STEAM Announcements & Updates 2014 III - Don't Believe The Tags

I wasn't feeling the combat until I started using the mod about 6 or so hours into the game. I would say to use it, for sure. Without it I almost gave up on the game, actually.

Does the mod do a good job letting you know how it works in game or do you need to know how it affects the game before using it? I want to use it with the witcher 2 myself but i wonder if i install the mod will it inform me while im playing as to how it changes the game, if the ingame prompts from the original battle system are still there which would make things confusing, and if the combat is really that bad that a mod is needed.

Already? Game's been out since 2011 (2012 on PC). The sequel was announced like over a year ago. Been a long wait, man.

Yep, it's natural for me since I got disconnected from Steam for many years. I was one of the very first Audiosurfers back then; got lots of catching up to do.

your patience is way greater than mine! Well, that's a lie, I did finish couple of games I didn't enjoy, and I've spent much more time in them than that.
isn't AssCreed 2 considered the best of them Asses?
I think it is, which is why I'd rather commit sudoku before I play another one.

I was about to buy Spore (the weeklong deal) on Steam. But then I got reminded how fucking boring the game was. Own it on Origin. As soon as the organism came out from the water the game got boring insanely fast.

First two threads I jump into have people believing a Kickstarter project will cost $100 million, and the Steam controller is, 'stupid,' due to the lack of analog sticks.

I have the personal belief that there should be at least two standard steam controllers - options to maintain backwards compatibility with the 360 controller if nothing else.

I've responded to Ubi's offering of a Settlers 7 DLC Uplay key with a long-winded yet polite explanation of what my problem is and what needs to be done. Some might say that I'm pissing into the wind but I'll keep fighting for a Steam key for Paths to a Kingdom vanilla until I'm told to fuck off. As of tomorrow my ticket will be a month old.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
New feature coming soon to the Enhanced Steam web "Library" tab.

The second option is pointless. If you want a 360-like controller theres a pretty good one currently available and it's the 360 controller. The point of the steam controller is to make normally non-controller games function on a controller, like Civ 5 or Papers Please.

MS will eventually stop making them, and if nobody else officially supports them, then they'll disappear. That's the point.

If Steam makes one (or one with a couple of extra buttons or something) an official controller, companies like Hori, Madcatz, and Logitech will continue making them.

That's for Corporate Lifestyle Simulator, BernardoOne -- now I can simulate my every day life when I'm playing something on Steam. :D

Nice. Is that in 6.0? Cause that'll make it worth the wait. :p

when/if I start dating again it's going to be a thing that she will either embrace gaming as my hobby or get lost.

glad you have one that supports your interests.

I found myself in that situation almost 2 years ago when, after like 2 months (and 2 dates, since she was living in London at the time) since we first met, we decided to go live together.
After the natural some months of whatever, routine kicked in and I fully jumped back on massive playing hours.

I solved every possible issues with:
Papers, Please first
Cook, Serve, Delicious then
and Civ IV last.

At the moment she has something around 300 hours of cumulative play time (that's like, way more than me in the same time span, since she doesn't have GAF) and I'm a happy man! :D

Devs certainly did not widely support DX10 (which was Vista only, I remind you). Even Halo 2, which was published by MS, used DX9. Things changed around only after Win7 started being adapted.
Same deal with Win8/8.1 exclusive DX11.1 and DX11.2 - 11.1 is (according to Wikipedia) supported (mind you, optionally) by two games (Battlefield 4 and Star Trek Online), can't seem to find any data on DX11.2 usage.

Can't really say it's gaining 0.01% of the market share in three months time is something to be proud of (especially if the whole Windows family looses 0.5% compared to OSX in the same time).
Even if MS was being silly and thought that locking DX10 to Vista would accelerate adoption from gamers, the main problem was that DX10 needed new cards to run the code (which didn't happen before IIRC), so the problem wasn't excluding XP but the millions who had DX9-only hardware. There were some oddities though, I remember Halo 2 requiring DX10, but not DX10-capable cards.
DX11.X isn't W8 exclusive though, even if some features are unavailable in W7.
And yeah, nothing to be proud of, but I wouldn't consider it losing *yet*

If you don't buy RE4 Steam edition Capcom will decide that we failed the RE5 Steamworks patch test. I wish I was joking.
Yeah, especially since it seems like the LP3 test failed.

Actually I did not know about Vista backport, you're right, sorry.
Wish MS would support W7, I've switched from XP less than two years ago and I'm not planning on changing from it at least until 2020 (if possible).
Upgrade from 7 to 8.1 is painless (just a bit lengthy). Embrace the future.

This is handball, played by every kid in Australia at some stage:

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8RkmB8WHljI

Must be a thing in other countries, right?
I played that as a kid, it was called "Manogol" (Handgoal... yeah) here

Really? Hope se see they Android update soon.
Soon obviously means Valve Time

Man, the handball rabbit hole goes deep. I'm Canadian.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_handball <-- This is what we call handball. You use your hand to hit a hard ball against a wall, sort of like squash or half a tennis court or whatever.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handball_(school) <-- This is toddhunter's bonkers school game called handball

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handball_(children's_game) <-- Wikipedia says this is ALSO handball, except everywhere I've ever played it calls it four-square or square ball.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Team_Handball <-- This appears to be what the Steam handball game is, sort of more similar to lacrosse, basketball, polo, or football.

You're telling me there are at least four separate games called Handball?

How is RE4 (Steam)? Thinking about buying it for 15$ on GMG.

It's a good port of RE4 HD with kb&m support. Some may argue that using the mouse makes the game too easy and thus is ruinous, but fortunately there's controller support, too.

I blame the English language.

Uruguayan, Spanish-speaking.

"Frontón", if using a paddle it's called "Paddle" (really), or if using something else "Pelota Vasca" (Basque pelota)

"Manogol" as said in my previous post. Makes sense that we actually play this, due to the amount of Uruguayan emigration to Australia in the 70s.

This I have never seen.

"Handball", because it's like "Football" but you use your hands.

Yes, this will be in 6.0.

Sorry this particular update is taking so long - I believe it's the longest I've gone without updating the Chrome plugin since it's inception. We're changing a lot of the stuff "behind the scenes", and I've also been quite busy lately with shitty stuff going on in my life and my "real" job.

It's coming soon though!

Just remember, if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball.

Also, no worries, I'm sure it will be worth the wait, good ser. Your endeavors always are. :D

Odd, I figured everybody knew what Handball is - you know, the one they actually play at the Olympics.

This is the one we played at school. I always hated it, because it mixes the worst things of basketball (difficulty of moving due to having to dribble) and football/soccer (everything).

You know, I think the partial reason that Bonetown was Greenlit was because of Totalbiscuit. I remember it being brought up by Totalbiscuit during one of his podcasts. He mentioned that it would be funny if they exploited the Greenlight system to bring Bonetown to Steam.

It's called "Mature Edition".
Doesn't the mean it's NOT censored? That was the impression I got.

I think they recognized the fact that their game is rather immature and took out the sex and nudity so that the game would be more mature... which is silly seeing as how nobody would purchase the game without the sex or nudity.

Dammit, Steam, allow AO games, please...

I originally thought that "Mature" meant "uncensored" as well, but in the description:
Play BoneTown, the sexiest action adventure game ever made, now with its clothes on in a non-adult edition!
You may have heard of BoneTown as an adult title, but in an attempt to bring the game to a wider audience, we are creating an M-Rated, clothes-on, non-adult version to release on Steam. The game will retain all of its hilarious and outrageous content, but this time, to keep everything M-Rated, and not break Steam’s content restrictions, the clothes will stay on and other minor changes will be made.

EDIT: And I'm an idiot. Mature Edition = M-rating (Mature Rating)

Can't believe I didn't... jeeze.
