I didn't enjoy Bioshock Infinite for the first 3-4 hours but after completing it, it became my goty. Many times a game doesn't open up until 2-3 hours in.
Not my GOTY but Infinite is on my shortlist for GOTY simply because anything else this year has either been more disappointing or hasn't come out for me yet to play and evaluate.

I think Infinite is a pretty good game but I could go on about all it's flaws.... well not flaws, but shortcomings might be a better word. But as it stands, it is pretty much the best game to come out in 2013 that I've played to date.

I wouldn't complain if he stopped playing after 5 minutes because he thought the game sucked. I do that all the time. I don't feel obligated to endure an agonizing experience just because I paid money for a game. I don't understand why anyone would.

Yeah, but how are people, regardless of liking a game or not, able to base their opinion if they don't thoroughly play it. Come on, if we were in the same position and Salsa only played 5-10 minutes of the game, you would be arguing that he doesn't have a fair opinion to base his disdain for the game. You can argue now that you wouldn't complain, because it suits your argument. I've seen this way too many times to think otherwise.

I just find the whole argument of not playing enough and playing too much and talking shit to be an annoying point to stand on is all. I wish people would stop using it.

No ill will towards you, just sayin'.

I just discovered that I have 6 Dota beta keys. What do I do with them?

Use them as souvenirs.

What about, if you want to form an opinion you can't base it on nothing? You need to play it to figure out every detail, so that you may voice your opinion...

That's like telling a game journalist, "why bother playing it and giving it a score, we all know it's bad anyways". For every time I heard that, and a great game came out of it, I'd be rich.

Not the best analogy, but it makes the point.
A games journalist gets paid to review bad games. A gamer pays to suffer through bad games. Small difference there.

Don't watch bad films.
I don't. The only one I recall seeing on purpose was Plan 9 from Outer Space, just to see if it was as bad as everyone said. And yes, it was.

Probably because 5 minutes isn't long enough to actually tell if a game sucks.

For example I didn't like the original Deus Ex at all the first couple of hours but I stuck with it and ended up loving it.

Sure, it's doesn't always work out that way but if you've bought a game you might as well actually give it a chance.

At the rate of 2 cents a piece, he has almost $500 worth of Dota invites if he could sell them on the community market. The market only allows 200 sales per year though.

Can Dishonored The Knife of Dunwall be purchased on the american steam? It's up on the UK store for me, but no price. Was just wondering if it were up for you guys, how much is it?

Baldurs Gate 2 is the classic example of this. Skyrim is the classic anti-example.

But if you have more things to play, then wasting time on a game you're not digging could not be very productive.

Usually it's the other way round for me. I start really enjoying the game, and after a couple of hours I get bored, or realise it's not as good as the first few hours made me believe.

And the beginning of Deus Ex is amazing. How could someone not like it?

I've heard that complaint a lot actually. The statue of liberty area can be pretty boring.

So, Ghostbusters: The Videogame is the Daily over at GamersGate, which has me wondering why Atari saw fit to pull it from Steam about a year ago.

Second-rate Anihawk
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory suddenly became a lot more fun when someone suggested I do a ghost run. (Not being detected, not having enemies notice lights being out, keypads being hacked, etc)

Too bad I'm awful at stealth games and have to constantly reload.

If you are a boring player, sure.

Eh, It's more that you don't really know what you're doing at that point. At least if it's your first time playing the game. Also, because the shooting is influenced by your stats that's not very fun at the start either.

Same with, say, the original X-com back in the day. I doubt anyone enjoyed that right off the bat just because of the controls and UI which take a while to get used to.

I thought that Atari lost the rights. Maybe they lost the rights to sell through American vendors.

So long as you found the most entertaining way to play for yourself, who cares?

Not knowing what you are doing is exciting. You get you ass handed to you. But Deus Ex has a really thorough tutorial that explains like every mechanic.

I gave Deus Ex at least two hours before I couldn't stand how bored I was of it's shit combat, too-big hub areas, and hideous visuals. Not to mention I really don't give a damn about non-linear/player agency/oooh all the choices

I've rarely forced myself though a game I don't enjoy. Life is too short to spent playing boring video games. Especially just so you can check something off your fuckin' backlog, of all the pointless things.

How bizarre. I'm glad I got it though, I was really pleased with the game. They did some really cool things.

All that comes to mind when I think of the game is the promises made of the PS3 version, only for it to be the worst of the lot. A later patch improved things, but it still fell short of its X360 counterpart.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
The price for the Sonic bundle on GetGamesGo is inaccurate: it doesn't show the cost to your soul for having paid money for Sonic 4.

...why did you even try it then? Sounds like you didn't like a game where its basis is...something you don't like?

I'm surprised you beat Half Life 2 then.

The boat section was horrible.

I did a mix of both, it was whatever I was feeling at the time.

Ghost Runs do make you feel like a bad ass, but sometimes you just want to whip out your air foil rounds.

Edit: Chloe Moretz did voicework in Dishonored. Just like that, I'm back on topic!
