I can't really argue with that I suppose, but the part of Fable I love the most are the things that surround the sub-par RPG elements, and Fable III is just as crude and darkly humorous as I want it to be.

I can understand that. The shift of focus for Fable III was a little too sharp for my liking, however, which is unfortunate.

It doesn't need to be that convincing, it's not like I gave a glowing review of the game. I enjoyed the new direction of the menus and level progression system.

And no, it's not a natural progression from Fable II, but it's still clearly and lovingly a Fable game everywhere it matters.

My biggest beef with the game was the menus, I'm glad someone enjoyed them but I would have preferred being punched in the dick to having to deal with a Level That is Your Menu Screen where you have to move around and go through more menus just to accomplish simple tasks. This is not a good design for the sake of immersion, it's tedious and obtuse.

I want to love this game, I really do. I love the combat animations and the idea of an "armory". But there are so many other things that are wrong with this game that it breaks my hope.
