So, Crysis worth a damn? Can't remember which game it is people say the first level is good and then it goes down hill.

Too bad the beta turned me off the game completely :/

Gonna stick with Red Orchestra 2.

¿Red Orchestra 2 is still a shitty rentail beta? i preorder the game but that buggy mess is my disappointment of the year i dont try since last week...

Either use Steam Mover or Game Save Manager which includes a feature called Steam Spreader to do the same thing. You don't even need to reinstall.

I've never had an issue with just copying the entire folder over. Have done it multiple times with zero issue. It's low tech, but it works for most people.

Was once one of my most anticipated, but I've backed out. I've already bought enough disappointing games of late.

the crysis that is $7.49 in USA is $3.74 in australia (thx jim-jong bong), how much is the $9.99 one that includes crysis warhead in AU?

we're looking for someone to gift them for us in the STEAM gifting thread if anyone can help.

Even with it's bugs it's vastly superior to anything Dice has done in recent years.

That's every single game in existence if you read GAF.

Yeah I've done the full copy too, I just kind of got the impression that he was only asking about doing the full copy because he thought that he'd need to reinstall to move them, so I was suggesting the ways which don't mandate a reinstall. Full copy actually works better than the Backup system in some respects, especially when copying between Steam accounts.

ro2 is fine from a technical standpoint (stats reset incoming).

i'm more concerned about some of the 11th hour design decisions (PROTOTYPE ASSAULT RIFLES FOR EVERYONE!) and tripwire's insistence on smearing a truly wonderful game behind a vaseline of universally chastised casualization measures.

none of this prevents it from having the best moment-to-moment gunplay and map design of any fps for the best part of a decade.

The co-op is better than any co-op I have ever played. Ever. In fact, the co-op portion is better than any game I have played this year all together.

mechanically, it's a huge step back from the original. none of the puzzles require any level of agility/dexterity. it's essentially a pure first person puzzle adventure, rather that the action/puzzle hybrid of the original. i guess that's a bonus if you areplanning to play it with a control pad, but to me was a major disappointment.

it's a credit to the exquisitely drip fed narrative and writing that i never felt anything less than compelled to continue, and finished it in two nights.

I can still only think of one puzzle in Portal 1 that required more dexterity than a 3 year old could handle.

Wow, cheap crysis. Tempted. Tempted...

edit: Don't forget the scavenger hunt in Portal 2.

Here's to hoping BF3 goes to Steam as well, by the by.

I do not think the comparison is correct or fair, because the games are destined for a different audiences...however...

Red Orchestra 2 is a mess technically...the rentail version is like a beta...I don't think there is justification for cheating people... releasing a game like this

Instead the game of DICE, I think gives what they promised...i know BF3 is not out yet but...

Problems:
Beta BF3 >>>>>>> Rentail RO2

i wish valve shared that sentiment:

Oddly enough – and I worked on Portal, so I know this for sure – there were two sections that even PC players got stuck on. The rule when we made Portal 2 was that no matter what the input device – PC, controller, whatever – we wanted to make it about your ability to understand the problems and solve them, not your ability to execute them. So that wasn’t based on us making a console version, that was based on us being able to look at Steam and realising that people stopped playing a three hour game and they never got to the end of it because of this puzzle... and that sucks. We wanted to make sure that when we made this longer experience, people didn’t stop after 2 hours because they needed to be in the air and nail something. There’s a puzzle in the first Portal, if you remember, where you have to keep jumping up and then doing a jump back into a portal, and hitting the next one and going all the way up – we had to make sure there weren’t puzzles like that.
if i had this knowledge beforehand, i'd have probably waited on a sale.

bought crysis pack/portal 2.

portal 2 is now my most expensive game bought on steam! up to 86 titles now! almost 100 :)

i just started using steam maybe 4-5 months (whenever TF2 went f2p) ago so not bad, i love steam.

Yes, you're right. Different audiences, RO2 is aimed at intelligent people who like to play tactical skill based games where as BF is aimed at people who like mindless running and gunning.

The game at this point runs fine on a technical level, and it has actual artistic direction unlike BF3 so is much more aesthetically pleasing.

If you think Dice will fix the numerous bugs and design flaws in BF3 by release you are delusional.

Not that surprising, I can't either. I really liked Portal 1, but at the end of it, I really wasn't craving more Portal so much. Besides, I have no reason to believe I'll enjoy it any less if I play it half a year from now instead of now.

Well if it helps at all I'm sure Valve will have it for $10 or less on the winter sale, maybe even $10 on thanksgiving or something.

I would post my list, but as a true good guy, I don't feel the need to brag about my generosity. I gift because I want to spread joy, not to feel good about myself.

Real good guys gift via their friends wishlist! They never see it coming.

I gifted about 521 games but I always make a new account (Steam and Paypal) for new gifts and change the password to a random 256 case string afterwards so people never associate me with that gift.

Edit: If you received a gift from my regular account, it was my brother using my CC.

Edit 2: If you received a gift from a Gaffer, it was me, posing as that Gaffer.

Edit 3: xelios, wilflare, Stallion and Salsa are probably my alts. I lost track.

I'm planning on getting Portal 2. I already have the first Portal, if I buy the Portal bundle would it give me the option to gift the second copy of Portal that I would have?

I emailed Steam Support about if I could gift the first if I bought The Orange Box and they said no, so I'm guessing might be the same here. Maybe not though.
