Let's all confess our shame for the year. Post how much you've spent on Steam so far in 2011. Just be logged into your Steam account, click on ACCOUNT at the top right corner and view your purchases.

€19,63 :D I resisted buying stuff this year because I already have a ridiculous backlog of games I bought in 2009 and 2010. I have 166 games on steam and maybe played about 30 of those.

Trackmania United is absolutely amazing. So worth $10.

I took videos of all the environments years ago in case people were interested.

This is the thread I made about the game nearly 3 (!) years ago: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=331541

Haha, I'm not that much of a Valve whore.

To be fair I've totally blown my budget for the entire year for all systems, and I've only bought one console game this year (GT5) which is unusual for me. If I said "I bought new 10 console games this year" people probably wouldn't think I was as nuts, even though thanks to Canada's wacky backwards exchange rate mark-up it'd probably work out around the same. Instead I have a metric shit-ton of games on PC that'll keep me busy for a long, long time to come.

Also I went completely batshit insane at the start of January picking up a whole bunch of stuff at the tail end of the big winter sale. Thanks to Steam and GOG I literally have just about everything I could ever want on PC and them some (with the exception of old games that haven't yet reached DD, most of which I already own retail copies of).

Fake Edit: I have more games for my 700 bucks than Joe Molotov has for his 800 bucks. That makes me feel good. :-D

That's because I got sucked into buying DC Universe Online and Rift Collector's Edition. Damn MMOs, I can never get into them, but it doesn't stop me from buying them anyway. :p

All I bought this year was the Ubi pack they had a few weeks back which was Ass Creed, Far Cry 2, Rainbow Six Vegas and Call of Juarez for like $12 and now I just got Trackmania.

Next time Dead Space or Crysis go on sale I'll by those. I missed out on the EA week unfortunately. I'm also looking for Vegas 1 to go down in price more this week.

Tropico 4 will be a must for me when that comes out. Other then that I should be pretty good for the year, unless CoD2 or MW2 drop in price more.

Wow, less than $20, I'm actually impressed with myself. I spent way too much last year. Playing catch-up, maybe I'll buy Trackmania just 'cause.

Yay, Trackmanaia and for once the UK is the cheapest.

Half-Life Complete, AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!!

1 Jan 2011£1.02Purchase
Flight Control HD
£56.23 for erm like over 50 games...not bad.
What is bad is that only Yosumin and Everyday Genius: SquareLogic have been played and erm me owning nearly all the games in one of those indie packs (And Yet it Moves, Gish and Samorost 2 I already had...
Also, I dread what the summer sale will do to me...who knows I might wind up actually playing some games. Scary thought that.

So far only $121.29. That includes the last day of the holiday sale where I bought a lot of things that never got cheaper. Not TOO bad, IMO.

Steam has gripped me pretty hard (hah innuendo) but clearly nowhere near as hard as some of you guys.

It reminds me of that South Park episode. Randy can't resist buying a dozen hammers, because it's too good a deal to pass up!

Can someone compare the new Sam and Max games to the new Monkey Island games?

I enjoyed the latter and I'm a big fan of the classic Lucasarts adventure games.

I've only spent money so far on "big" mainstream titles. Stuff like Bioshock, Dead Space, Bad Company2, and hopefully Ass Creed 2 when it comes out.

I have spent about $125 so far (excluding parts of 2-packs and 4-packs that I hosted and was re-imbursed for).

not bad for 5 months I guess.

$40 of that was Portal 2 and another $23 was from the tail end of the holiday sale. The other $60 was for random $2-10 games.

Misleading because of the frees on there (although Shogun actually was free).

51.09, but actually 82.09 because of Portal 2 and the Frozenbyte bundle.

Looking back at some of those purchases really made me think about how I perceive value. One of my first purchases almost four years ago was Prey for 5 dollars and I thought that was a huge steal. Nowadays I don't know if I would buy it anymore unless it was in a pack with some other games, or an indie game.

I had that same issue. I no longer look at Steam sales as the money I'm saving; rather, the amount of bandwidth i'll use to download this. am i really going to install Trackmania or Dungeons?

I'll get Trackmania is someone from the UK can help me out. I can paypal/buy game of same price in advance. Its 5euros = 7 bucks there and im a cheap bastard D: specially considering i already played lots of it.

I definitely recommend Hoard to anyone interested, Pretty fun game.

So about Trackmania: I have the free version installed, been meaning to play it more but have only limited time with it. What I did play was pretty fun though. What does the paid version get me over the free?

~350€ for pretty much my whole Steam collection, including Portal 2 and TW2.

When 2011 began, the only Steam games I had were my physical HL copy registered back in the day and HL2 silver or whatever that package was called, and Episode 1.

Well, they are about equally good. I think Tales of Monkey Island is the better one of them, but that´s because I like the characters in that one better. Although, The Devil's Playhouse is a bit more varied when it comes to the puzzles.

(Did the 2 pack for Portal 2, $40)

$104.52 directly on Steam, $73.90 for Steamworks games, $40 for Portal 2, for a total of $218.42. I also received a decent number of games as gifts (Got Mafia 1, few of the Potato Sack games with a trade, the Valve Pack games).

So that is 26 games bought, 2 expansion packs, and one pack of Sega Games. Just counting the normal games, it comes to an average of $8.41 per game.
