The only thing we're all going to be feeling, if id and/or Bethesda doesn't allow us to pre-load the game, is rage.

Edit: Also The Club isn't shitty, it's just game design from another era. It's a total arcade experience, the only problem is that its design is a complete and utter anachronism in this day and age. It's a total score/time attack game that's as much a racing game as it is a shooter. Characters have different strengths and weaknesses, kinda like karts/characters in mario kart. I remember having to play and play certain modes and levels to unlock other modes and levels. I can see why people don't like it, but I enjoyed what I played. I might actually buy it at that price. DAMN YOU STEAM THREAD!

I really like The Club! I can totally understand people not liking it, like any game, but it seems much of the negativity comes from the game being judged for what it isn't instead of what it is. It's much more of a racing game than a shooter (it's a Bizarre Creations game, after all!). There's no plot, no complex goals beyond improving scores and times, and the different characters are really just like choosing different cars.
Is it cheap on Steam or something?

Uhh, have you seen the banner on the steam store front for the last week? Every Sega title is discounted. Some aren't explicitly mentioned the way the Dreamcast, Total War and Genesis packs are but all Sega titles are 50-90% off.

I didn't actually realise that The Club was on Steam (figured I would've come across it by now). No need to get testy.

That's an awesome Rage banner. Can't wait to play it. Also, seeing all the talk of The Club feeling like an arcade game has made me want to purchase it.

My excitement for Rage is slowly increasing, I'm ready for it. I hope they do a preload for you people who bought it digitally, that would suck if you spent all release day downloading it :p

wow, sucks if true. I never really played tennis or even watched it
I don't sharapova matches counts as watching sport.
but I was tempted to get it.
I usually don't like tennis either but I've had a lot of fun with previous Virtua Tennis games. I don't care about achievements but if the saves becoming corrupt is true that would suck.

See, this sounds fantastic. I guess I'll buy it. TOO MANY GAMES.

First I'd heard it was on Steam as well :) It'll be fun to try it out with a mouse and keyboard eventually.

rage has been like $35 on cd-key sites for a while. gonna wait for confirmation just to be on the nitty side but hell yeah for that cheap.

i'm worried that it will turn into generic-y shooter pretty quickly, but i'm a big fan of carmack . i know on the technical side it will be marvelous though.

At this rate I might try one of those sites myself, I have been waiting for a sale for two weeks, usually there would have been one by now.

Well, I'm 70% done downloading and installing The Club, the Steam community forum wasn't even full of a page of threads, so if there's any issues, be it the game itself or GFWL, it's going to be fun using the Google-fu to find the solutions.

Edit: How do these CD key sites function as a business? How do they acquire their keys, how can they afford to undercut every other business, be they brick n' mortar or DD? Are they purchasing the keys directly from the publisher and/or developers? From another DD service?

Yes. Beware. I've had a corrupt save once (thankfully it was only the second time I started the game up so I didn't really lose anything). I've played a bit since then, have around 15 hours and have started the game 4-5 times, and haven't run into the issue again yet.

I haven't had any problems with achievements though, even one I earned before the corrupt save stayed earned.

I think they buy the keys from Russia where games are really cheap.

See, now that just sounds sketchy.

What's really sketchy is how this place bitches about employment conditions at developers, how publishers are evil, the industry should be unionized, blah blah blah, then turns around and buys grey market keys to cheat the companies out of money...

Because it's the exact same individuals? It always bothers me when people refer to the entire forum as if the thousands of users that post and lurk here at any given moment bare anything resembling a unified, uncontested opinion on anything.

I get what you're saying but you're going the wrong way about saying it.

How exactly do the Sega Genesis Classics work on your Steam games list? Is it just a big mess of games or is it all under a single heading?

They all run out of one program.

I just finished Fallout 3, and I loved it. But I recently discovered I never activated the DLC (seriously Bethesda?).

Regarding the ending (and the DLC):
Is it still a point of no return, or does the game actually continue once you activate the DLC?

I just need a yes or no answer for this. Thanks.

I've seen this screen exactly 41 times now over as many minutes...

I bought Bulletsotrm a while back, so my GFWL client has to be relative up-to-date, this is just borderline retarded. I would love, LOVE to sit down some of the executives and decision makers at Microsoft in front of a gaming PC, get them to create a brand new GFWL and Steam account and make them go through trying to get Kane & Lynch: Dead Men or The Club to just bloody run. And then get them to try out a Steamworks game, like Kane & Lynch Dog Days for an apt comparison between sequels and the two "competing services".

Alpha Protocol is so awesome. I feel dirty for getting such an awesome game for 2 dollars.

Also that Games for Windows Live shit ruined Batman AA for me, I'm pretty sure. That's when I first experienced that horrid shit, and I think I learned to associate GFWL with Batman AA.
