And this has to happen the moment my PS3 dies and I decide to activate my retail copy of Portal 2. At least seeing this thread title as soon as I opened GAF was good for a laugh.

They're busy uploading Half-Life 3 which will unlock if we manage to buy X amount of games.
Do you have ANY idea how many games they'd sell? I like to think that I don't let myself get blackmailed. But for Half-Life 3 I might buy $150 worth of random games.

Do daily sales expire due to limited quantity?
No, but it is possible they will run out of keys they can give out during the sale for some games, making it so you won't be able to play the game for a few days after you bought it.

If its a single player game, you can usually just crack it if you must play it that moment

Check the timer on the Peggle daily deal from yesterday. It equals out to nearly 11 days time. :)

When's that? July 11, when the sale likely ends and what's printed on the Summer crates in TF2.

If we don't let Technomancer do it now I suspect more than ten official threads will be created in the confusion. And we're fighting-type.

It's not a steam sale if there's no LovingSteam OT.

DO NOT BUY UNTIL THE SPLASH IS UP! You might wind up overpaying! Many games will be on sale all week, but then heavily discounted one particular day.

Technomancer; don't concentrate on "what's on sale"--you can't possibly document it all, concentrate on sale tips for GAFfers. How long does the sale last? How does it work? What funding sources can you use? Tips about daily vs week-long sales.

When the splash page goes up you can highlight key daily sales.
That's mostly what I'd be looking for in a Sale OT: strategies.
- Is there a rebate baseline and no one should buy when it's at that price but rather wait for a better deal?
- Typically, what's a good rule of thumb on when to jump? (66, 75, beyond?)
- When a better deal shows up for a given game, does it mean it's the best deal you'll get or can it go down further?
- If a given deal can go further, is there a risk it won't and you'll miss an opportunity?

(I'm asking these questions after having blown my 30 first euros)

Also, a couple of highlights, community recommended bargains.
And a constant tracking of the price for Vampire !

Would you be interested in Bad Company 2? That usually goes on sale for dirt cheap.

Don't count on it now that EA is busy shepherding their games toward Origin.

My wish list is amazing!

DoW 2: Retribution - $14.99
Vampire TM: Bloodlines - $13.39
Bit.Trip Runner - $2.50
Anomaly - $4.99
Magika - $6.69
Jamestown - $6.69

Hooray for Summer!

I will not buy games I won't play just because they're on sale.
