seeing more games have native steam controller support is hopefully a sign that the controller is doing well for valve.

At the very least, it appears that the time invested in natively implementing the controller appears to be low enough that more devs are doing it.

Or it's a sign Valve is pushing developers to include native support, so that they can sell more controllers :p

I find the audio logs in RotTR more interesting but why oh why didn't they adopt the much better method of them playing in the background while I still can play? Just looking at a screen gets boring.

I'm in two minds over the Monthly Bundle

I sort of want Alien Isolation...but i'm also a massive wimp when it comes to scary games

And the fact that AI is an early unlock makes me think the rest of the games will be a bit shit

I bought it for AI but the last few months have been great, TALOS! RUST! (i didnt have these) Also $15/month is like 1 lunch eating out so I can justify that.

I modded out the Alien because I"m kind of a bitch. The godless killing machines androids are enough for me.

Can't believe there are games that still do that.

Seriously? I mean, the game is tense as hell but come on, man up! Also, wouldn't that mean that you just walked through huge chunks of the game without any threat? Honestly, you ruined the game for yourself.

I really really want to try Steam Controller before I would even consider buying it. I already have enough bad blind purchases under my belt and I don't want another. 55€ (plus 15€ or so for shipping I think) for an unknown thing is a bit too steep for me.

If only that XCOM 2 pre-order deal would have worked with GMG pre-orders as well, I would have probably bitten in that case.

Yeah.....I'm good with that.

Life is too short to be shitting your pants. Plus I haven't finished yet, but I'm enjoying the game a bit more now.

A little over 3 hour until the next monthly bundle. Subscribed only because I had the10% coupon but this is kinda exciting. Now to wait for the disappointment.

I decided to grab it mainly for Alien: Isolation, so as long as it isn't completely terrible then I'll be happy. I'm kinda sad I missed out on last months bundle though (due to Talos Principle and Grim Fandango remastered), should not have stopped my subscription before that one ..

The trick is to play sans pants.

Finished the first
optional "tomb", the ship in the ice caves
in RotTR. It's small but the pay-off/loot at the end is actually worthwhile.
Now that I completed the intro of the game
Syria/England
, the game feels more similar to the prequel. No gun combat for now but the changes to the formula have been not drastic.

i remember that time when lara spared all of the tigers and dinosaurs and snakes and people she would encounter in the first like 8 main games, the two coop loot shooters, and her mobile debut

I, too, am shocked and appalled by her unrelenting brutality in the last couple of Tomb Raider games

Hey guys, this might be the wrong place to post, but I'm needing some assistance from some Source Film Maker experts.

An upcoming video project of mine is in dire need of a 10-15 second SFM clip (this seems to be the best method we could come up with for the piece), though my 3D experience is not too great. I mostly design/direct/edit/act/etc. I tried following the tutorials and was able to successfully place models onto the stage/add some basic animation, but given our deadline for this next project, I'm honestly not too certain I can do this myself, as I am currently editing and designing the assets for the remainder of the video. If there is anyone who knows SFM well and wants to help with a fairly basic animation, please let me know via PM. I'm desperate and you'd absolutely get credit/compensation/whatever you prefer! We just need some help at this point.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46EW8Fw0XNE was the last video I helped create, and it seemed to do decently well for our first upload. It doesn't have SFM at all, obviously, but this next video essentially requires it at this point (part of a fake game trailer, basically. Trying to keep it all secret!).

So on XCOM 2 one of my rookies didn't make it to the evac point in time and got captured. A bit later I got a VIP rescue mission and guess who the VIP was? Neat.

Also, I made Charlie "Blockhead" Brown. He became a specialist which really made me wish I could rename his gremlin Snoopy.

Oh, also I didn't know the game had cards. I got an Archon Foil.

That too. Not sure when I'll play it though, I'm not too good with horror games. I get antsy just exploring caves in Rise of the Tomb Raider so I'm not sure I'm cut out for horror games.

steam controller is pretty dope, although its not the controller to replace your xbox/ps controller on pc. sometimes a regular controller is just better imo, or hell sometimes it just doesn't work that great with a game with no controller support (the reason it was fucking made in the first place) for example, scribblenauts you have to open the keyboard a lot to type words but you can't do it all that comfortable, and also while yea you can play D4 with the controller i thought imo you're just better off playing with your mouse.

still waiting for a way to customize controller inputs without having to go into BPM for emulators and stuff that doesn't like opening through steam tho (like blade & soul)

did you tell him the words he wanted to hear, you said it didn't you, boss?

yeah but what if you dont even have a mouse or keyboard connected to your PC 99% of the time, like i do?

the controller isn't meant to replace the mouse and keyboard that's in front of you. It's really for crazy people like me who have their PCs connected to a TV and are treating the thing like a media device and/or a console.

Otherwise yeah of course the m&kb is the superior option the majority of the time. If youre already sitting at a desk and you have a m&kb in front of you naturally you should use those instead

that the thing im getting at though, its good for that, but not great. there are some games that simply don't work that well with it and the controller could work fine, its just valve doesn't implement the options into it. 2 examples; i should be able to open up and close the keyboard with a single button if i want to, also i should be able to re calibrate the gyro with a press of a button as well like the ps4 controller does with gyro typing and splatoon does in game but valve doesn't allow me to do either of those things.

Vulkan is apparently coming "soon" to Talos Principle, and I'd guess other stuff

that looks like the star trek guy whos always super srs, is that suposed to be him?

well to be fair to valve they've been constantly updating the controller and its capabilities. It's already doing much more now than it did day one and they are pushing out new features and updates on about a weekly basis.

I've found typing with the controller to be pretty easy but i get the gyro reset stuff. The gyro seems to get sloppy faster than i would like

You can type with the controller at the press of one or two buttons depending on what you are doing. At any time you can press both back and guide buttons to bring up the keyboard. I used this a lot in Deus Ex for password / user entry stuff. In windows, you can press the analogue stick in to bring up the keyboard at any time.

Why does Robo-Spock have a Goatee?

No idea. Maybe trying to imitate a particular person but I don't recall the goatee. Perhaps an attempt of Croteam to add some swag?
