If I used Paypal, should I be worried about being overbilled by steam or not at all?

shouldn't be since whenever you pay with paypal the money is taken right away

edit: and I so called that this would happen to someone

The game content that comes deluxe edition sounds really sweet. I would like the soundtrack as well if it is anything like the first game's.

As another poster stated I regret playing through this game on the Xbox360 after playing the superior PC version. I am going to have to try and blaze through the original on PC so I can reuse my character.
I recommend using the superarmor and supergun cheats. Makes the weakest part of the game (combat) go by extremely fast. I also uses the givexp and achievements cheats on the game+ to get to 60 (I did it on 360 clean and the last few levels are horrible)

Kind of wish I had a complete PC ME save. Oh well, game was dope on 360 and I'll get it super cheap on PC eventually!

outta curiosity how do these cheats work? I've don't cheat much in games and the few times I have it involved console commands (and only in single player games)

some of the Jedi Outcast cheats were pretty awesome :D

You can follow this guide:
http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/PC_Cheats

I've also originally beat ME on the 360 but have ME2 ordered on PC. The cheats are a nice way to blaze through stuff before the sequel comes out so your save can be ready.

Wow I never knew about the cheats.

Now I'm spared of grinding the final eight levels of my Lvl. 52 Engineer.

Thank the Maker.

I will be buying my notebook a quad-core, just for this.

shoot once I get my financial aid refund I think I'll have to finally upgrade my laptop to a quad-core

now how the heck do you install a new processor in a laptop? :-/

Sup Com 2 sounds pretty cool, but why March again? :x Don't all these companies know DoW2 Chaos Rising is the RTS to reign supreme that month!

Couldn't you just download one?

I haven't checked gamefaqs yet.

It was $5 a week ago.

I'm not helping, huh?
I already have ME on the PC. I meant I'll get ME 2 cheap down the road.

I guess I could download a save, but if I do that how is it any different than starting a vanilla character in ME2, since I won't have made any of the decisions.

Generally you don't.

thankfully with Gateway you can pretty much upgrade everything in this laptop :D

edit: except the graphics card which is soldered to the motherboard

though I'm reading on some forums that it's not compatible with a quad-core after all

seems that if I can find it the P9700 is the best since it's 25W just like my current one but 2.8gHz and double the L2 cache :D

Huge news about Supreme Commander 2:
Never thought I'd see the day, but I guess Demigod's performance made them think twice about their distribution choices.

So I have the Witcher installed and up to date, but last night it suddenly downloaded what appeared to be a huge update (I didn't watch the entire update, but it was in the low percentages, downloading fast, and not increasing the % that quickly). Did this happen with anyone else? Was there an update that I missed?

Edit: Nevermind, saw the on steam forums that 3 new adventures were released.

How often are games removed from Steam?

It seems like they removed Outrun after the sale.

Not too often. I think there's only like 2-3 games that have been removed from Steam.

Codename Gordon was removed from the store, but everyone can still download it with a special link that launches the Steam application. The reason why it was removed was because the company went out of business and the website that the game pointed to was taken over by a porn site.

The Movies was removed. Most likely due to Lionhead being bought out by Microsoft.

Stalin vs the Martians was pulled by the developer because they are going to do a re-release of the game sometime soon.

Those individuals who had purchases the last two games are still able to download them, but no one is able to buy.

Outrun might not be one of these games though. They could have simply ran out of keys and took it temporary down till they get more or something.

All of this Mass Effect talk reminds me I need to blow through the game real quick on casual to get a complete PC save file. I beat the game so many times on Xbox (I have all of the achievements) before I build my new PC last year. Either way I am getting ME2 on PC, but I would prefer to have at least one save file to transfer over.

Here's something I don't understand about "deluxe versions"- Back at the end of last generation, they started doing PS2 and XBox deluxe editions for $60, these versions had soundtracks and dev commentary and making of videos and what not. If I remember right, which I might not, it seemed like the general consensus was that these "deluxe" features would become standard in next-gen games, justifying the standard $60 console game pricetag. Obviously that isn't the case and now we pay even more for those features, what gives?

A) Gamers have no concept of value and B) gamers seem to love getting bent over by devs and publishers in the name of "supporting" them.

Yeah I was just reading through the NBR forums and saw that your P-7805u isn't C2Q compatible.

The best bet for mobile users is eBay and engineering samples. Everyone I know with a P-7805u has one.

We can also work out a great deal for my 2.93Ghz T9800.

Good old Cycles.
Bitch about the game's price and the lack of content...When really they should be bitching about their own lack of control >_>

The Godfather games are gone as well.

Open the CD tray. Place the new CPU firmly in the middle and close the tray. Reboot and you should now see the 2nd CPU.

They removed outrun? surprising, I know it's cheap without a sale anyway but it's a game people know, would have thought they would still be making a little money from the odd sale here and there.

OK, after doing this I see the second CPU listed as core2, however I think I might have broken something as I am seeing 'core1 = 12%' and 'core2 = 10%'. How do I get both CPU's to 100% power, my power cable will not fit into the DVD tray?

Weekend deal is up:

Serious Slam 66% off.

Edit: Beaten.

Must be pretty annoying for those that got it during the holiday sales, not expecting it to come down further so soon :lol

Eh, I bought it during the Holiday Sale and have no regrets. It was worth it for $9.99. The game is a blast to play in Coop and these sales greatly help the online community.

I don't disagree with that, but as graywolf said, it's kind like spitting in the customers face.

It's generally not a good idea to further discount games with a timed promotion so soon after another timed promotioned.

They should had went a few weeks discounting games that weren't discounted (at least heavily) during the sales before pulling stuff like this.

To be fair it's what.. 3.20 cheaper? Not exactly worth any stress.

Yeah it's not much, I just don't think it's smart business, they risk making people weary in the future.

New year, new complaining!

Not a spit in the face at all. The game did get a relatively large update this week, didn't it? Probably to put attention on it.

Also, it's not like Valve throws darts at a board with games and prices. Publishers have to agree to this stuff. And we know stuff is going to get cheaper than the holiday sale anyways.

that's kinda a spit in the face of us who bought it during the holiday sale...
What I'm getting out of this post is that for the next 6 months we're going to get endless "just got Torch'ed" complaint posts.

And then we'll get a 2010 version for whatever game does the discount dance to the 2010 sale.

Most weekend deals are always cheaper than the main sales like the Holiday one.

not always true, they did a deal on Tropico 3 just a week before the holiday sale

it was 33% but then during the holiday sale it went to 50% off

that one pissed me off more since it was a $10 difference, this one not quite as much since it's only $3

also the "daily deals" back around Black Friday they offered Ghostbusters for 50% off then 66% off for the entire holiday sale

six months? it's only been what two weeks since it was a daily deal for the holiday sale? that's why some of us are upset

if they had waited a month I probably wouldn't have cared as much, e.g. the daily deals during the early holiday sale that saw even lower prices during the full holiday sale (though still irked me a little) two months later and I won't care at all

Basically, I just belive that while you may have gone "man I could've saved __ dollars!" if you bought the game, you must have at least felt it was worth that amount of money or you would've waited on it. Or you just blind buy things which might be a mistake anyways.
