What's wrong with my music section? I wanted to see which games I own a soundtrack from, but I see a lot of weird shit that I've never seen or heard before. I blame stuff like Counter Strike Source that seems to download random audio, how can I filter that crap away?

I really didn't expect a steam sale today.
Is Endless Legend good? It's cheapish, and I want a fantasy strategy game.

Very, very interesting thing I just learned. In the
Soviet Base
in RotTR performance tanked heavily to a fluctuating 35-55frps.
I opened up Afterburner and one thing caught my eye. VRAM usage was at a whopping 4000MB... on a 3,5+0,5 GB 970 that spells possible trouble. So I left all settings untouched (maxed) but only dialed Texture Quality from Very High to High and whammy! Stable 60 frames at sub-3GB VRAM usage. Weird that the gulf between one step is over 1GB. Really weird.

I envy 8GB 390 users :( Nvidia you stingy bastar...
At this point I just have to assume that some people only want Patriots because it was cancelled.
It's more wishing for something viewers made up in their minds than anything substantial really. What has been shown was a succession of highly scripted sequences. And that also had very little reminiscent of the old Rainbow Six titles.
This might just be the most bored I've ever been in my life.

Someone stream xcom or something
You know what they say. Life and existence is one of the most fascinating events in all of the universe. It's not that you are bored, it's that you are boring ;)
(Look up some sports fails, helps me :) )

Endless Legend is really, really good.

I have no interest in 4x games and it still managed to suck me in, played 30hrs of it.

gimme a hug o/

Psst, you can kill me in XCOM, if you want ;)

/hug. And im not putting gaf names in my xcom guys, they are too cool to have a bunch of nerd names.

They will have Transformers names.

Because im a nerd

My second playthrough of Dead Money has taken a bizarre turn. I now have a baby Yao Guai cub, via the More Perks mod. Running around with this thing setting off the Vera Keyes hologram (who's mistaken it for her dead lover Sinclair) is highly amusing.

Definitely a greater sense of satisfaction after beating missions in XCOM 2. Haven't even been save-scumming. This game rocks outside the performance issues.

So the Thin Men
are actually vipers? Never would've guessed.

Are the soldiers you get after you finish the first "real" mission (the first with 4 guys) always the same, or was it just a coincidence that each leveled up to a different class (specialist, grenadier, sharpshooter)?

That's what I got.

Also got far enough along that autopsies became instant. Hooray for not wasting resources on them!

I won this in a modbot giveaway thanks to Kurt Russel. It's an utterly pleasantly presented puzzled in the style of Lyne/Kami/Strata etc. There's a bunch of white/black tiles & your goal is to make 'em all white by tracing a single line through tiles (flipping them each time you cross the tile). Like all of these puzzlers, sounds simple, but the devil's in the detail of the mechanics & the quality of the puzzles.

This game's nails the difficulty of the puzzles. I've worked on puzzle level design & its damn hard. This gets it - easy is easy, and then blam, a new mechanic is drip-fed in just at the right time to take it to the next level.

Sparsely presented, straight to the point, and a thoroughly tough puzzle game. Thanks, Kurt Russel!

Really does look like a combination of those three puzzlers you mentioned. Wish listed - I'll probably buy before the sale's end, it's only like CDN$0.65. Can't say no to thank. Thanks for the little review.

Scrap Mechanic shifts 100,000 copies after two weeks on Early Access

Scrap Mechanic, for those unaware, is a neat multiplayer sandbox game about building and crafting and steering clear of angry robots that jumped from Steam Greenlight to Early Access on January 20. It’s since proved rather popular there, having sold over 100,000 copies in just over a fortnight.

In Scrap Mechanic, the aim of the game is to wander around its open world, gathering objects and building shelters, vehicles and contraptions. Neat gadgetry can also be equipped to your wares that allow it to come to life. Think Mechano mixed with Transformers set against a gorgeous vibrant cartoon backdrop and you’re somewhat on the right track.

After Scrap Mechanic’s impressive start to its Early Access career, Kacper Antonius, the CEO of developer Axolot Games, had this to say: “We're so happy and amazed that our community has grown so fast in such a short time. Scrap Mechanic is still in development but we already have a big, supportive and passionate audience, which really motivates us to make Scrap Mechanic the best game we possibly can.

"That's the best way we can give back to our players.”

In its current Early Access guise, Scrap Mechanic offers its players Creative mode, however Axolot are hard at work developing Survival mode which will include a day and night cycle and “deadly” enemies to fight or flee from, among other features.

If youre going to restart after each dead soldier in a xcom game youll never finish a xcom game
It only happened on the mission with the power core. I wasn't starting the real missions with a death in the family. Right now I'm cycling through missions before being forced to go to the Black Site.
