And Sonic Racing was fun as always, I was really stoked to finally unlock Sonichu... I mean Shadow The Hedgehog.
My heart skipped a beat there you tease!!

Been meaning to pick up Condemned myself. edit. For those tempted by Splice, I say give it a miss. Game is style over substance. Does have a hard second set of levels but it never gripped me enough to stick with it.

Humble Bundle letdown, bah.

At least I'm occupied with Stalker SoC. Hoping to see Clear Sky and CoP on sale during the Halloween sale!

Splice from the HB is very, very good. Fractal too at the beginning but it gets confusing, too many possibilities to plan ahead.

The US misses out for some reason. There's a fair bit of it.

Edit: The two games available in the US are separate apps! But they're not discounted. :(

The gist of it is that Ubisoft/Ludia had the license in the US while Koch/Deep Silver had the license everywhere else. Ubisoft chose to make use of the license, along with the Price is Right license, to release full price games on Kinect and Wii. As a result, the XBLA/PSN/PC downloadable Millionaire game was never released in the US. Ubisoft's license has now expired and Deep Silver appears to have taken over the US license, so the game itself got a release a few weeks ago. I suspect they're not discounting the game because it just came out, and I suspect the DLC was probably negotiated separately. Since a lot of the DLC is themed (Star Trek, South Park) it probably interferes with separate game licenses for those series in the US; Paramount Digital of course reserves the license for Star Trek, and who knows what the South Park situation is (although Ubisoft is publishing the upcoming game, so they possibly have the license, which would probably mean they wouldn't allow Deep Silver who just pilfered their Millionaire license to release the DLC)

The Kinect Who Wants to be a Millionaire is awful and only allows voice commands and hand commands, no controller. The UI is very slow. Very very draining experience.

Hilariously enough Ludia got bought by Freemantle which owns a whole lot of game shows like X Factor, Hole in the Wall, American Idol, Minute to Win It, 1000 Ways to Die, The Price is Right... but not Who Wants to be a Millionaire, which is owned by... Sony.

It comes out of nowhere and makes no sense at all. It also directly contradicts events that may have happened in one's playthrough. In the same fucking game, even.

Mystical gods
and similar shit is probably the worst way of ending a story. According to me, that is.

Really? Wow! Deus Ex Machina indeed! Of all the plot resolution devices to use that has to be the most grievous. No wonder people mislaid their excrement. I've not played any of the ME games. I have that delight to come. Or not.

What where how?

Who? When? [Yet most importantly] Why?!

Yes, this scoring system goes all the way up to eleven :D.

Oh and I took some purdy The 39 Steps screenies for those of you who like to stalk me via my Steam profile and/or wish to see why I was praising it earlier. Feel free to ignore the ohsofunny! comments from me.

Modded or vanilla?

Just Zone Reclamation Project, the Absolute Texture packs, and Shader Max. Basically, the Starter Pack stuff. Incredible so far, I can't believe I had trouble getting into it when I first tried it a couple years ago. I blame the bad first impressions on the crazy head bob that made me sick.

I'm actually going to replay the original Mass Effect one of these days, but I'm just going to end up ignoring the spin-offs,2, and 3. I'll just pretend it's a full story on it's own and that as it turns out, that was the last Reaper in existence.

On behalf of my girlfriend who will play it forever, thank you for Two Worlds II.

I don't know what ZRP involves, but sounds rather minimal. I had the same response to it when I first played. then I went back in and loved it (one day Clear Skies may get the same chance). I've yet to see what it's like modded (at all).

As I don't follow Steam minutiae extremely closely (and this thread is a beast anyway), why did Arkham Asylum GOTY suddenly show up in my account next to my copy of Arkham Asylum? Is this a GFWL related bit of business?

EA isn't above losing a bunch of money while chasing the promise of massive revenues down the line. They'd be stupid if they were. The trouble is that most people believe Origin will never catch up to Steam to the point where the losses they incur are worthwhile.

Maybe they've got a bunch of aces up their sleeves for how to get more people on their service, but it's not like Origin is new. They've had a bunch of exclusive releases on Origin already at this point, so they've likely gotten a big part of the market that they can get and combined with their mobile division is still smaller than Steam's active members. As far as I know 3rd party sales are basically non-existent on Origin, and in the meantime, Steam has actually rolled out significantly more features over the time Origin has existed than Origin itself. That makes the proposition that Origin will grow relative to Steam organically a dubious proposition at best.

Does anyone find it odd that Naruto is releasing in 4 hours and they STILL haven't put up a price? If they see poor sales they have no one to blame but themselves.

It's priced R$79.99 in Nuuvem with 12% off bringing it to R$69.99, so my guess is it's going to cost between U$30 - 40.

That would be crazy, amazing and terrible. More than 90% of Brazil's entire product distribution is made through trucks, on terrible maintained roads and terribly outdated trucks, and I'm not even talking about any other country in the continent. I don't know how close to reality the developers aspire their games to be, but South American Truck Hauling would be something hard to implement, imo.
The Argentinian version would be a bit boring, what with all the protests and stuff.

Yeah it's going to be $30 according to oneplay, but I'm just really surprised they didn't allow pre-orders, or at the very least show how much it's going to cost.

Did they really just push the release of Batman back 5 hours for the US? Thanks WB.

What's up with the reviews as well? Shouldn't reviews be flooding out right about now, I've only seen one or two floating around. I'm wondering if it's under embargo or if WB didn't send out review copies.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 is so, so good. You all need to buy it.

Don't know why this game tempts me so much. I actually plan to play past bedtime with headphones. I think I'm broken.
And yeah for an imaginary South America DLC, if what Drizzle say is right, I want roads and trucks in bad shape. It is a great loss for humanity that the game is not workshop ready and thus that nobody will ever make a Wages of Fear mod.
Kidding on the last part, it has the potential to be nearly as annoying as an escort mission.

Congrats on buying it.

I'm not disagreeing with any of this. Origin will 'grow' but not enough to make the entire endeavor worthwhile. It is a fool's errand and EA didn't even put in the full effort it really required anyways (though they put in much more than anyone else save Valve).
edit: I don't know, I'm not privy to the details. Maybe the extra 30% they get back on their heavy hitters like BF more than offsets the cost of developing, maintaining, upgrading, and promoting Origin.

Wish the camera is a bit more zoomed out in batman, not that it affect gameplay, but it looks much cooler when batman isn't blocking half of the screen.
