gave away the keys to the kingdom.
I'd just like to say that JaseC is MY number 1

Sersh is my #1 so I'm afraid you'll have to settle for second best. :p

I meant of course the indie spring sale. :)

Ah. ;)

WTH I never grabbed it since for some reason it wasn't on sale during the holidays.

Cart Life was pulled because the dev made the game, and its source code, available for free on his site. You can try asking him for a Steam key.

I have to agree that Jasec is the best steam support one can imagine.
Never change, Jasec, or Valve will be in trouble! (><)

It will be interesting to see what games get taken down soon due to GFWL.

Watch Capcom keep all of their games up till GFWL goes down and not even patch them.

You and me both man :/

You know, this is why I tell my wife I should be purchasing games I want rather quickly in case they disappear. Like when she goes shopping and regrets picking up a shirt she wanted and going back a week later and it's gone. Of course she doesn't see it my way...

Wish there was some sort of rule that games being pulled would have to be told to consumers so many days before. Much like how when a games online is being shut down.

I see. Too bad I can't get to that link afghanistan says it's a web proxy.......I can't even get to destructoid without it saying it's pornography. Still amazed GAF works.

Tested seems more like technology site and thus their impression isn't worth much. /s

yeah, they unlike the other sites they got some good info, like the triggers being analog, their wireless stuff being in-house, or Portal 2 having native implementation. Other sites were like "well we still think what we thought at CES, but it's sorta better now or not? whatever"

Valve should hire me as an external support staff member. It would feel weird no longer having to buy Steam games (save for retail-exclusive titles), though. :p

Ah. I had to link you to the page via Archive.org as the site is currently down. He's set up the contact page as a collection of images, presumably so bots can't crawl the site and add his address to a spam list. I can write it down and PM it to you if you like.

They've already said they would, haven't they? Capcom is usually excellent with supporting steamworks, so I can believe they'd try and fix their games anyhow.

They said couple of months ago that they didn't have any plans so far on fixing them.

a lot of people haven't checked out the thread, so posting it here too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fei1Fh4owDA

Really like seeing stuff on this. Thanks for posting.

My favorite is how many people keep commenting that the controller is "weird". I'm not sure a comment could be less helpful than that.

I totally agree, the video had good information and the guy asked interesting questions, most of the other sites reporting the SC are missing the opportunity.

MUnited83

For you.
Haha, it'll certainly be very interesting when Valve opens those floodgates.

Psh, nice try, Valve. :p
Personally, I'm hoping someone manages to put a Eroge game on steam for a couple hours so I can stock up on copies to sell for outrageously high prices after. Thing would be a better investment than bitcoins.

Paradox just removed the gifting/trading restriction from the Warlock 2 subs. I'd be quick about buying the game through a trader, though, since it was Paradox who added it (i.e. there may be a change of heart later).

Really? Dang. I hope the plan to convert AE2012 is still in place.

Why would they bother with that? Not converting it would force people to buy Ultra when it releases.

But your number won't go up!

There's also an article saying they planned on fixing them, they just didn't have a time table. So unless they changed their plans (completely possible) there's still some hope.

Whelp, from the discussion in this topic a few days ago, I've been working more to try and make a quality RPG Maker Horror game to beat compete with all of those other RPG Maker games currently on Steam. First things first, I've agreed not to use any default RPG Maker stuff. Been composing music the last few days and spriting, and licensed a 2D lighting engine.

However, I am concerned and hoping my music is good enough. I haven't composed in years, and I don't think I'm the best judge of my quick work. These were a few things I whipped up in the last few hours. Be straight with me, SteamGAF, is the music serviceable, or should I concern myself to get a real musician by saving up the moolah?

https://soundcloud.com/ryan-stanford-3/i-havent-composed-in-ages-is

They are short, and all loop, as being worked with the RPG Maker engine, And most are pretty simple, more concerned with atmosphere. Just be honest, I could practice and get better, but I need to hear the frankness for a better end-game.

What you've got now is very atmospheric and all around pretty decent. I would wait until you're finished with the game itself before contacting a composer to add more to the soundtrack.

Wait, does each one of the versions add a +1 to your game count?(as they have different subs)

Sounds right for you :p

Concept seems interesting, I will probably grab the Mandarin version at least when it goes on sale.

Sadly the different versions are handled via DLC rather than different base apps. :(

Ah, dammit :p

Talking about restrictions, it seems Wasteland 2 got a new sub which has the gifting and trading restriction. It's a new Sub so I doesn't affect copies sold before, so If anyone is on the edge on buying it, I would recommend getting it now from a trader who still has the cheap-ish copies on stock.

I assumed it would be a DLC upgrade seeing that is the case for the console versions.

USF4 is confirmed to be a Steamworks title so I assume Capcom will release the game as its own app and offer existing owners of Street Fighter IV/Super Street Fighter IV a generous discount. Think the Capcom equivalent of the DE:HR Director's Cut loyalty discount.

Capcpom? Generous discounts? On new things?
I need to see this first =p

Also, come on Free2Play, unlock that last achievement.

Looks like I'm gonna have to wait on getting Cloudbuilt - it's got to patch in controller support, although I could probably whip up a quick and dirty Pinnacle profile.

Any interesting deals on GMG today?

Err so how much of an 'educational' software is this? Cuz I got Squirt's Adventure and my little niece liked it, so I'll family share with my older brother so their kids can play it.
Wouldn't mind getting this too >_>;

Started an OT yesterday :)
Cloudbuilt | Cyborg Sonic with a rocket pack

There are some issues like lack of video options (currently being worked on) and crashing (also being fixed at the moment), but so far the art style is freaking gorgeous and the controls are super smooth.

If you could ask a mod to edit the thread title, maybe alter the OT subtitle to mention Mirror's Edge? Of course this is AFTER you've tried the game, if you feel like it mirrors Mirror's Edge, then that can be a strong selling point for some GAFfers.

Actually a serious question:

With the alluded success of PSN+, what do you think are the chances of Valve pulling a similar thing, and requiring all current users to pay a monthly fee for access to their current library?

I'm not talking about a monthly payment to access the everything-goes sub, just stuff you have bought previously.

Simple change in the SSA would force us to either comply (and pay up) or lose access to our libraries - exactly as was the case with that 'waiving the rights for class action lawsuit' SSA kerfluffle two years ago.

What do you think? If not now, maybe in a few years (or, more realistically, after Gaben is no more the head of company). With all the self-publishing push (and implied loss of actual store sales since the devs can generate an infinite amount of keys with no Valve cut), Valve might need this to recouple hosting/server costs.
If they do this, if they remove access to the games I've bought unless I pay them a monthly fee, they are probably getting a lawsuit and I'm definitely going to download a crack for each and every one of my games. Then I'll uninstall the client and never come back.

I'm sure I won't be the only one. And I'm also sure they won't be stupid enough to do this.

Well, I hope we see a nice discount.

You're probably right, though. I wouldn't be surprised to see $40 for USF4. +1 game count, at least!

You say that like I'm far behind. :p textonly > Xelios > Valis > Me.

Edit: To explain, I think I've missed the boat on too much stuff to catch up to text, and me being late to the collecting game is why I'm not overly fussed about where I sit in ranks, but I think I'll edge ahead of Valis within the next couple of months and maybe at least catch up to Xel during the Summer Sale (assuming I have as much to spend as I'm expecting).
Does Xel still count as part of SteamGAF, though? I miss him and his reviews :(

EDIT: almost triple post. Guess I should stop posting and go back to work

A Heroine must stand against the forces of frost and put an end to the lasting winter. Her might, sorcery, and cunning may be humanity’s last resort. Heroine's Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok is a retro styled adventure/RPG hybrid with atmosphere and spirit reminiscent of the classics. Are you up to the task, or will you die trying?

Free. Both the "Play" and "Install" buttons are present on the store page but the latter, which adds to your game count, may be a mistake so I'd act fast. Edit: "Install" is gone.

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Just finished watching Free to Play. I thought it was a pretty decent feature, giving a bit of a glimpse into the lives of the competitors and the tournament itself without overstaying its welcome. I've never played Dota and I don't watch competitive gaming, but as even as a regular gamer (who has played online games) it was easy to identify in a small way with the mentality with which these guys approach gaming in general.

I'll definitely go forward and watch the bonus features as well.

Eh, I felt it was a retread of that MTV "True Life: I am a Pro Gamer" or whatever the title was back during Halo 2's day. Just without the blantant "I AM A HIGH-SCHOOL DROPOUT" that T-square advertised.

At least it has achievements? Yay?

Also Valve's video player has no exit unless you enter window mode, move the window around a bit to get windows "app close" button to show up. WTF Valve?
