I bought this a while ago from Steam and I couldn't get it working in Vista64. I was so frustrated. I'm sure smarter men than me could figure it out, but I honestly wish I could just give you my copy. (The fact that I have a copy for Xbox probably explains why I didn't break my back looking for an answer.)

I just switched to Win7 a couple weeks ago, maybe I'll have better luck?

I figure if Darksiders doesn't receive that great of a discount I'll just preorder Space Marine for the free Darksiders game.

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
The FEAR Collection is still discounted on the Aussie Store and FEAR 3 went live for us yesterday. I'd bite if it weren't $20. I think Valve may have forgotten that the typical price for us is $40 (for some reason, the typical price of the pack in the US is $20 despite the content adding up to $40).

Beat Hazard is so amazingly addictive. I finally gave it a whirl due to the Tron: Legacy soundtrack comments and was blown away. I don't even know what's going on with the effects at 200% but it's FUN.

I have a retail copy of Jade Empire for PC and it worked on XP, Vista and Windows 7. If I had any problems, they weren't bad enough for me to remember them.

I'm getting excited about the summer sale but when I think about it there are really no games that I can think of that I want. I got just about everything that interested me during the Christmas sale.

It's a problem w/ the launcher.. there was a trick to it - I think it was just changing an .ini file to say that the launcher had already run once so don't run it every-time the game starts. All the options in the launcher can be set either in the .ini file or in the game menus itself.

There'll be details in the Jade Empire threads on the Steam Forums.

What should happen is that the Publisher, would remove the launcher - or otherwise correct the problem. But that would take someone like five minutes - and that five minutes adds to the bottom line - you know.. Mega Publishers are taking it really hard these days *eyeroll*

Guys when is the Steam sale happening? I just finished Sniper: Ghost Warrior so I am eager to buy a new game, but if the sale is happening soon then I will hold out.

I see, well that's unfortunate but probably easy to fix anyway. And definitely worth fixing because the game is great.

ah, for real? appreciate the heads-up, if it does magically drop, ill be sure to make sure its compatible first. i too played it on xbox, but sold off a lot of my collection in hopes of replacing them on steam one day, so yeah, no hurry on my end either.
and i appreciate the gesture! maybe one day we'll be able to pass these things on, or resell them.

Pretty obv the sale starts on july 4 >.< its a public holiday in the US, and it gives like a week until the crates implode in tf2!

It's not going to happen.

Turns out the broadband providers in America, along with Gamestop, paid Valve not to do it.

there is no sign whatsoever poting towards that, how is it pretty obvious?

last sale ended on July 4

Steam is a global service, they dont do anything for US specific holidays

- Killing floor summer event starts tomorrow
- Swarm arena guy says the sales are coming "really soon"
- Only one midweek sale that ends tomorrow
- Lots of coded stuff added to the registry lately
