Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

My God, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is even more boring than I remember it being. I wish there was a way to skip the first 3 chapters.

You can hold forward while you shoot to negate most of the recoil, or shoot from a rope. The recoil also adds one tile to your jump height if you jump + shoot simultaneously.

I TRUST NO ONE

but thanks! I'll make sure to try it as soon as XCOM stops its mindgrappling on me

Holy crap, I bought this limited edition Tomb Raider Controller for $37 today. They are usually $64 here.

The only problem it had was that the box was kinda broken on one side (which made me want to protect it) but the controller was brand new.

For anyone that has 100%'d Batman AC, do any achievements or side quests become unavailable after finishing the main story line? I have a tendency to do as much side content as possible when playing a game anyway, but I want to make sure I don't miss anything that will require me to start over.

That looks like my current 360 pad. I could have saved you $37.

Does it have the transforming dpad? Because if not, it's crap.

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe

Can't wait for the purchase button!

WIll buy if it has trading cards and is
0,99€
because this is the modern Bad Rats folks!

But this is the port of the really good arcade shooter game!

I wonder what "light gun" controller works in modern PCs.

I beat Oniken and really enjoyed it, but man that extra stage is making me angry.

After playing nothing but Spelunky and Oniken the past few days I really need to chill out with something more relaxing

I played an hour and a half of Enslaved yesterday and it's weird as shit playing a big-budget "cinematic" game again. It's impossible to miss a jump, important items are highlighted, you can't die in the first chapter, the entire game's an escort mission... bleh, lol. Will stick it out but I don't miss this stuff. Also, wish I knew it actually doesn't have much of anything to do with Journey to the West.

yeah gunslinger is as good as everyone says it is but the micro stuttering sucks, and no fix in sight (did the repeated keystrokes thing, still)

also call me crazy but I dont really dig the art style. too oversaturated, and the black outline is obtrusive

gameplay's great, tho, sure. feels like a lightgun game with proper movement

Goals to work towards. Some people like to act all high and mighty over them, and their inclusion in modern games, but you could just as easily ask why old-school arcade games had High Score tables with player initials.

(that's not to say there aren't some stupid achievements out there, but in general, I appreciate their inclusion)

I think the biggest problem I have with Achievements and the like is that people have been conditioned to accept them in lieu of the neat stuff you used to be able to unlock in games. Where it used to be, "Survive five rounds without taking a hit to unlock this cool alternate costume!", nowadays it's more like, "Survive five rounds without taking a hit to receive this Achievement saying you did it! Oh, and buy our Alternate Costume DLC for only $0.99!"

I'll go out of my way to complete challenges in games when it means earning stuff I want. Doing that gives me a sense of satisfaction. I blame the rise of Achievements for killing a lot of that, and taking out a source of enjoyment for me in the process. :s

Good luck, Gaffers!

Thanks for 1953 - I'll duck and cover while playing it.
Impressive giveaway.

Oops: product code not valid. easy come, easy go.
OopsOops: Oh I see it's for Desura. But it says that it's actually for
the game The Body Changers, and that it's already been activated by you.

[FIXED!]

Remember when Bethesda fucked up and gave everybody access to Skyrim's Dawnguard DLC for a couple of hours, and then removed it from everybody's subscription, but whoever was online at the time and had a fast enough connection managed to grab the files needed for the mod and Steam never deleted/can't delete those files?

I wonder if we would get into trouble if we played the mod. Given I recently played The Elder Scrolls Online, I'm thinking of going back to Skyrim, but I never touched the installation folder since that happened, and I still have the DLC in there.... hrmmmm....

I'd like to encourage people to vote for Leviathan: The Last Day of the Decade on Greenlight again. I made a thread with pretty pictures a while back and I think it's time to talk about this game again. Apparently, the developers are facing some financial trouble with completing the last episode and their leader is putting his own money into the project. They are talking about an indiegogo campaign soon, but they also said that they are at 87% in terms of getting the game greenlit. I have no real idea what that actually means, but I imagine they are pretty close. I've been really impressed with chubigan's story from earlier and I think it would be wonderful if something similar happened here. So do check out the greenlight page, my thread, or both and vote up if you like it enough.

For those who just want get a quick impression of what the game is like, it's basically a hybrid VN/adventure game made in Russia, with a fairly unique setting and an interesting artstyle. It's not without its issues, but I thoroughly enjoyed the first two episodes (didn't play the next two yet lol, as I initially decided to wait until the firth one would be released) and it's definitely a good game, not exactly common, either. The first episode is available for free and you can currently buy the season pass just for $9.57 (20% off) directly from the developer. If you play the first episode now, note that the second one is significantly longer.

I'd also like to bump the thread if that's okay.

So I'm going to be three weeks in Australia starting next week and I have no idea how I'll buy games from there with their shitty prices and censored games :(

No need to use a VPN. Just change the store region extension to your country and that's it. In fact that's what steam support tells you to do.

For example, I'm on a 3 week vacation through southeast Asia and was able to buy a game using this method.

I'm using this to change the region
http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=ar

Still have a week before going back to work and the old routine. :(

Hope steamGAF is doing well. I've been away for 2 weeks and there is a new 200+ threadalready. Guess I missed quite a bit. See you all in a a few days.
