Nice to see that it works to give away Steam gifts too.

For anyone wondering, you get a Steam gift link from gifting to your own mail.
You can only gift one copy of each game to your mail, so you might want to use a disposable temp mail service for multiple copies of one game.

I remember one of the steam sales the Half Life stuff went on sale for 90% off, but honestly the difference between 75% and 90% don't amount to much in this case. It happens though.

Officially speaking, it's no longer in beta, but practically speaking, since there's now a queue so Valve doesn't fall behind in server capacity, the game has essentially gone back a few steps to the early days of the beta, where you waited to be invited by Valve itself.

Ah, interesting. Although, I figured that by now everyone who wants to play it managed to get an invitation.

In completely unrelated news, I kinda regret adding Shadow Warrior Classic from that giveaway on facebook to my library, now that Redux is out :/

The only keys released for the game were the ones briefly available via the Facebook promotion he mentioned.

I was one of the lucky few who got them before the fb promotion got flooded and now it's linked to my account for ever!

Seriously though, I'm not sure if it's the same for everyone but my Shadow Warrior Classic (1997) entry stays even after I deinstall it.

It will also say who the recipient is in the description box for the gift in the inventory.

You can just copy/paste the https://store.steampowered.com/account/ackgift/RANDOMSTRINGHERE portion of the URL that's included in the e-mail. The copy of Gateways I gave away above is the second I've sent to my e-mail address (like the dumbarse I am, I redeemed the first one, minus the redeemer segment of the URL, and now I have a copy collecting dust in my inventory, haha).

It's possible for publishers to tie free content to your account (e.g. this RACE 07 DLC), however SWC 1997 isn't one such case: note how the DLC says "Install game" rather than "Play game".

In other words, if you have an unredeemed gift sent to dunderanonymous@warmletter.go , you will not be able to send a gift of the same game to that mail until it's redeemed.

Ah, haha. Incidentally, Devolver did kill the unused keys from the Facebook promo: a few GAFers tried to redeem their keys some hours later and found that they were invalid.

I'm hoping for some sort of "Where in the World is Sour Ice Ronan" minigame, using the cards to advance groups of players ahead on a map to the next destination, and bullshit hard trivia questions.
