Started playing Cognition a few days ago, it's pretty good wonky animations aside. Though the lack of mood continuity or possibly poor VO direction is grating!

I do when I very occasionally want to run a game through the TV from my laptop rather. It saves having to remove the other HDMI inputs I already have in (and may want to use while the game is running).

Lots of exciting news the last few days for pc owners, trust ubisoft to bring me down. In addition to the stick of truth coming along at a last date, looks like Ubisoft is going back and forth on the release date of Assassin's Creed 4 again.

I don't even get Ubi sometimes. They want us to use uplay and take them seriously that they're working harder on making pc versions acceptable, but then they can't stick the normal release date. I'm not even sure what
means. I mean ,they're building the game on a pc right? Can't be that hard to do simultaneously. Just sounds like lower priority until console version is shipped. Blah.

God damn these bundles, I'm too addicted hoarding steam games now, might as well buy every steam game down the line, basically I'm commited to do it at this pace.

Good thing I live in...wait. Nope, I'm in europe haha. Even a bigger kick in the nuts that's it's only specifically where I live. At least with South Park they're just saying it. With Black Flag, they said it was probable, then the game director went back on it and denied it, and now the community manager is refusing to say anyway because apparently it'll be taken as a negative delay by the media regardless, so they may as well just say nothing.
This is the quote that gets me, in response to why are they being so difficult about just saying when it's coming out. I'm not sure how this logic works: so no release date should ever be announced? Whuu? The guy is being a bit subversive too, I think he's probably well aware that PC gamers are annoyed since it seems Ubi told some of the gaming press that PC version would probably be out in December, which wouldn't be in line with current gen OR next gen versions, while claiming it'll be out later because the effort involved with the pc version is that of the next gen versions. I don't mind the game not coming out the first week of November, it's more if it launches past the date of the ps4/xbox one versions.
That remains to be seen. History suggests that the game should still be a Steamworks title given it was announced as such and Ubi in the past has preferred to not force Uplay upon its external partners (the most recent example being CoJ: Gunslinger).
You could use a US VPN to unlock/play the game early. Australia will probably be lumped in with the rest of PAL Land so it's what I'll be doing.
I think it has as much to do with technical difficulties as with financial reasons. The PC version of GTA is in basically the same situation, except Rockstar decided not to announce anything officially, but basically the idea is to get the game out on consoles first where it's harder to pirate and then when sales have been satisfactory, release it on PC.

Aw I know man, I'm just wound up over it haha. I get all the reasons, but that doesn't make them any good to legit paying pc gamers, and when your annoyed it's easy to sit and pick holes in their strange little justifications to make yourself feel better haha.

But dude, I've heard those filthy HDMI ports can be used to steal my credit card info. There's no way I'm getting near them, not gonna risk that!

It's the principle of it though. A normal Tuesday-Friday difference in release I can understand, but delays beyond that is just stupid. There's no reason for it.

Put this in my veins now - I played this way back when my ISP has some sort of streaming videogame rental technology but it always crashed at some point near the end so I never finished it. I need this so hard and so bad I don't even know if I can wait but I have to.
