Oh wow, fully missed this announcement.

*adds SSF4AE to wishlist*

Must be weird for the client, unless they'll double back around and remove gfwl from AE, it sounds like you'd just be stuck with a gfwl SF until you bought the dlc.

You are going to be stuck with GFWL AE until you buy the upgrade.

As soon as you purchase, the GFWL version will be removed from your library and the App ID of the ultra version will be added. Then you can download the new game.

GFWL versions of SF will be no longer supported and removed completely from the store.

PSA: there are two versions of LP1 available on Steam.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is Steamworks
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition - Colonies Edition is GFWL

The former is $3.49 right now, the latter is $5.

Da fudge?! EDIT: Hey it's available in my region w00t~

Given the general sale discount of 40% I'm guessing it'll be 50% off as a Daily or, at a stretch, 60%. I'm hoping for 66% off DMC and RER myself -- I just need the former's DLC while the latter I'd be able to pick up for about $7. Lost Planet 3, Remember Me and RE6 aren't going anywhere and are all region-locked, so I can wait for 75% off.

Current discount is 50% here £14.99. 66% off would be acceptable. Not sure if I would buy it though. Hmm.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but upgrading from SSF4 to Ultra DOES NOT give you the costumes Capcom is giving day-one digital/retail buyers of Ultra, right?

Because if not, that's a Steam Sale breaker right there.

Someone get Haunts in here to give us an answer.

Was this confirmed somewhere or are you just assuming they will do exactly as Bioshock 2 did?

Bioshock 2 issued a patch and didn't change the app id, this is completely different.

This version of events is actually how I speculated it from the start, even before the announcement.

Its not GFWL, so it would be available in your region.

How's the PC port of lost planet 2? I gameflyed it on consoles a long time ago and thought it was meh but some of the boss fights were pretty awesome. If it runs clean then I'll get it cheap just for that.

GAF, I need your opinions on these:

Onimusha 3
Exceed
Satazius
Cherry Tree High Comedy Club

Onimusha 3 is a wonderful game, definitely check it out. I will say that it might feel pretty dated at this point, but it was easily one of my favorite games in the PS2 era.

Hey guys, I hear you like Street Fighter x Tekken, so we're going to put it on sale every single week from now until eternity.

jet set radio is $1.25 on gamersgate. idk why i'm buying this, i already have it on 360, ps3, and i beat both the japan and american versions on the dc back in the day. whatever, bought.

How are the pc dead rising games? Good ports? I really loved dead rising 1 and 2 on 360, and want to get off the record now.

at last Dark Void is 2.49 usd.
Dark Void Zero is only $1.24. Capcom needs to patch the SecuROM out of that.

Why would you put such invasive DRM on a game you're gonna sell for the price of a candy bar? At this point you're losing more money due to obscurity and anti-SecuROM advocates than piracy. Hire a college co-op and have them rip it out on the cheap, come on Capcom :(

Ah, in that case 66% is likely. I imagine all of Capcpm's 2013 titles -- save for perhaps Lost Planet 3 -- will be 75% off come the Winter Sale if you can wait ~2.5 months.

Crysis weekend deal. 75% off everything.

Maybe you like Custom Graffiti mods.

my greatest memory of jet set radio is firing up the DC web browser, saving a bunch of porn to my VMU, playing jet set radio, and spraying it everywhere, hoping my parents didn't awkwardly walk in on me playing it :P

They use GFWL which sucks and will render the coop unplayable come next summer, but outside of that the ports are fine.

That's why I was thinking it'd be bizarre, have there been other transitions like that?

Well this is weird, Steam is allowing me to buy Lost Planet 2 when I could never do that because of the GFWL Country limitation, the same is happening with AE, I now can see the store page when I usually could not due to the same restriction.

EDIT: Same for all the gfwl titles it seems, dead rising, re5, etc.

The fuck can't they just ignore being greedy stupid assholes and just release their games on Steam since it seems that their games are selling way better on Steam than on Origin.

See, that's where the mystery lies. It's possible that EA has been approving an inordinate amount of deals throughout the past 6-odd months because it wants to get an idea of how much money it's leaving on the table by petulantly ignoring Steam... or maybe it's just giving Steam users ample opportunity to snap up the games before they're also yanked.
