Oh, so you, the Master Account, the one with all the games that will be shared with others, is the one that have to type in your login information on the other machines?

That's great. Nobody will want to risk their accounts sharing it with random people on the internet, and if they do, they risk losing their accounts.

Exactly. It makes sense from a business standpoint. Otherwise people could just "rent" games for free.

Escape Goat got a massive 17 meg update and now works on x64 bit systems.

And my save from the Stand Alone version I downloaded from IndieSomething works. Great!

Well that took what? An hour?

That wasn't a mix up, that was a clear statement: "You won't get Steam keys from bundle purchases."

What a way to needlessly turn their potential customers against them. I'd still be wary in the future.

Haven't played the game, but if Conan O'Brien quick look is to be believed, there's some stuff bordering on torture porn in the QTE events - not sure how old your son is, but there's definitely stuff there that's not safe for kids.
I'm playing it right now (well, not now), and this is definitely true. Unless your son is comfortable with graphical gore scenes (and you are comfortable with him watching them), I'd tell him to skip it until he's older.

Still, it's an amazing game so far. Jshackles' son has some good taste!

I need to be cheered up tonight, Steam Bros.

Here is my list of (some of the) games I have started and have less than fifty percent achievements in.

I need help choosing something to play tonight.

Anodyne
Audiosurf
Edge
Hack, Slash, Loot
Hard Reset
Jamestown
Revenge of the Titans
Rush
Sanctum
Scoregasm
Sequence
Titan Attacks
Trine

Just got in to the Family Share Beta, now how do I grant a friend access to my games? or at the moment is only for beta users only?

Trine is pretty relaxing.
Jamestown is a fun bullet hellpurgatory shooter.
Hard Reset is an oldschool FPS.
Sequence is a good rhythm game.
It all depends on what cheers you up, really.

I'd play some Audiosurf with a good Creedence album as soundtrack. Cosmo's Factory is good ol' rock in its purest form.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
Family Sharing is super legit. You guys aren't going to be sharing your accounts with random people, though.

Maybe Trine? It has a beautiful artstyle. Anodyne has a sad music and tone so that won't cheer you up. Audiosurf would be legit guess, bang that game with your best music and you should have good time. Don't know much about the other games.

I am pretty much on steam 24/7 (i guess I am not PLAYING anything a lot of the time) but my family probably has no idea how any of this works, so I will keep it that way.

I know what all of the games are, I've played them all in some form.

I just need to pick one to finish up (or do enough damage to remove one from my "Achievements < 50%" list).

Do not play Hack, Slash, Loot if you wish to feel happy
Haha, it's not that bad. An interesting different take on the roguelike formula.

A word of advice for people playing Escape Goat. Crank the music volume up in the option menu since apparently it's set to 0 as default. And the music is too good to miss out on.

Rather disappointing Steam weekend deals this time. Hopefully GOG will have some cool weekend sale tomorrow so I can waste my money (like a Ubisoft sale, I really want to get the entire Might and Magic collection).

This Steam sharing thing sounds crazy... and I still don't understand a thing of how it works.

From my experience, I would play in the following order if you are looking to finish or complete them 100%:

Anodyne/Audiosurf
Sequence
Trine
EDGE
Revenge of the Titans
Jamestown (if you want get all achievements you need to play the campaign locally with 4 friends)

Audiosurf, I would play in-between games or if you want to listen to some music.

I just tested out Family Sharing. Works like a charm and as intended from what I can tell. You need to log-in to your account on each computer and authorize that computer. That means that if you want access, you need their log-in information.

stupid logic. Guess i'll stay with ACTUAL family for now...

neat street fighter x tekken got cards

Not neat that we dunno what Capcom is going to do for Games for Windows Live for it.

Considering the only thing they've announced is Ultra Street 4 going Steam works and nothing else they've released on PC is dropping it... not a good deal, even with cards.

Don't get me wrong: Game isn't terrible and I'd buy it on Sale... if I knew what Capcom was planning to do for it/dropping GfWL future.

Stay away. The game is multiplayer only and SO dead that the developers released a patch that would generate Steam keys to hand out to your friends if you joined an empty server.

Laaaaaame. I'll give it a shot for the weekend anyway just to see. I know a couple people that have it, so if I do buy it I might have someone to play it with occasionally. Hard to say no for $2.99 too.

Seeing as the DLC itself is tied to Steam and not gfwl unlike the arkham games, they probably had some forethought into it. Between Resident Evil 6/Revelations being steamworks releases and the fact that none of their published games for a good while haven't had gfwl, there's probably not any dangling threads that'd make them hesitant to retrofit sfxt.

We can play each others libraries simultaneously? #OHSHIT

Game Changer.

Besides the cost.

Yeah, a lot of friends have pretty much dropped out of anything multi we did, and all they can talk about is cryptic FF14 lingo. Makes me sad.

That's MMOs or Mobas for you.

Yup, yup. East Plano is awesome.

I am loving The Colony for being a chill, quiet place to live, but I REALLY miss all the crazy good food and beer I was so close to.

By the way, if you have a 3DS, I run this group (and we're meeting on Saturday):
https://www.facebook.com/StreetPassPlano

My parents used to have to go to The Colony when I lived in Frisco in the early 90's to go to the old walmart lol. At the time we only had Brookshire's in Frisco and Davids. So if we needed stuff that wasn't sold in a grocery store we went to Plano or The Colony. Does The Colony still smell awful because of Lake Lewisville though? I'm in McKinney now, the land of bored housewives.

Probably a very trivial question, but what is the name of the software I should turn to if I wanted to control Windows with a 360 controller? To be more precise, would it be possibile to assign the "win key + P" combination to a single key on the controller? I'd like to switch back and forth from my monitor to my TV directly with the pad.

Steam machines? Way ahead of you Gabe :3

I am not sure, but wouldn't Joy2Key kind of be an option for this?
