LIST WARS, GO GO

I definitely recommend Hoard to anyone interested, Pretty fun game.

So about Trackmania: I have the free version installed, been meaning to play it more but have only limited time with it. What I did play was pretty fun though. What does the paid version get me over the free?
A ton of new environments, each with their own unique (and often superior) cars. The regular ol' Stadium event is just a small piece of the humongous pie.

What is it exactly? I might give it a try.
There's a new tower defense-esque SP mode:

Defender

  • An alternate ruleset for AI War, where your goal is to survive for a certain length of time instead of conquering the AIs. You can select as many starting homeworlds as you want, and then you must defend them from brutal AI aggression (the No Waves AI modifier won't help you here). It is HIGHLY recommended that you select multiple planets to start if you want any chance of survival (unlike in Conquest, this won't affect ship caps). As long as at least one of your homeworlds is standing when the timer runs out, you win! In trial mode, the max trial time is 1/3 of the time limit.
  • There are variants for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, 2 hours, and 4 hours. We don't allow more flexibility in the time limits because each one requires a specific balance to be playable.

Let's all confess our shame for the year. Post how much you've spent on Steam so far in 2011. Just be logged into your Steam account, click on ACCOUNT at the top right corner and view your purchases.

So far I've spent $154.

Wow, only $55. Look at all the value for $55 dollars.

Prince of Persia Complete Pack
Medal of Honor: Airborne
Need for Speed: Undercover
Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition
Metro 2033 Retail
Borderlands GOTY
Magicka + Wizard's Survival Kit + Vietnam (Gift for a friend)

Think I'll celebrate my frugality and buy the 15 Sam and Max games for $17.

Oops make that $75. Forgot:

Tomb Raider: Legend, Tomb Raider: Anniversary, Tomb Raider: Underworld (NA), Lara Croft GOL DLC: All the Trappings, Lara Croft GOL DLC: Hazardous Reunion and the Penny Arcade games.

Need for Speed: SHIFT
Portal 2 PS3 - PC Retail (was free)
Max Payne Bundle
Frozenbyte Collection Retail
Magicka + Wizard's Survival Kit + Vietnam
Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West
Gothic Complete Pack
Rome: Total War Gold
Ubisoft Weekend Deal Pack
Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3
Tomb Raider: Anniversary
Hitman: Blood Money
Penny Arcade Combo Pack

even more depressing is that the only games I've really gotten into on that list are Portal 2 and ArcaniA: Gotic IV

Haha, I'm not that much of a Valve whore.

To be fair I've totally blown my budget for the entire year for all systems, and I've only bought one console game this year (GT5) which is unusual for me. If I said "I bought new 10 console games this year" people probably wouldn't think I was as nuts, even though thanks to Canada's wacky backwards exchange rate mark-up it'd probably work out around the same. Instead I have a metric shit-ton of games on PC that'll keep me busy for a long, long time to come.

Also I went completely batshit insane at the start of January picking up a whole bunch of stuff at the tail end of the big winter sale. Thanks to Steam and GOG I literally have just about everything I could ever want on PC and them some (with the exception of old games that haven't yet reached DD, most of which I already own retail copies of).

Fake Edit: I have more games for my 700 bucks than Joe Molotov has for his 800 bucks. That makes me feel good. :-D

Prove it! Post the list.

Stop forcing me to scroll over your damn lists :p

This Naval Warfare game looks pretty interesting.

New release.
huh. that looks exactly like an XBLA game of a different name. Title switch.

Edit: Aqua was the name.

Critics gave high praise to the game's hand-drawn cutscenes and steampunk setting. Gameplay was received to mixed commentary among reviewers. Critics praised the game's length and some also praised Aqua for attempting to do more than typical twin-stick shooters, but others expressed disappointment in the number of escort missions and lack of online multiplayer.

My 2011 Steam purchases are at $8.99 (Universe Sandbox)

I activated the Humble Frozenbyte Bundle, and Metro 2033 from other sales.

My total spent on video games/systems this year however... $540.44

To anybody buying trackmania; know that your purchase is to be thought of only as a donation to Nadeo for making Trackmania Nations Forever, as you will hop in the rest of the content of the game only to find 3 other people playing the non-free stuff and never touch it again, later going back to the awesome free content.

So I see SC: Chaos Theory is on sale right now. Does anyone know if there is still people playing online? That multiplayer was badass.

TRACKMANIA IS AMAAAAAZING

I wish I knew about this sooner! It's incredibly addicting. It feeds the speedrun part of me that was never good enough to speedrun games.

I'm around $110 for Steam. Pretty happy with that! Not counting the fact that my brother bought me Dirt 3 and I've avoided pretty much all full-priced games on there.

I also bought Trackmania from D2D a short while back for $20. Still got my money's worth, but man I was waiting AGES for it on Steam :/

I've spent $240.82. Considering that over half that came from Portal 2, AC:Brotherhood, and Dragon Age II all new, I've gotten less than I normally do with that amount. But at least 2 out of those 3 were worth the full amount. I should have waited for a DAII sale.

I'm a 10$ and under fan from now on. *Smirk*

Decided to stop buying anything over 10$. Mainly just to keep the backlog in check.

For list wars, it looks like I spent somewhere around $172.36 so far this year, including gifts. Of course, almost half of that was the Portal 2 dual pack for $80.

I also just had a Steam moment looking back through my purchase history. "Cyan Complete, what on earth is that, did I buy that?" (Turns out it's the Myst game collection)

Just a warning: on many (if not all) modern graphics cards the Merc's flashlight is bugged and doesn't work. Anyone whose played a lot of Versus in CT knows that's a pretty big deal.
