This is exactly why I decided to give the codes away to everyone, it's my choice and I'm tired of see people complain because they missed a free giveaway to a "lurker". Entitled assholes.

Kind of thought that it was an interesting discussion to have around what the pros and cons of being part of an online community like NeoGAF are but maybe that's just me.

Sanctom is good fun with 3 friends in voice chat. The games does feel like it could use more maps though, I think we are going to run out of content at about the 10 hour mark.

Valve should simply alter their DLC policy to apply only to free-to-play games.

I have to disagree with you on this one, I don't want to have to deal with BS like Bioware points if I buy a game on steam. Let me buy any DLC I want through steam. I don't care if you also have an ingame store as well that sells the content, but I'm not interested in the content unless I can get it through steam.

I have enjoyed the time I hav put into Nimbus. Haven't played Sanctum yet, was hoping to do so tonight. I guess it depends on the type of game you want to play. Fun racing/platforming game or FPS tower/defense.

Does anyone know about any issues with Painkiller on modern hardware? I just got it. When I play without v-sync the fps goes from 300 to 600, it feels like everything is sped up and there's tearing. So I enabled triple buffering via D3DOverrider and every time I get hit by enemies, it feels like there's slowdown for a couple of seconds. It's very distracting.
Anyone else having these issues? I'd like to prevent the screen tearing, but the weird slowdown with v-sync is a bit too distracting. I got a Quad at 2.7 GHz and a HD5850.

I played Painkiller earlier in the year and couldn't get v-sync to work in any fashion. Was pretty annoying, and it was especially distracting with the melee blades spinning, which is some of the nastiest tearing I've ever seen. I just had to man up and play without (and play without ever spinning those blades). :/

Seems like an ATI problem. I just booted it up using D3Doverrider locked at 60fps no tearing.

It's possible, the Steam keys and the Desura key (It's only one) are different. No Onlive keys in this one.

Sanctum doesn't have a Desura version thought.
