I never understood the GFWL hate. I played through arkham asylum and arkham city on PC with no problems. GFWL always worked fine for me. If it had steamworks cloud saves it would have been great
During the XBL DDoS outage a few weeks ago, I temporarily lost all progress in Flatout UC because it uses GFWL.

Beyond the overtly irritating things like that, there's just no interest in the service from either Microsoft themselves or people who game primarily on PC. How many fan/community sites do you see devoted to GFWL, versus Steamworks fan sites for things like achievements?

While you all dance on GWFL's grave, I'm over here mourning the loss of a source of real achievements.

Steam achievements are crap :(

I agree with you man. I was a huge XBox gamer and loved getting achievements in my games, they just blow on Steam and provide no real pleasure. They need to add a total "gamerscore" visible on the profile

They're doing something similar to that with the Achievement Showcase in the new profile beta.

I wish Valve had its own branding that people could use for Steamworks games, but this is a pretty good sign we've finally killed the beast.

It probably uses Uplay.

Or Origin.

Or both.

Wow, your sample group definitely gave you a well defined look at GFWL and what it did to PC gaming.

Sure.

Lvl11 and I still don't have it.

Do you know how to enable profile showcases? You should have it at ten but only be able to display one.

At level 20 you can display two.

You have them all unlocked at 10 though.

Bah, I completely forgot I was supposed to be keeping an eye the progress bar.

Jase!!

'Works fine for me' is never a relevant argument.

I felt the same as you until GFWL ate my ~80% complete Arkham City save. Had to do a system restore to recover a week old version. Never again.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
I don't care if my neighbor is a serial killer. He's never done anything to me.

Quit Snitchin'.

Every sign that GFWL is dying/dead makes me happy. I'm currently playing around with GTA IV and I'd like to organize MP sessions but GFWL just makes it way more complicated than it needs to be. In a perfect world, I'd just set up a server and Gaffers or whoever could join.

Can anyone sell me on The Book of Unwritten Tales? Would an adult like it?
I just finished it and enjoyed it a lot. Not sure why an adult wouldn't like it. It's not explicitly a kid's game, beyond having some vaguely Disneyish colorful artwork. It's a fairly length point-and-click (11 hours by my count), with surprisingly good voiceovers. There's some "gamer humor" sprinkled in.

It's an easier game than Deponia imho, where you have to wade through a lot of extraneous dialogue. It also has highspot highlighting to help you along, if you want to use it.

Thanks, grabbed one

Reformed Xbox gamer. I can't stand to play on it anymore because of how bad the games look compared to on my computer. But with GFWL I could still increase my epeen and chat with my xbox live friends. Sigh.

No, real achievements. When I depart from this world my gamerscore will be remembered for eons to come.

1. Stop being silly.

2. Your Xbox friends will soon join the 21st century with Skype on the xbox 3. :)

Now I am hyped for CoJ: Gunslinger

Gunslinger is such a good time. I went in with absolutely no expectations either way, and absolutely loved my weekend with it. I certainly couldn’t help wondering how fantastic it would have been for it to be an open world game, with the levels as missions within. It does make that incredibly stupid faux pas of having areas of the sprawling levels you’re just not allowed to walk toward – “You’re wandering from the story” – which rather emphasises that point. But within its own restrictions, it remains the most fun I’ve had with a shooter in ages

This is an official promotion we're doing to hype up the 4th game (which now has an official release date for June 7!).

Nice! I loved Cthulhu Saves the World (as you can see from the avatar).
Downloading now.
I didn't play the first 2 though. :\

I would be interested in Gunslinger if it wasn't for the main character having 4 pistols and packing like a one-man army.

EDIT: This shot illustrates my initial problems with the character/gear aesthetics of the game.

...But aren't you supposed to be a one man army?

very, very awesome. I've taken too long to jump on board. Will be picking up the first two during Summer Seal.

Sleepy Dogs links to Unreal Franchise (correct : http://store.steampowered.com/app/202170/)

Also, no sleepy dogs DLC on sale. Lame, guess i'm waiting for Summer
