It's more a matter of timing and being very lucky, this happens to be the best time so far on accumulating keys, with several major bundle sites going off at the same time, factor in minimum costs to gain in most keys and price/cost of oversea transaction for UK customers it works in your favor.... sometimes.

Kane and Lynch has been sitting on my desk for the couple of days from a retail CD, I just didn't have it in me to add it to my account.

In my case, it's all about only having about sixty cents in my bank account. That's where the limitation comes from.

I have a few Steam games to give away:

Batman AA
FEAR 2
Some Worms games
Super Frog HD

I dunno how to make them work via ModBot, since they aren't keys anymore. They're just activation links. I have seen some Fellow Gaffers did it right, so... Somebody will be very kind to explain it to me how, please?

Sell your Steam cards, buy keys and explore your options ;)

try this :
Code:
https://www.humblebundle.com/downloads?key=

turns into:

https://www.humblebundle.com/downloads?key=INSERTYOURCODEHERE

copy the url part: INSERTYOURCODEHERE and use that as the mobot key.

Just cut off the last part of the URL (I haven't bought a Humble Bundle since the new system was put in place, but I understand there are individual gift links?) and paste that in for the ModBot key. The winner then appends that to https://www.humblebundle.com/gift?key= to get the complete URL.

Consciously I knew that, it's just an instant gut reaction to back away from that Origin symbol and/or hold up a religious symbol while screaming "Back, spawn of Satan!"

For those that have a PS3, what is the best way to connect it to your monitor and use your headphones?

The best way to connect to a monitor is HDMI connection if your monitor supports it. A HDMI to DVI adapter also works if you don't. For headphones, wireless bluetooth headphones have worked great for me this past year.

I can't speak toward wired headphone too much. I looked into it and simply did not have the room for more wires nor extra adapters required that various guides told me would be needed. http://www.overclock.net/t/1360256/using-headphones-with-ps3-and-compter-with-the-same-monitor

I'll fix the Origin misflag. Looks like Ys, Dracula, and Arkham should all disable the symbol generating thing? Edit: looks like I already excluded "Origins".

Edit: Fixed going forward.
Default: no icon
Contains desura: desura icon
Contains gog: gog icon
Contains origin and does NOT contain (origins, dracula, ys, y's, arkham, fear, f.e.a.r): origin icon

HDMI to your monitor (HDMI to DVI adapter/cable if your monitor has no HDMI in)

Use the A/V cable that your PS3 came with with an RCA (female) to stereo adapter to either connect to your headphones (female on the stereo adapter) or go into your computer (male stereo adapter) and then out to your headphones. I use an Asus Xonar amp, but it's not necessary.

Yes. I believe not all games are uPlay redeemable, only PoP and Silent Hunter are. The other are regular cd keys you'll input on the games itself to access whatever multiplayer/copy protection the game has.

That's what I think anyway. PoP and Silent Hunter are not giving out keys. The other games are.
Late replay because I was on my way home: Yeah, I snagged PoP and Silent Hunter yesterday. I don't feel kosher DLing an installer or something and then using the key that way though.

I'm guessing people who bought the RU copies a few weeks back will be able to play 'em.

Some people seem to be freaking out over the fact that the standard sub wasn't updated, but those users aren't going to be left out in the region-locked cold.

what is with these frequent site crashes
neither days had anything important enough for it to happen

My friend said somethingawful was down at the same time so I'm guessing something was up.

He also told me someone was impersonating me on the neogaf facebook group. My immediate response for some reason was "we have a facebook group?".

Welcome to GTA Online!

like, if i wanted to race i'd play gta 5 and use my custom cars online

the only thing 4 has going for it is friggin copsn crooks mode, but i couldn't find anyone playing it ._.

To be fair, that's how it was on launch on 360. So I guess the GTA community is just awful everywhere.

That "escort the criminal while a shit ton of cops are on you" mode is probably the most fun but frustrating mode because no one knows how to play it. (Hangman's Noose, I think it's called)

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Okay, call me crazy, but I'm having a really good time with Star Trek (2013, the new one).

Sure it's super linear and has a few bugs, but I'm almost half way through the game now and think it's great.

The game's user Metascore of 2.1/10 is not at all deserved. I'd say it's at least a 5 or 6.

It was a mess at launch apparently. Coop wouldn't work and stuff.

Heads up, you won't be able to watch blurays on your monitor unless it has HDCP. Instead, you will be treated to audio and a nice blue screen.
(I know you'll probably use it for gaming, but... you know)

Not sure if it's fixed or not, I'm kind of treating it like a single player game. A lot of people are mad because "ZOMG it's Star Trek, it's not supposed to be Action Packed©".

But that's kind an overarching problem with the whole franchise reboot. Wider audience appeal and all that. While I agree it's not "traditional Trek", it's surprisingly good.

Very likely to hit $5 (or less) during the next big sale. I'd say for that price it's a deal.

This may be an inappropriate thread to post this, but since it's active I may find a more accurate answer and help!

So I formatted my main drive recently to do a fresh install of Windows. My Steam games are stored on 2 other drives on the computer, but I wasn't aware you still had to make a backup to restore it back to a recognizable state. Steam does not recognize any of my games, even thought they were left untouched.

1) I tried restoring, doesn't work
2) I tried a method I found on the steam forums where you have to create a new "downloaded" directory and then move the existing games into that folder. Problem is the process is extremely slow at 78 MB/sec where I might as well just re-download the games. (I have over 100).

What else I can do? The files are all there, I just want it back to normal :(

Sorry for the semi-derail.

I'm a little confused. Has your Steam setup changed between installations? It sounds like:

- Originally: Steam on game drive #1, rest of games on game drive #2
- Now: Steam on OS drive, games spread across two aforementioned drives

Sorry I should've made it more clear. IU have 4 storage drives on my PC (sloppy, I know)

- My OS drive, the SSD drive was formatted recently. That was where the application was installed and is now reinstalled on again.
- HDD#1 has most games before reaching near capacity.
- HDD#2 has the rest of the games.

After reinstalling steam, none of the games appear as "installed". I'm trying to find a way to point steam to my games already downloaded.

Ah, right. Did you use Steam's library folder function to install games across different drives? If so, ensure the folder settings are still in place and then just reinstall the games (you'll first want to ensure the drive letters match up). Assuming everything is as it should be, Steam will detect the existing data and not actually download anything.
