Yeah, there are 3 bot difficulty settings plus the harmless difficulty where they don't attack. Bots function in every mode and map, even custom ones.
Yeah, pretty much this. If you are a thread regular, people are much more willing to help you with paypal. There is zero incentive to help someone popping up in the thread for the first time and no guarantee they won't try to fuck you.

Yes, there are bot matches and yes, you do earn achievements for any type of match you join. You can also do the more casual modes such as Deathmatch, Arms Race (Gun Game), and Casual mode. People don't yell in those modes. Just stay away from competitive matchmaking, since that requires you to commit at most 90 minutes.
People help each other out in this thread all the time, you just decided to throw a fit because someone didn't help you by some arbitrary deadline.

I can't install any new Steam games and get the error "An Error Occurred While Installing [Game Name] (update suspended)" and the only solution I can find it to reinstall Steam, but I don't exactly want to lose all of my installed games... can anyone help?
Don't feel so bad: I joined the group the moment it went up, but I didn't start selling anything until today. I didn't even register this could be a money making operation until I saw people going insane on the thread.
Delete everything from the Steam folder except the "SteamApps" subfolder. All your games will still be there when you reinstall steam.

It's also weird to automatically assume that just because 6 people were actively posting in this thread, any one of them would be in a position to help with Paypal purchase issues. We have members from all around the world, and many of them can't do those types of purchases to begin with, for one reason or another.

Just out of interest- I've started installing games on a second drive, so my collection's split between the two at present. If I were to do something similar, would the Steam app pick up that I've also got games on a separate volume, or is there something I would need to do to link them?
Don't delete Steam.exe of course. Run that, and it'll download/install all required files.

That's the one thing I don't know. IIRC, there's a file that holds what game is installed where (kinda like shortcuts.vdf). I don't know which file is that, and I don't know if keeping it would solve that issue.

There are max 80k invites (20k users in the beta, and each has three additional invites) in the wild, yet 140k Steam users are in the Steam group, so 60k cannot have one. I expect the invites to sell really quickly.
