If somebody orders an extra K&L2 from newegg, here I am with my paypal account ready waiting for the serial key! It's steamworks, right?

Not sure which GAFer it was, but thanks very much to whoever gifted me The Whispered World ages ago when I didn't have the cash for it on the sale.

Finally got around to starting it today and it's great. It looks gorgeous and so far the world is really sucking me in.

It always makes me happy to play a new adventure game!

Should I use a gamepad when playing Dustforce or is the keyboard setup on equal footing?

There are no pressure sensitive controls and few input commands so they are mostly equal. I personally use a controller because it feels more natural.

Recommended 360 button layout:

A: Jump
B: Heavy Attack
X: Dash
Y: Light Attack

Start: Quick Restart

Movement: Analog or D-Pad

This way you can use "A" to accept/confirm and "B" to cancel while navigating menus. Setting "Start" to quick restart will allow you to bring up the menu with the start button while in-game.

Mapping attack to B and Y allows you to easily press both buttons to initiate your AOE attack. Heavy attack on "B" keeps it close to jump so you can one-shot mid-air enemies for faster times.

X as Dash keeps it simple by mapping everything to the face buttons and it tends to work better since you will be tapping dash a lot to get good times.

I just recieved a PR email from SEGA saying that Sonic CD, Sonic Generations' Casino Level and Sonic 4: Ep 1 will be available today... Could we see a Sonic Weekend Deal today?

If this isn't true, here is a taste of what you can expect:

I still have a copy of sonic cd laying around here somewhere. But I suppose mine doesn't have the japanese music.

It's more than just that, from Sonic Retro:

Unlike other attempts at bringing classic Sonic games to new platforms in the late 2000s (usually handled by Backbone Entertainment), this Sonic CD is neither a port of the original game nor an emulated version. It was re-built from scratch, allowing for a number of enhancements such as widescreen support, online features (such as leaderboards), filters to change the way the game is displayed and a Sonic the Hedgehog 2-styled spindash option. When the game is beaten once, Tails is unlocked. It is otherwise faithful to the original game.

Other changes include reduced loading times, better scaling for the UFOs in the Special Stages, a number of bugfixes and a constant framerate of 60FPS.

Sonic CD comes with these costumes for Spiral Knights:

They should have done TF2 items instead. People would kill for the chance to put two tails on their Heavy.

Actually only the Sonic suit comes with the game, the Tails accessory is an item you can now buy in Spiral Knights.

Sonic CD is everything done right. Good port on a new retro engine, steam achievements, great price (no dollar = euro) and low to begin with. SEGA gets PC gaming quite right. (Everybody hates sonic 4 tho lol so not buying that)

Definitely. 5$ for this is a steal.

The game has very bad physics that make it a pain to play. Here's an example.

It's a Sonic game?

It just doesn't "feel" right. It's also expensive for what you get.

However, I have it on Xbox and it's not as bad as people make it out to be.

So it does. Boy, is my face red.

Edit: As for Sonic 4, it's a bit short but it's good fun. Certainly overpriced on Steam.

ok, yeah I'll probably avoid it for the time being.

I preordered Sonic CD on Gamersgate a few weeks back and they've yet to supply me my CD-key. Should I make a thread calling people who buy from Gamersgate "ballwashers?"
