What was the choppy terrain bug and how did you fix it?
With directx10 enabled the game was very choppy whilst driving or running , presumably because it had problems loading new chunks of terrain. Leaving it on dx9 fixed it.

Ok, that's good to hear. I'm only about 30 minutes into it but I was noticing some fairly severe framerate drops in DX10 mode when I was driving my car through the grass early on. I thought that it was odd that it was chugging on a 6870/2500k/4gb RAM with not even everything set to ultra but I guess that explains it. I dropped it down to DX9 and it seems better. It might be a dumb question but am I missing out on graphical effects by doing that? I found an article that said that performance was actually supposed to be better on DX10 when AA is on but it didn't really mention anything else.

The Ship was, I believe, the first game I purchased on Steam. Many hours wasted on that game, and I think I owe it to the developers to check out BGT. I actually know nothing about it.
It's basically a more chaotic "consolized" version of The Ship.

cool thanks.
Only problem is that you can only choose from a handful of the maps when playing offline with bots. Most aren't supported. Quite a bummer considering how much time and fun I had with the bots in 1942. I highly dislike how they are cutting bot support with each new revision.

Gamestop is apparently selling a steam registrable version of fallout 3 goty on their digital store for $15. I know fallout 3 is not a game you can normally register on steam, but I guess gamestop is selling a version that is. It has been confirmed by three people to work on steam in the cag thread.

Website for the deal: http://www.gamestop.com/collection/...7&sourceID=FKSJxY2VJAk-2afgYS4kpwuT6DWXSFtZYA

As always buyer beware, but now four people have confirmed it works on cag so it seems to be legit.

Anybody willing to trade me that against Just Cause 2 & Brothers in arms pack ?

Wow, been waiting for that. I might buy it now. Thanks!

I'm not sure if I've encountered the 'checkpoint' complaint people always had with this game, I think it had to do with checkpoints along the way that kept spawning enemies if you return to them? This doesn't seem like such a problem and it keeps you on your toes.. if you want you can always just drive through?

Good luck with that. I'll try to speed through the checkpoints, and my car will ALWAYS have black smoke after a second of gunfire.

Bought in. It was a pain in the ass. Now they are saying they need to review my order because my billing info didn't match up...ugh. What a joke setup...hopefully it works with STEAM!

EDIT: called the number in the email and apparently that's standard procedure for any new account with their digital download service. I called from the # on file with my CC and they "expedited" the process which meant within 20 minutes I received my key...and...it activates flawlessly on STEAM! :)

Thanks for the heads up coopolon!

Yea, I ordered Fallout 3 GotY from gamestop about 20 mins ago, I got that same fucking email. I call them up and they say, it's standard procedure and will happen ever time you purchase something from them. Of course, I said it will be the last time I order from them. Such bullshit, so I have to wait a half hour, to see if I get another email.

Guys, is World in Conflict worth it at that price? I just read some praise for it in a different thread, and if it's that good...

Just took advantage of the Fallout 3: GOTY deal and can confirm that it gives you a Steam registration code. Thanks! I didn't have to make any calls either.

Yes! It's a great game, but if you don't wanna pay I suppose you could wait for the Saturday and Sunday deals to make sure they aren't World in Conflict.

Thanks guys, it looked like it but I clicked the developer and it came up no results in the search, but I think it's just because it's updating because nothing is coming up at all for me.

Samarost 2 for $2 is not a bad deal. The game is clearly a predecessor to Machinarium and can be beaten pretty quickly but it is fun and solid.

is Ass1 or 2 the better game?
or should I just play them in order haha
I really liked the first one, but the second is WAY better. Personally, I say get both, but if you can only afford to get one game, get the second and look at some YouTube videos for the story of the first.

Assassin's Creed 2 is way better...but is still a pretty tedious game in the end thanks to all of the filler missions.

I'm tempted to get Brotherhood...but $33.50 seems like a steep price.
