Technically Durante had DSFix available before the official release date even hit. I remember sitting in the thread and watching the clock, right when I could launch the game, he made the fix available.
I doubt they will go the same route with this one. All the information coming out of From and Bandai right now is they are deeply sorry for the state of DS1 and PC gamers we will not be disappointed in the state of the sequel.
Dark Souls is my personal GOTG, I'll be picking up the sequel day one.
Not only that, Durante's fix was only possible because the game came out in the first place.
Just a question to everyone who's pre-ordering Dark Souls 2 : how do you justify it? I get that DS was fantastic, but after it got Durante'd. The port itself was really freaking bad. Everyone just hoping they learned their lesson and this time it's considerably better?
I don't pre-order games compulsively, I only pre-order games I really want to play the moment they come out. If I don't pre-order a game on Steam the moment it's up for pre-order, I'll buy it once it comes out, because I want to play that game... so it doesn't really matter. The fact that there's usually a discount on a pre-order makes that decision even easier.
Dark Souls 2 is a game I want to play the moment it comes out, so the moment it's up for sale, I'll buy it. Metal Gear Rising was a game I wanted to play the moment it came out on PC (and also tell Konami that we want games on the system), so I pre-ordered it. I didn't play it yet, but that's because I was finishing.... Dark Souls!
I understand this "don't buy pre-orders people!" movement, but I AM going to buy the game full price. It doesn't matter if I pre-order it 3 weeks earlier or 2 days after it comes out. When I look at games I'm interested in purchasing, I usually have a set price that I'm willing to pay for that game. Dark Souls 2 is a game I'm going to buy and play at any given price. Simcity was another one of those games - It's just that I got burned on that one. I could get burned on Dark Souls 2 as well, but I want to play it, I want to see it and I want to experience it. As soon as possible.
Not... really?
Unless you just want to be completionist and have the complete trilogy in your Steam library.
I don't really understand that. I think Max Payne 3 is a GREAT game. it depicts Max as a fucked up old dude that has problems with his life, but doesn't know ho to live it any other way.
And it's a great game to boot. It has a nice control and plays pretty well. I never understood the Max Payne 3 hate. I bought it "full price" (it was like 40% cheaper in Brazil at release) and enjoyed every moment of it.
