Spawning the tape works but it freezes the game :(

What clan are you? I'm only a couple hours ahead of that part in my current Malkavian playthrough, I could upload a save.

The command makes the game freeze something is wrong in the way you have typed it. I know this because. I enabled god mode (fuck the combat) but there are two commands god and godmode on typing just god enabled god mode but froze my game the latter command worked fine. Sorry I can't help any further.

Tremere.

Here what I did for it to glitch. I guess it's related to this clan's haven/hideout?

-Finshed the last downtown mission from Lacroix and got send to Hollywood
-Talked to Isaac and got the first tape by going to the guy to the back alley, getting the "gingers swan' hint, asking Isaac about her and going to the gravyard to get the first tape
-Watched the first tape with Isaac, when to the porn store and got the passcode to tell on the phone. Got to motel key then the internet cafe key. Killed a bunch of baby gargoyles and got the second tape. Brought back the tape to Isaac, watched it and told me about a Gargoyle in a theater.
-Quest log told me to ask the Tremere Leader about the Gargoyle since I had a book about it in my inventory that I found there.
-When to him and he gave me a ward or whatever
-Killed the gargoyle and went back to the Tremere Guy and got the new hideout.
-When I go see Isaac he watches the second tape again and it warps me to the convenience store. He asks for the tape again and the other options are about asking him question about the clan and whatnot.
-Quest log showed that I dealt with Isaac's gargoyle problem

Doubt it as I get the message that I acquired the item I wanted to spawn at the top of the screen like you usually get when you pick up an item.

Right but the god command that froze my game also enabled god mode, I got the popup or whatever it that confirms it, can't remember atm. Perhaps there is another command to spawn an item? Maybe with a another word before it or something.

Well, at least I was able to trigger something. It seems like I can trigger the quest again by asking the Porn Store owner about DMP and their tape.

Will it glitch it even more, loop or unbreak the game if get it again ? The suspense is killing me.

Here's a pic of my Quest Log. Spoilers, I guess.

It shows the
gargoyle thing as being completed on the right, yet the quest for the tape is now active gain.

I bought BioShock 2 and it's asking me for a "serial code." Where do I find this? I read somewhere it's with the billing info but when I checked the receipt in my email account, I saw no such code. :-\

Shouldn't that just be the CD-key that can be found in your Steam library?

Right click on Bioshock 2 in steam and then click on view Game CD Code

Snuggler's right, you should find it by right clicking the title and going to the cd-key link in your library.

I unglitched the main plot but there's still something glitched lol. Basically, I didn't go see the Tremere guy and went straight to the
gargoyle
(I already have the charm anyway) then back to Isaac. I got the King's way quest and a new location on the city map. The Tremere guy is now glitched though, he talks about the
gargoyle
again but I still have my hideout there. Do I need this guy for a mandatory quest later on? If not, I lose nothing from having him glitched?

I think you'll be fine. Even if you do meet him again later in the game, that shouldn't effect anything. Glad you survived the ordeal, though.

Thanks for your suggestions anyway :) . Can't imagine how was the game without the fans' patch. (well I can a bit as it wouldn't even boot without it for me).

Great PC support aside, how's DMC4 in terms of gameplay and story? Feeling iffy about giving Capcom money for a game that's supposed to be on sale. :-/

Keep in mind I'm new to the DMC series for the most part, but I've enjoyed DMC4's gameplay so far. I've put in almost 10 hours over the weekend. The main attraction is the combat, which is more accessible than something like Ninja Gaiden (the move sets are easy) but still challenging and deep if you're not playing on human (easy mode). Apparently it's not the high point of the series, but it's probably the best character action game on Steam, not that there's much competition. It exceeded my expectations and I'm happy with the $10 I spent.

The story seemed really dumb so I've been skipping cutscenes, but it's not an important part of the game.

That did the trick!

There seems to be a weird glitch in this game (BioShock 2), though, where the water textures are muddled colors, and then the colors on the walls started appearing as rainbow hues. o_O

So, I quit... I wonder if I just need to restart. Anyone hear of this before?

Story is iffy and mostly caters to preexisting fans. Gameplay is one of the best combat systems I ever had a pleasure to play although the level design leaves something to be desired when you backtrack later. Some bosses are repeated but the game is great fun.

Here's A.R.E.S Bersker suit DLC for anyone that wants it:

And since I'm not sure if anyone reclaimed the Violator DLC for sanctum earlier here it is again:

Desura is great for one-click installing mods for Source games since they'll show up in your Steam list to launch.

Wish the Linux version would work right though.

it's pretty short, should take less than 2hrs to complete. you should however hang around and listen to enemy chatter, it's pretty funny.

A question: is Minerva's Den, relative to its length, worth 800 space bucks? Those familiar with my presence in BioShock-related threads will know that I am, to put it faintly, not the biggest fan of BioShock 2 overall, however I've heard too many positive opinions on the aforementioned DLC to ignore it and now, thanks to T-Mobile, I have sufficient MS Points to donate to the cause.

I love silly enemy chatter, good looking out. I'll hold off a bit before pumping faces full of bullets then!

I certainly think so, yes. DLC done right. What stuck out to me most was its story and level design. Wahl (I believe it was) wasn't exactly a fantastic antagonist, probably the only real knock against Minerva's Den, but Porter was an excellent character. They really fleshed him out, made him and his struggles feel genuine. There was a lot of heart put into him talking about his wife, for example. I loved how all of that unraveled. Level design is probably the best in the series too, there are only two real 'levels' but they're gigantic, well structured, lots to them, so much to sort through. Proper FPS design. Ending was wonderful as well. The whole thing stayed consistently great, really.

On the other hand, I'm one of those weirdos who actually liked Bioshock 2, so what the fuck do I know lawl.

I guess it's my turn.

I have Steam keys for Sanctum and all 3 DLC. If you take them, you have to become my best friend. First quote gets a PM w/ keys.

just wondering are there any EA titles being listed or is the steam register now being cryptic about game titles being released?

Nothing from EA in there recently, can't notice anything cryptic either. There's the typical 'ValveTestApp<xxxx>' entries which could be anything though.

Sterling. I took no issue with the core gameplay of BioShock 2, however the writing is something I feel suffered a regress in the sequel and so it's nice to hear Minerva's Den seemingly delivers in this area.

To be fair, I enjoyed the game enough for its own merit to finish the campaign.

I've yet to play Bioshock 2 or its DLC but the consensus seems to be that Minerva's Den is a really good addition to the series and not only the second game. To the extent that Irrational hired its writer/lead designer Steve Gaynor.
