Has anyone played The Swapper?

In games I like, I try to be a completionist. Looking through the map of the ship, there were a few things I missed. Can you go back and get them or if you advance to far in the story, are you screwed?

I noticed a week ago I had a dozen games saying 'update required' but they did not update like they usually do automatically. So I decided to manually update one, and it is downloading the whole game. I checked the folders for the other games and they had been deleted as well, all that remains is an empty folder with the games name.

Does anyone know why steam deleted some of my installed games and now wants me to 'update' them?

You can get screwed if you complete the game. Although it's nothing that quick editing of .ini files wouldn't fix! Quick Google session should fill you in. If you want to be sure just get all the achievements before finishing the game. IIRC you should have a pretty good feeling regarding going beyond what point is going to finish the game.

Yeah that might have happened with a recent steam update, happened to a bunch of us.

No idea, but yesterday Steam decided to download some games again, including Max Payne 3 in its whole 29 GB. It was just after the update, but I don't know if it's to blame.

Go to Control Panel, then Power Options and check to see if you have Sleep status on...

Turn Hibernation in the Windows Power Options off.

I probably had like 15-20fps lol. Which is surprising. Very well optimized. If I could have lowered the resolution, it would have been fully playable.

Also, I got some friend invites. Who are Makeshift Chef, AbundantChoice and efficaxor?

Go to Control Panel, then Power Options and check to see if you have Sleep status on...

yea I have Sleep on but is there a way to make it sleep only if there's no active downloads/etc

it's amazing how something as simple as putting a game on steam can boost your sales.

I think the shocking part was how well it did at it's normal (raised) price when it first launched on Steam.

I think any game with a 75% discount gets purchased on a steam sale even if you have no intention of playing it, it's usually too good of a deal to pass up on and hey, maybe one day you might get to urge to make virtual pizza.

Yeah. I'm no Jase, but I have enough games where I could probably spend forever just getting cards. Too bad that it only works for games with achievements though.

Kind of a late response since I was playing MGR, but... It definitely works for games without achievements. I use it all the time.

What is a "Steam Toilet Account"?

It's a separate account you've made for the express purpose of dumping your unwanted inventory items into.

The name was never meant to be clever, just accurate.

The latter presumably being reserved for members who enjoy a little too much Yerba mate?

Yerba mate time is another of my favorites. It's shorthand for a massive thread derail.

Ok thanks, I will assume it is some sort of glitch with steam and try and restore the games from back-up. Don't really want to download gigs of data on my slow net.

Oh I've been having problems all day after one of my hard drives died. Begrudgingly doing a reinstall now so that better fix the problem.

Quote myself to try and at least not make me feel so grumpy.

After two clean reinstalls still getting crashes left right and centre. Either Rising has a few under the hood issues or my memory is on it's way out. Judging by the stack backtraces it's 6 of one half a dozen of the other.

Either way that's me done for the night. Fingers crossed 10 passes of memtest will be done by the morning.
