Did that person who said the Geneforge series was coming to Steam ever link to any source? Or was that just BS?

Orcs Must Die is pretty rad, I just bought it based off of the demo. It's like a more action-y Sanctum.

this game needs multiplayer/co-op and then a fourpack. hope GMG gets it up.

any word on RAGE? is it worth a purchase now? I was hoping to get it from GMG with credits but that is now a bubble dream popped :/

I'm not having any real issues with Rage. The screen tearing was pretty annoying but I simply saved, quit out, added Rage to the Nvidia control panel, forced vsync and the game's been fine. I haven't bothered to double check what my frame is with fraps.

I've got an Nvidia GTX 480, 6gb of ram and an i7 quad core 2.8ghz. No real complaints. I'm noticing minor texture pop in here and there when I quickly spin around outdoors, but I'm not experiencing any of the issues that I've seen people complain about. There are things you can do, that Carmack actually mentioned at QuakeCon, to exacerbate the engine's weaknesses, like walk backwards and then quickly spin around, then you'll see a fairly large amount of pop-in but playing the game just as you naturally would, I haven't noticed the pop-in all that much. And what I am seeing doesn't bother me. Most peop\le who have had issues are Ati/AMD users I believe. The driver and OpenGL support for those cards have been pretty suspect lately, Brink is another recent OpenGL (and idTech) title that had a lot of the same issues (like grids appearing on objects and characters) and I don't know if they were ever fully addressed. Rage looks good in broad strokes but if you inch up close to many objects in the world, the textures don't hold up, everything is fairly low res.

About the only solid things I can say about Rage two hours in (still in the process of earning the preliminary gear and being introduced to the various mechanics) is that guns are really satisfying to use, shooting stuff is fun, there's lots of great visual feedback. From how the guns walk when you shoot to how enemies can get staggered by where they're hit. Go for a headshot, helmet goes flying, bandit staggers back and falls on his ass. Shoot a bandit in the leg, watch him stagger back from the impact. While the enemy A.I. isn't always the greatest, the melee-centric enemies will leap off walls, scamper across the ceiling, bound over objects in the environment, they don't just madly rush at you in a straight line every time.

I haven't been blown away by what I've played. Rage has been good not great, it hasn't wowed me yet.

You guys must wonder when you see me launch Breath of Death every day and then something else immediatly.

Explanation: monitor auto-adjust became borked for some reason, so every time i turn it on the whole image gets just stuck at a side, BUT if i hit the auto-adjust button while the screen is completely black, it fixes itself. Breath of Death has a black screen at the beggining and loads a lot faster than other games.

Also ive been playing Psychonauts and Space Marine as well you liers!

After playing the demo, I think I might buy Orcs must die eventually. 14€ is a bit on the high side for me though.
Same here! I'll wait for a sale but I put it on my wishlist as soon as I shut down the demo.

Don't worry Salsa a few people I have added from Gaf do the same....including me from time to time haha. Start one game, quit, start another, quit. Then go back to BF3

Can't decide on Crysis. Total War and Crysis were the two games I wanted to play when I got my PC but my graphics card came with a free copy of Just Cause 2 and I've been spending all my time on it. $7.50 isn't bad but it's not that sweet sweet $5 that makes almost everything an instant buy. But on that note, why did I never hear much about Just Cause 2? That game is phenomenal.

This wierd thing happened to me. I accidentaly unplugged my PC while it was downloading TF2 and now it won't download. It just says update paused and when i try to resume it just sits on 0%. I've tried to delete local files but it just says "uninstalling" but it never uninstalls. Verifying cache doesn't do anything either it just says verifying 1 file and never does anything.

Might make sense to close Steam, delete the TF2 manually from HDD and then restart Steam.

Can't stress enough how good Orcs Must Die seems.
Just played the demo again, I think I'll get it as soon as possible. Horrible time to release a pretty little game like this though, everyone is saving money for the big shots I guess (I know I am).
If only they offered a pre-purchase price reduction instead of a crappy costume... then again, that costume does look sexy :>

I don't know about that. It's outselling Skyrim on Steam. Late Oct->Mid Nov is when retail starts to get really crowded.

Yeah you're right, I didn't notice but it ranks pretty high in the best selling chart (especially considering that the chart counts revenue, so being a cheap game I guess it's selling a lot of copies). Good for them then :)

Orcs Must Die! is so much fun. I think playing with a 360 controller feels better than kb/m, even though spamming RT makes your trigger finger hurt after a while. :p And yes, this game would really shine in co-op.

Aww yeah, Spacechem was added to the indie bundle. I've been having a mild interest in this game but not enough to buy it.

To a point, but I'd be concerned that a random would mess up my carefully planned chain reaction of traps.

Dungeon Def is going to have the opposite problem. It is nearly impossible to make progress without other players.

Frozen Synapse and SpaceChem in the same pay-what-you-want bundle is pretty much the greatest thing to ever happen. Don't pass this up - you'll tell your grandchildren about it someday
