't have 15GB free on there either. It still installed for me on my D: drive. Sucks for you :(

PM me your address. If you enable/wait for Global Play, you should be fine to use my copy.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
5 more hours...

Now nothing happens when I load the game client. Updater launches, it closes and I get a "checking for updates" window, then that closes and nothing. Nice work!

Yesterday I learned that I was not the only one mainly interested in the SP campaign.

Now I would like to hear how the campaign stacks up?

Story aside, how is the gameplay? Improved?

Do you have a digital copy or do you have a physical? If you have a physical and have downloaded it, remove the DVD from the drive...

Yeah... I know... I had that problem in WoL.

Well, multiplayer gameplay is way better now.

The campaign supposedly has a lot of variety and also feels different than WoL and gets better after the first few missions (which are more tutorial-like).

If the install is finished, you should be able to just boot up the game and be good to go.

How can multiplayer gameplay be better now? Haven't MP been like a whole e-sport for years now? Expand and defense it and all that.

So far, the unit upgrades feel more fun than the Terran ones and the mini-missions they use to allow you to demo the different upgrades is a fun and awesome idea.

Mission design is pretty good too. Feels a lot smoother somehow and I do get a nice, swarm-y feeling from it.

The main story (so far) hasn't been as incredibly cheesy as before but it still doesn't take itself too seriously.

They're taking a page out of the SC:BW playbook and allowing OP units in. At least, that's the way I look at it.

Medivacs with speed boost and Widow mines/Hellbats for Terrans
Vipers with Abduct and Blinding Cloud
Protoss with SkyToss.

Any of those individually would be ridiculous but the combination of all of them is great and creates really interesting scenarios.

The new units and changes to old units make the game a lot more interesting. They raise the skill ceiling by increasing viable strategic options and micro opportunities. The races have also had a lot of flaws addressed so they feel more complete.

The changes to the way the different match ups play are always way more fun to watch.

That is good to hear. My prejudice is that zerg are kinda boring to play compared to Terran and Protoss.

Had a similar issue earlier today. Had to manually shut down Agent and Blizzard Launcher in the task manager and it worked ok thereafter.
