Steam needs to hire some customer service people for direct text chat for real.

I submitted a ticket 3 days ago for a billing error that resulted in me getting charged 3 times on my bank statement for the same game, first time it's ever happened, but still.

No response yet...

I'm not really that mad but if the game was $60 (x3), I'd be furious.

The customer service isn't ideal, but I also would prefer it not be a large group of outsourced people reading off a script with no real understanding of what's happening or going on.

Neither would I of course, but hire 5 people to work at the headquarters for direct chat during business hours. It's not like he can't afford them. Make it billing issues only etc etc

I don't want to get too far into napkin math, but I think you'd need a hell of a lot more people than 5.

Granted your point still stands about it not really being a money issue for them anyway.

Is Bad Company 2 worth buying? Is it more of a single player or multiplayer focused game?

One of the very few MP games I've ever been able to enjoy but me and some friends played the PC version probably 6 months ago and there wasn't a ton of people playing, even less in newbie servers. So I have no idea how few are playing today.

You absolutely must buy it. Looks very nice to this day, fantastic multiplayer with an still active community. The single player deserves a lot more credit than its given, i'll dare say that no COD game has a single player as good.

man Steam really needs a better way to organize games

let me hide them, use more than 1 category, bulk edit,

at least let me edit them in a browser, using the client is such a pain in the ass

Can I use coupons on top of sales? For instance, if runner 2 goes on 75 % sale, can I use a 25 % off coupon on top of that?

As a general rule anymore, no. When coupons first became a thing we got away with it far more often, now it's rare to see them stack.

Steam Coupon FAQ:

Can I use coupons on already discounted items?

  • Coupons are not valid on discounted items unless specified otherwise.

Runner 2 is unsurprisingly brilliant

that said, I dont know how I feel about the "triple perfect+" method

it just feels like cheap replayability. Not only do I have to shoot the cannon 3 times, wich can be random, but also it should give me the 3 perfects once I perfect the level on Hard, instead of making me go back and play 2 other easier versions of that level

it's silly

other than that great

Mmm bad bad very bad...im waiting for a Sniper: Ghost Warrior sale for my 90% coupon...time to go to Origin...

Two Dark Souls questions: how is it, vanilla, compared to the console versions? Also, it was just on sale like a week ago, wasn't it. : (

It's a very poor port, locked resolution (like 720p) and 30fps (at least it's without drops).
Use DSFix for unlocked res and framerate.

Any opinions on Sang-froid: Tales of Werewolves? The impressions I've seen so far are positive.

We should trick Stallion into buying it before he realizes it's a tower defense game.

Its arguably not a bad port.

No real performance issues.
I haven't had any crashes in 150 hours of gameplay.
Both frame rate and resolution are fixed with mods, the latter was fixed literally before the game came out.
Use a controller.

It's gonna be sold as day one DLC once the game is out proper, which is still lame (should be part of the base game).

It's like if Irrational sold 1999 Mode for Bioshock Infinite as day one DLC.

There you go, Bethesda. If you use that idea in Doom 4, you can PM for my bank account number, where you can send me a royalty cut. But only if you buy the NeoGAF PM DLC®, which unleashes the true potential of a GAF pro user and lets him send and receive messages like he were living in the future!*

*there are no refunds for this product. The user must be always online in order to use it.

Like a day ago.

Jesus. : ( Guess I'll be waiting until the summer sale.

Also, it uses GFWL.
Man, I'd like to replay it on pc...

cool new thread. yes we do complain.

thx for the tip on the Borderlands 2 on Amazon guys. im with others they need better ways to get the word out on their pc game deals. the page is so archaic too. love the Amazon tho they always treat you right.

just a comment, the OP says that the Linux client is still in beta. It actually isn't in beta anymore.

Well, not that it really matters. No one reads the OP for OT number 2, anyway.

Not much that interests me on the getloadedgo.com sale but I would like to grab AA:GOTY. Anybody interested in any of the other games on that list? Split the deal or trade for another title?

ok so from that getgamesgo $10 promo, which are the best 2 games:

Mafia 2
Serious Sam 3: BFE
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
Quantum Conundrum
(also Batman AA GOTY, but I've already played it on console, is the DLC worth a replay?)

The only good one on that list is Mafia 2. The rest are varying levels of bad. I was weirdly fond of OpFor, but I don't think it's worth 5$. The Batman AA DLC is just challenge maps IIRC so if you aren't planning on replaying the actual game then ignore it.

I enjoyed QC. Pales when compared against Portal but when enjoyed for what it is I found the puzzles fun to work through and the humour not entirely insulting.

Do you guys think the Valve controller is happening and do you think it will be out this year?

Better question, who wants one? The 360 pad isn't perfect, but it is and for the foreseeable future, will remain the standard controller for PC gaming. If Microsauce releases one with a good dpad it will be the perfect controller, I don't want to readjust to something else.

I want one. Valve is the only other company that could push a controller that would be adopted by a lot of developers. I'm sure it'll be xinput compatible, too. So there won't be much to relearn.

I think it would be cool and maybe have an actual good dpad and better face buttons. Also i think it will be better for a standard PC controller and have it's own identity without sharing it with the 360 controller.
