revelations dlc worth it? guess i could sell a few cards ...

Most of it, not really unless you really want the STARS Handgun or something. The only DLC maybe worth it if you're interested in the Raid Mode two character DLC, which is Ooze Rachel and Lady HUNK. I like Ooze Rachel personally, who I use, she's mainly a melee fighter and has her own unique animations and voice lines that are fun to do to random people ("Whhheeeeereee aarree yoooouuu...? PAIN!!")

How is RE Revelations compared to RE 4?

Not as good, but it's not a bad game. Many say that if you liked RE4 and didn't like RE5 or RE6 you may very well like Revelations. My take on it is that Revelations is quite different, it has some things in place from RE4 and RE5, but it's also a very different game. But I think you might enjoy it if you liked the sort of monsters/atmosphere element of it. And PC port wise, Revelations is in a very good place.

I also think I just found the mod for Revelations that interests me. A mod to texture enemies to make them look creepier.

More enemies modded, but decided to not include images of them, as they're later-game enemies, but a shame as I think the later game enemies are more interesting...

Can download here, but a few of the enemy names are very minor spoilers for a few of the enemies in the game, though the enemies modded so far are only enemies seen in the first third of the game: http://www.mediafire.com/folder/5fqdv5au11uly/Enemy_Retex_by_Cerberus

that crazy happy post is interesting. tbh I can relate on some parts, I'm just not that optimistic about it. but I have somewhat low expectations from life so eh

Yeah I think the confusion is that you expect to use your account to add the games to the list of games the child account can play, but what you actually do is use a separate mode on the child's account to manage the list of games the child account can play. The parent account is never used for anything, you use parent mode on the child account. And you add like you'd add games to a category, and then you switch back to child mode on the child account.

This was very helpful to me too! Thank you!

There's now an increase in Steam wallet card costs at EB Games in Canada due to the USD/CAD difference. That's kind of not cool. $50 is now $55, $20 now $22.

I unplugged my 360 pad to play One Finger Death Punch with my mouse, but now that I've plugged the pad back in Windows 7 doesn't recognize it anymore. Rebooting did nothing. Anyone have experience with this?

Botox Jill was a bit freaky at first but the better half of the time you're looking at her arse anyway. Revelations was a good mix of original style Resi and newer action style. Shame that it was developed as a hand held game first and foremost and not tightened up for the console/PC release as the enemies are piss easy to hit and kill. But the added challenge and replayability of Raid Mode makes up for that in spades.

Well the first time I put it on I played and died a few times before switching it of. When I went to look at my playtime it was already at 6 hours for what felt like 30mins at best. For me it feels like one of those rare games that death spurs you on. Plus unlike Spelunky you do gain progression after each death. Tiny acorns and all that but progression nonetheless.

Indeed; dat ass. She's completely not my type being female but even I enjoyed the view in the game :p.

Sounds like RL will be right up my street then if FTL and XCOM are anything to go by :).

How is RE Revelations compared to RE 4?

No comparison. RE4 is an all time classic. Revelaitons is not. However, if we were to disregard any game that fell short of RE4 we would have very few games to play. There is a lot of fun to be had with Revelaitons so it would be a shame to discount it for not being RE4. However, as has already been said more than once, it carves out quite its own little niche in the RE series. Frankly I think Raid mode is worth the price of admission on its own but then I said that after paying full price for it on release for the 3DS. Given how cheap it is now on Steam I would say it's a no brainer if it sounds like fun to you.

So they finally did it eh? I bought a $50 one last month as I knew this would happen. Was hopping to pick up another one but had not gotten around to it.

RE:R at -75% is tempting, but honestly I know it will not hold up against Dark Souls
nothing will
so I'd rather just play that again.

I'm no expect, but check your device manager to see if there is an unrecognized device and maybe to can re-specify the controller driver.

It wasn't a perma-ban. He surfaced a few months later in the Anime thread.
I know man, in fact the post that Stump linked is recent. I'm just saying that he enjoys ranting against some game devs and insulting them, so he wouldn't be suitable for his perfect, happy paradise.

I might buy Advent Rising from GOG since it never goes on sale on Steam.

It's always only GOG or Steam for me. Fuck everything else.

Btw, what happens if I create a new Steam account, uses Russian VPN, buys games and gifts them to my main account? Will both accounts be banned?

Likewise so it can sit happily next to my PS3 PtDE SteelBook.

Though I'm guessing that the PC version will be G1 in size so might have to grab a PS3 copy eventually to have them the same size (ie G2) but lets be honest you can never have enough Dark Souls tat (meaningful at least).

That PS3 steelbook!

Beautiful. Might buy the expensive shitty statue version just for this and the artbook if they don't make Black Armor edition available.

The collector's edition shows that it does come with the Black Armor Steel case on both Gamestop and Namco, so that is always an option.

I am both happy yet sad I haven't played the Dark Souls extended series yet, but I already have my floor plan laid out.

First I want to play the games that inspired the series but were made years earlier, the Shadow Tower series. Two games, they're very different but made by the same developers and in a lot of ways its systems and the like were the inspiration for the series.

I need to secure a copy of Demon Souls and play that then.

Then Dark Souls, which I already have on Steam.

And then get Dark Souls 2 in the near future.

Just need to find the right time to do this with everything else.

Hahaha well there's always Qwazy Quint Cetcham!

It's quite different from FTL, XCOM and Spelunky but still carries the same hook. It features platforming and pathfinding elements of gameplay as well as progression through skill trees and unlocks as well as awesome boss battles. I'm not one who likes to pigeonhole games but it is like a cross between Metroid, IGA Castlevania, Cave Story and Spelunky but is still different to all of these. And the soundtrack is great to boot.

I'd probably recommend working the King's Field games into this somewhere too, but if you do that on top of everything else, you may never get around to actually playing DS 1 and 2. ^^;

I'm interested in RE in general, and I want to try Revelaitons, but having played like, the first chapter of RE5 and absolutely fucking hating it, I'm not going to pay this much for it, Capcpom, sorry.

I'm kind of feeling a competitive itch with titanfall around the corner. I refuse to play that game for ethical reasons however, and so I'm thinking of trying a couple f2p games. Which is worth my time:

1) Loadout
2) Hawken

I'll probably just scrub it up on a fighting game.

Seeing we're in a Dark Souls mood in here and I don't want to enter into the OT for fear of spoilers and such I'll ask here. Are the prologue videos that FROM released safe to watch or do they give anything away?

Man, it still annoys me that I didn't pick up PTD PC physical edition due to the lack of confirmation that it activated on Steam until after release.

So I just looked at my Steam Library fully intending to start a completely new, unplayed game and was hit with the painful thought of having to 'learn' a new game :/. Then I noticed One Finger Death Punch sitting there and decided to fire that up since it's got to be a really simple control scheme, right?

Wow! It is so much better than I expected it to be from looking at videos previously. I thought it might be all a bit too frenetic for my old man brain but although I was playing at the noob level I was pleasantly surprised at how not utterly rubbish I was at it. I just unlocked a bunch of achievements and got to the end of the penultimate noob level before dying and had a blast while doing so.

I've only played it for a few minutes but am favourably impressed by how easy it is to get into and understand what the game expects of the player. I particularly love the knowingly almost racist voice over :D. I like a game that doesn't take itself too seriously :).

Right, that's a hit and will be played in shortish burst for awhile I think. Let's see what else can tempt me! :)

Have you considered playing Dark Souls now, since you already have it there, before going back to the previous games? It might make you appreciate the earlier games more and also make any technical issues easier to bear?

Although I have SS2, Bio, Bio 2 and Bio Inf in my library and intend to play them chronologically so feel free to ignore my suggestion :).

Amazon.co.uk still have them new for £17 and a UK supermarket by me has a couple for around £8. Postage would probably be a killer though and to be fair the recently released and translated Design Works has all the art work at way better quality and the dev comments translated (although ENB did a great job on those.)
