I have no interest in taking part in conversations where you can't even try to discuss things in good faith without risking a ban, so no worries, and this is coming from someone who is a complete and ardent feminist/gay/trans rights person. I just don't believe that should give me cover to stereotype people that I disagree with, making the situation worse by demonizing moderates, putting them into into little boxes and sides because that makes it easier to dismiss them and spread falsehoods of my own all for the sake of 'winning'. Those ends justify the means dolts can have fun and place themselves into their echo chamber thread, an increasingly warped masturbatory effigy in service of their own egos and little else, where they encourage the creation an enemy they have no choice but to destroy while the other side does the same, but the means always justify the means and I have better things to do - like talk with you guys.

I make no apologies for the posts that got me banned, because I did nothing wrong.

*cough*

But seriously, fuck em, I won't wade back into that mine field. :|

Those threads aren't worth it, they really are a mine field. Nothing ever comes out of those threads anyway, they always devolve into the exact same arguments with neither side making any ground.

Anyways welcome back!

Golden's wonderful farewell message (with a sprinkling of "I'll be back")

Sup guys, its Golden who was progamer even 10hours ago.
excuse my english, but i'm glad to i can write it without translator.
(at least you can understand, right? :D)

My Progamer life has been finished after today match against YoDa.
was kinda pathetic perform. i'm so sorry about it if your eyes has been broken
but i don't have any regret and i'm so happy about i ran incredible period
after i arrived Germany. it was pleasure to do progaming again after retire in
last november.

also i would like to sorry you again that i made you confusing with retirement in 2013 nov.
i heard i could join military in beginning of this year. so i retired, but it was incorrect
and my join military date is correctly december 9. so i back to progamer.
but sadly its real time to farewell to you guys. i ABSOLUTELY join military in Dec9.
if South Korea and North Korea unification before it. (lol, kidding)

when i arrived Germany, i didn't expected that i hit 2times Ro4 in WCS and Runner-up in
ESET Masters. but i did it and hit my best-time of my progaming life as well
i did i thought i ever could. unfortunately didn't get any wins in 2014 but i think its enough for me (person's greed is infinity right? so its kinda how to get happiness :D)

as i said in last interview after WCS match, i would back to in eSports scene after finish military (2016-09-08) not as player, my currently dream is make my own big eSports festival like Dreamhack, IEM and others. (thats why i hosted tournaments in beginning of this year, first step! :D) so i would back to eSports and planning studying abroad in Germany. (interesting with hosting tournaments, and casting)

i was really happy to living in Germany, USA and i learned a lot from here.
i was a guy who only know gaming without planning future, but i changed here
to a guy who can see future. so i never regret to decided to play in outside of Korea!
i was really happy to meet you guys and
i was really honor to show my plays to you guys.
thanks for like my games, and cheered for me i was almost cry when i got standing ovation even i lost YoDa 0-3 with bad perform. and got many good words, cheering during gaming life.
i'm gonna keep it in my heart, and never forget love you guys ♥

its so embarrassing to say retire again, someone won't believe it.
so i won't say retire again. i would like to say it's break from sc2 cause of military.
who knows future?

So Thoorin was a big giant baby the other day on The Late game, you might recall him as the esports historian writer guy who got fired from IEM for making all of those disparaging remarks about Poland just before he was set to go work there at an IEM event.

Anyway, on the show he was semi frequently taking pot shots at Destiny which eventually led to this exchange

http://www.twitch.tv/lycangtv/b/575568036?t=1h42m

and

http://www.twitch.tv/lycangtv/b/575568036?t=1h46m40s

Which all seemed fine and good, Destiny didn't care much but Thoorin stopped saying anything much after that and apparently in Skype chat was basically like 'fuck Steven and the host guy' which led to this exchange where he went full retard, claiming that Destiny said things he never said and purposefully tried to egg Thoorin on to get him fired from IEM.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6TeurUSHAw

Here is the original Poland incident in full

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4wVBu7n6aw&feature=youtu.be&t=6m40s

If anything Destiny was throwing him life lines, and in no way was he doing anything other than having, y'know, a conversation.

Buying plane ticket tonight. Will be my first time in LA, can't wait!!

Have fun. LA isn't a super great place to visit, but there are fun spots, especially if you're going with friends.

1 friend lives in LA, one friend (that works w/ Team Liquid and has a pass to blizzcon) lives in San Fransisco. We'll be going to to WCS and hanging out with the one friend who lives in LA later.

And Thoorin just got fired from Ongamers. I hope, first of all, that Thoorin gets professional help for his very clear emotional issues, and secondly that this helps Richard Lewis wake up and provide a more even handed view of Thoorin. Granted maybe Thoorin knew he wasn't being renewed and that is why he was such an asshole on the show. Either way:

Today is my final day working for OnGamers. I began there in December of 2013 and have very much enjoyed the 10 months I have been employed there. The position I had gave me an unparalleled amount of freedom, both in terms of working hours and creatively, to construct and publish my work according to my vision. I think of that time-span as the most productive of my 13 year career working on esports content professionally. My position at OnGamers was very much a dream job scenario and so I would like to thank them whole-heartedly for giving me that opportunity.
I am not retiring and my interest in producing esports content has not changed. Right now, I have nowhere to publish my content and nobody to employ me to have the resources to produce it, but in time I imagine both of those problems will take care of themselves. For now, all of my work and series should be considered canceled or discontinued, until further notice. That means there will be no more Summoning Insight, at least with my involvement.
Best of luck to my colleagues and friends at OnGamers, it was a pleasure to work alongside them and I felt as if we always engendered a good sense of camaraderie. Thanks to Travis, Matt, Rod, Cody, Hunter, Nilu, Kelsey, Daniel S., Daniel Y., Sully, Adam and Andreja for all the good times and I'm confident you'll all continue to be successful within the esports realm.
If you've enjoyed my work then follow them and check out theirs, in case you've missed it:

Thorin

Destiny caused him lose his job about as much as your friend causes you your failed exam when he calls you to have a couple of beers the day before (swiped from Reddit) and even that is being generous to Thoorin. Destiny was having a discussion and was repeatedly offering Thoorin outs to his comments. The fact that Thoorin legitimately blames Destiny for somehow making him say those things then and now displays single digit emotional maturity.

Blizzards comments on lotv have all been encouraging, including coming as close as they possibly can to saying 'fuck protoss'.

Yeah I've liked everything they've had to say so far.

And I just realized we're less than a month away from the likely LotV reveal.

The thing that really tells me LotV is getting revealed this blizzcon is the burred out portrait from the virtual ticket goodies

there's some spoiler portrait they don't want us to see yet and it'll be unlocking after blizzcon starts soo why spoiler it if it doesn't have something to do with a blizzcon reveal

lotv trailer in the opening ceremony, confirmed

exhibition games at blizzcon will be lotv games, confirmed

that is a badass looking Artanis. he should be playing a key role in LotV

Bah. He feels like a loser in SC2. But of course that applies to every character in the game :/

Anyway, i reckon the other might be Zeratul, since he is also supposed to play a big role, if i recall correctly. And if plans haven't changed.

Syf

not sure why they'd blur a portrait of Zeratul though

but maybe

and yeah I'm really hoping they make the characters likable in this campaign lol, the only real encounter with Artanis in SC2 so far has been in Zeratul's vision when all the protoss die

I'm continually amazed how no one gives a shit about that game. It's a Blizzard game. It shouldn't have less players than a Dead Island MOBA.

Yeah that is true, though they made sure that all 'notable personalities' got in, and it has not replicated the the numbers that Hearthstone got at all. People watched it for a week on twitch and now it just chills in like a few hundred viewers at best. Hearthstone was getting pretty consistent top 5 numbers all the way to release and is now like the 3rd biggest performer on the site.

I dunno, maybe it will go live eventually and everyone will love it, but all of the metrics for it thus far have been pretty poor. I don't know what HotSgaf has said about it, but the vibe from other places seems to be 'I'd just not remotely ready yet'.

And for a game that really wants to make itself about finding new twists on maps, their map rollout has been completely static since they started letting people in. I feel like it might be another classic case of Blizzard not giving a team the resources they need.

Also, guess who is playing for Fnatic on their Heroes of the Storm team, second from the left!

yeah viewership will probably go up once people can actually play and learn from watching. til then there's no real reason to watch aside from seeing what the game is like, and lots of people got that done in the first few days of it being broadcasted

it's nani isn't it?

No it's just a hero brawler since with no items and no gold it has extremely lower engagement.

Right but then it hinges even more on the maps, something Blizzard emphasized, and that would be a manpower issue.

Heroes of the Storm is actually quite fun. They've just went online on live servers and the game is still in the "Technical Alpha" phase, so it's definitely not finished. The netcode needs work as it's spiking from time to time, the engine is SC2 with modifications but it's not fully optimized yet from what I can see. There are rough edges, with placeholder icons, missing hero skins, some problems with progression systems and hero/skin/mount pricing.

However, I've been in the Alpha for a couple of months already and it shapes up very nicely. It's not quite ready for release yet, but Blizzard just added 2 new cool heroes (Anub'arak and Azmodan) and made a polish pass over everything. THe most noticeable is the Ui update and graphical updates. If they keep up at this rate, we might get another good MOBA game (or Hero-Brawler as Blizzard puts it...).

That being said, Heroes and StarCraft are both made by Team 1 in Blizzard as far as I recall, I hope that doesn't impact the development of LotV. I'd love to see some new units, meta change and an epic campaign.
