Only thing that held me back was the monthly fee, I much prefer being able to quit to pay attention to other things without feeling like I have a waste of a fee incoming, need to cancel sub if I plan on taking an extended break, resubbing when I come back, etc.

Sadly I don't think they'll drop it. Their game is actually maintaining a userbase unlike TSW which failed to keep interest with the monthly fee.

I agree entirely, monthly fees are bad for the consumer for that reason.

Personally, I would have just used the free month and dropped it.

No, I deleted the client cuz I thought the beta was over!!!!

I've watched some of the gameplay vids and I still want to try it. I'd like the imperial edition for everything except the molag bal statue. That thing is hideous.

Yeah, it will be -- I hadn't played it since I owned it for the Gamecube... probably back somewhere in the 2005 timeframe... until I bought the PS3 HD version when it released and immediately dove in. It was a great time. It's probably on the short list for yet ANOTHER play with the Steam release here shortly.

Speaking of Dark Souls II, I really hope Namco removes GFWL for Dark Souls. I'd like to play it again, but in it's current state with GFWL not allowing me to sign in while playing it, I've given up the idea for now.

I dislike Chrome, so I would be sad to see ES cease development on Firefox.



I'm curious though, how much of ES could be done as a Greasemonkey script? Functionally it seems similar to a lot of other GM scripts I use, but I don't know enough about GM or javascript to actually be sure.

Understandable given the circumstances, yet I hope you reconsider and FF stops getting in the way of your excellent work with Enhanced Steam. I used Chrome for years until they started with the changes to the layout and menus, unifying it to match across tablets, mobile and PC. Turning my 15" monitor into half a screen of white space because of some fat fingered mobile user, with all Chromium versions I tried following on the update.

Valve really needs to hire you now :p

I took a break from XCOM to show you how young master William is helping :).

The eagle eyed amongst you will see my list of
Psi
enabled boys and girls that I am slowly ranking up. I actually could have finished the game hours upon hours ago but have been messing around in the end game doing this for the lulz. Besides, after every single decision being fraught with trepidation in the early and mid game with just one mistake meaning the whole playthrough of hours upon hours of investment rapidly getting fubar all to easily, it is really fun to de-stress a little in the end game when one should be fine unless one makes several really stupid mistakes. Once they're all ranked to the max I shall tackle the final mission [which is actually a bit of a doddle, relatively speaking] and Classic Ironman will finally be beatinated :D. Then I might actually play a game that isn't XCOM! :eek:

There are a few functions that could easily be accomplished with Greasemonkey, in fact Enhanced Steam started as a Greasemonkey script.

However, Enhanced Steam (for Chrome) has about 235 options at present, and the Firefox version has 10-15 (another huge limitation with Firefox is it's extension preferences).

With Greasemonkey, a user would have to edit the script itself to set their options, and most prefer to simply check or uncheck a box in the familiar extensions tab.

There are also a lot of things Enhanced Steam simply wouldn't be able to do as a Greasemonkey script.

With Bandai cleaning out GFWL from Ace Combat, that shows they are committed to cleaning up their library.

I have a feeling that after From has shipped the PC version of Dark Souls II, they will put a small team on ridding the prequel of GFWL.

Does Ace Combat have any sort of multiplayer? I'm worried about Dark Souls because it seems like they just straight ported the 360's network options to PC.

I jumped on and it's a great game, but you're right. I shouldn't have bought it way too many games to play now and that are coming out. Probably won't go past the 30 free days.

Hey, you should try this game called "Marvel Heroes" not sure if you ever heard of it before... :p

Also, you can't tell woo to stop. It does not work that way, he must find his own way, perhaps when he beats the game on the harder difficulty. ;)
