Guacamelee is great so far. And they have keyboard and controller bindings and you can use both at once and there is vsync and different resolutions and mouse for menus and Steam workshop and all sorts of things that might seem normal but may be lacking from some PC ports!

The style, gameplay, music, and art are really nice, even aside from whether or not you like the background art meme images.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
I'll stop being snarky for a moment to ask, besides Analogue (which I played an enjoyed), what are the best visual novels on PC?

Visual novels as sex games are just so boring anyways. If you want to jerk it, just look at porn instead of the IV drip you'd get from those kind of games anyways.

It's all about the build up man.

You can get from GOG for a DRM free copy and through the Humble Store widget on the developer's site for both a DRM free copy and a Steam Key as well. They're all the same price ($10) though.

Thanks, will grab the Humble version when I'm not so poor in a few days(hopefully)

I've been playing The Walking Dead for the last 3 days and I can't believe how good it is, only beaten the first two chapters so far, but damn, the writing and atmosphere are really good.

¿Is the DLC worth it? ¿How long is it?

I may eventually run into combos that I can't do with the keyboard (I bought the suplex but haven't figured out how to use it), but so far keyboard is working well for Guacamelee.

Pretty much the only complaint I have is the fullscreen seizure flash for new powerups. I know they warn you at the start of the game, but if they just had a menu or config file option to disable that one effect, it would be awesome.

That's so steambox it hurts

If JAST was to put Steins; Gate up on greenlight, it'd be the first visual novel to make it through. I bet money on it.

I think it's going to happen, personally.

I'm surprised they haven't yet, honestly. I thought for sure A Hate Story was going to open the way for more tame VNs to show up on the service and so far the closest things we have are Magical Diary, Cherry Tree High Comedy Club and Bioware games. Kinda disappointing.

The DLC is something like an hour and half to two hours long. It tells five different stories with completely new characters. The writing is pretty good, as usual. The problem is that since you spend so little time with each character, you don't get to have as much emotional investment with each of them as you do with the characters from the regular game.

Still pretty good though, and the DLC will tie in somehow to Season 2. If you've enjoyed what you've played of The Walking Dead so far, then yeah, get the DLC.

haha

But, you're right; I'm surprised they haven't already put it up too. According to their twitter, they're going to work there usual release out first, with first details coming later this month, then work on Steam (if possible).

Spelunky is fun, but I think I'm a little burnt out on the genre.

Anybody want to team up with me to make a rogue-like metroidvania with retro inspired 16-bit pixel graphics and intense zombie survival action?

Want to mix things up.

Sounds interesting, where do I sign up as programmer? :)

Thanks, I just saw the price, too expensive at 5€ for just an hour of content, will wait for 75% off.

OK so this is a question. Is there any actual way to change the assigned quadrant of a 360 controller hooked up to a pc? If I have a gamepad hooked up assigned to quadrant 1 and plug in a fight stick for some skullgirls it gets assigned to quadrant 2, even if I've unplugged the original gamepad first. There doesn't seem to be any way to change the assignment after the fact - and indeed plugging the original gamepad in more often than not ends up with it being assigned quadrant 3. I've found the only way to resolve the problem is to unplug everything, reboot the pc and then plug in the fight stick first to make sure it gets quadrant 1.

How on earth can there be no "change quadrant/player number" option?

Anyone? This is seriously dumb, if there's no way to change it.

I don't think there is. It's a similar story on the X360* where you have to turn off the controllers to switch assignment -- there's no option for it a la the PS3.

* Last I played one, anyway.

Oh rock of ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still. Oh lady moon shine down, a little people magic if you will.
That's like a really obtuse cheatcode. If that came up in a game i'd prolly put it down and not play it again.
It's not as botuse as it looks.
It's still frigging hard, though.

You're probably wondering who the heck is Salsa. Well, that's me :D I have an youtube channel and this skin is a little something for all my viewers, subs, friends and whoever else finds it amusing! The skin will be properly launched on my next video, which will be about Guacamelee of course.

pretty game continues to be pretty

and bless that fov fix

Woah, there's a FOV fix? I did a quick search and came up with something called widescreen fixer but that only lists RE6, is that the one you used? (Do I just apply the RE6 fix to RE5?)

And piss filter? what?

Edit: just checked this out - Youtube RE5 colour mod comparison

Wow that's quite a difference... now I'm not sure if I want to play it with the intended colour which I think is intended to make it feel scarier or with those glorious colours... tough decision.

There is one for RE5, and you have to adjust ALL the camera settings manually unless someone who has good ones can give you their config.

Yes, you can actually play in color.

Let's be real, nothing about this game is scary. All it does is make it visually monotonous and lose detail from both blowing out highlights and crushing shadows.

Guacamelee is pretty good so far. Love the art, meh on the story, dialogue or memes. Will play some more when I'm back from the gym but can't stop thinking about it.

yeah, love those modded rainbow colors in the fuckin swamp area

...

im on my phone atm, but the fov fixed I used is just one file you gotta replace. I just googled it

You know what I'd love to see on Steam?

A revamped Steamworks-integrated version of the flash game Happy Wheels. Anyone else here play that game? It is amazing and endlessly hilarious

I could only imagine what they could accomplish with a bigger budget. More detailed gore, more vehicles and characters, better physics, better graphics

I've been surprised before. Didnt expect Toribash and Need for Madness to be on Greenlight so it could happen

Don't lean too much on that, you'll only make it harder on yourself later.

maybe in NG+, but in the first run i had no trouble at all pumping the hell out of pyromancy and ignoring my other stats pretty badly. with a few extra attunement slots (i had 7 my first playthru) pretty much every boss in the game is a joke when you pull out chaos fireballs and firestorm. honestly i had more fun being the god of fire than in my subsequent melee focused playthru

Amazon.co.uk have FINALLY added a digital games store to their website. Prices are still a little high, and perhaps STILL cheaper to buy from US Digital Store.

Nice update:

We have just updated the beta, with the following changes:

- change Steam to not require a restart when going from offline mode to online mode at login time
- fixed cases where the client could become stuck in Offline Mode
- fixed timeout error uploading or downloading Workshop items to the Steam Cloud
- fixed bug that prevented login after encountering a network error
- fixed loading sound caches for Zombie Panic Source Mod

Big Picture:

- Decreased texture memory usage and increased performance in some scenarios where parts of the UI are transformed offscreen
- Added new multi-user login and create account UIs
- Added shutdown UI
- Added Go Offline / Go Online to the Quit UI
- Added network connectivity error UI during login
- Improved OpenGL renderer (used on OSX and Linux), added support for more complex gradient types, fixed inset shadow renderering and fixed jittering of some effects due to float to int rounding

Linux:

- Fix overlay crash on non-Steam app shutdown.
- Big Picture mode store can show Linux support icons.
- Fix Steam crash on systems with no USB support.
- Fix game shortcut names for games with non-ASCII letters in the name.

- Improve Steam client support for XFS and large drives.
- Fixed web browsing while in offline mode to load the proper offline mode page

Step 1: patch the broken physics of Sonic 4.

step 2: make the game sound better than your average atari 2600 game. i don't know why the sound team went all 'we're going retro! back to the original gameboy!' as opposed to making it sound like a freaking genesis game. my ears...

Phil Fhish did not give so much attention to the PC port. Every time I try to load a save the game crashes. I have tried verify the game chache and reinstalled it. Still no luck.
