Man, as a fan of the first Darkness, I don't feel into the demo of Darkness 2 at all. They took most all of the things that I enjoyed and changed them. In the Darkness 1 I felt like I was in perfect control of this super powerful tank, with the interesting aiming included. This just feels like a regular shooter with Darkness things added to it. The Darkness powers don't seem like anything I have control over. I mean, sure I'm hitting the buttons, but it just feels like animations playing out after I hit the buttons. I get that they want to include action packed sequences in the demo, but what I played just seems to lack the atmosphere that I loved about the first one.

Shooting up the subway station was a huge bummer since I remember the great times I spent there in the first one, just walking around talking to people. Watching TV, and calling random phones. In this, I couldn't do anything with them, and just ran by them into another bunch of shooting. Plus the voice actor change is a step down.

Looks and runs great, but it's not the follow up to The Darkness that I wanted in any way.

Oil Rusk, Serious Sam 2, Star Trek Free to Play, Assassin's Creed Revelations DLC, and some other DLC will be added to Steam soon. Trailers were just added and that usually seems like a good indication that it'll be released in a day or two.

DotA2 works like L4D does, you create a game and parties and then the game finds a server for you rather than in the WC3 DOTA/RTS-in-general method where someone hosts the game and people connect to the host, etc.

That's a really good description of RAGE. In summary: it's compelling but not enjoyable.

*hides from Jase*

If mowing down mutant after mutant with the shotgun doesn't feel satisfying, there is something wrong with you. :p

Mowing down freaks while driving about the wasteland made be pine for another Carmageddon. I hope Stainless can get Reincarnation off the ground.

Amazing how Dota 2 is almost better than Starcraft 2 in it's multiplayer support... and it's not even out yet. The only thing they need now is the playerbase to make the match making actually work.

Ironically, I wasn't at all interested in Dota 2 until I completed the Christmas achievement for Rise of Immortals.

What I'm saying is: throw me a beta invite, Valve.

Surprised and pleased with The Darkness II demo. Hardly going to the top of my most wanted in 2012 list, but I'd be frontin' hard if I said I didn't get a good kick out of the way you shred people in the game. Aesthetics are nice, clean. Guns feel right. Very happy you're given the option to turn off all that XP nonsense too.

Will buy! Eventually, anyway.

Anyone wanna trade Dead Space for Painkiller Complete Pack?

Suddenly I got the urge to play it after trying out the demo and these are games that I never played but I heard that are pretty good, is this true GAF?

Just tried the Darkness II demo, ran at 1080p with high details on my 5770 and the game ran beautifully.

I was so impressed with the demo, I did a search on Steam for the first game thinking I should catch up with the story only to find out it was never released on PC. :-(

Darkness II Demo was nice. Prolly will wait for a heavy discount, but I loved it and the story seems nice as well.
Ran well on my 5970 at 1980x1200 all max even if only one videocard was being used.

I'm enjoying the alien levels in Crysis. I was under the impression that they're terrible.

I disliked the zero gravity one as I was constantly disoriented but the stuff after I really enjoyed as you're forced to change roles from predator to prey.

Prey being run down a linear path. Which is when it became just another regular FPS game.

This is how I felt too. I mean, I'd definitely say they're a step down from the North Koreans, but I expected to loathe the game by that point, based on what everyone else said. Still had fun!

I thought this was wild. I had no idea what to expect and it blew my mind. Super pretty, too.

A couple of times I found myself lost and confused while picking through the alien ammo depots (how I managed this in such a small space, I don't know), but that's about it. Could've been worse!

At the moment, the game is a helicopter sim, which is unfortunate since I'm terrible at flying games. :p

Edit: The game crashed, and when I reloaded my save there were half as many aliens to deal with. Easy as cherry pie.

Being pushed along the alien pneumatic tubes was fantastic. Visually, it was something straight out of a yesteryear sci-fi movie.

Marvel Pinball by Zen Studios will most likely be on Steam soon. The official website says that the game will soon be available for Games for Windows and an employee from Zen Studios has already said that Steam is a must if they decided to make one of their pinball games for the PC.

By a vocal group. They're linear, which makes them a radical departure from the earlier levels that were so good. But they're darn pretty. I've replayed the game probably 5 times and never found them boring. Not as good, but still quite enjoyable.

Does Warhead have any similar levels?

From what I've been told, the entire game is more linear. I think Warhead is more like the latter levels of Crysis.

Someone else will have to chime in, though. Because while it's in my Steam library, I've still yet to play Warhead. :lol

Warhead was mostly (maybe entirely?) linear but I had enough fun with it.

That's unfortunate, but not a deal breaker.

Speaking of Pinball, anyone else disappointed that there are no leaderboards for the Sonic Generations, Casino Night DLC? I thought it was really fun. Sega should try their hand at another full Sonic Pinball title as a DD release.

What is the combat in Titan Quest like? Is it point/click/watch attack animation?

Pretty much yeah, same as Diablo.

Oh here is a photo album from the OG TQ campaign if anyone is curious: http://minus.com/mzQbC8TZP#1

And I used this patch on my playthrough that I just completed last week: http://www.titanquest.net/tq-forum/threads/29712-REL-Bugfix-patch-1.17
It contains only bugfixes and corrections to dev mistakes/mistypes. No balance changes are made, it basically tries to perfect Iron Lore's original vision.

yes From Dust is frame capped at 30. (i did see mention of a frame unlocker on google ...no idea if it works)

yes the xbox360 controller works very well with the game.

enable vsync outside of the game via D3Doverrider or your video card control panel.

enable anti aliasing via the Nvidia control panel (not sure if AMD can do this ...i haven't owned an ATI card since the mid 90s).
