"Future Proof" has never been a thing

difference with console revision being that you can't play newer stuff

whereas here, you'll be able to, but better settle for 30fps and lower settings

I think that "Future Proofing" is true to a certain extent. Like buying a highend part could let you ride out for 5-7 years pretty easy. As in, your own will power to not upgrade would be a bigger hurdle.

I only bought the amount of RAM that I bought because it was so cheap.

Winner of the Enter the Gungeon raffle got called out for not redeeming the many games he won. It turns out he had 2 Steam accounts: his and "his brother's". All the games were redeemed on his "brother's" account.

This lead to us discovering he also had 2 GAF accounts. His previous account got added to the Modbot giveaways blacklist for abuse. He was redeeming 21+ games from a single giveaway and being nonchalant about it.

He ends up making a second GAF account to enter the giveaways again and seems to have entered twice when the blacklist option wasn't used. You can see it in a recent giveaway with both his accounts winning a game.

How in the world does someone win 21 games from a single giveaway anyway?

There was a huge list of games in the giveaway with a 24 hour throttle at the time. Dude was redeeming one game a day so the person giving away the game would get a giveaway receipt every day for 21 days straight. He got called out for being greedy by the raffler and all he said was "See you 2morrow."

... Dark Souls 3?

Is this something someone with nuuvem regional access could do for me?
not sure, unfortunately i can't personally offer to do it but maybe ask around?

i'm not sure if the extra 10% is because i already bought dark souls 2 off nuuvem, but the code is DARKSOULS10 so it's not like it's a unique thing

Moral of the story:

If you're going to go to the trouble of having two accounts, entering raffles with said two accounts, using them to reply to yourself... don't burn yourself by doing something as fucking stupid as grossly abusing a giveaway, bringing attention to yourself.

It's like leaving porn in the VCR. Surely you youngins know what that is, right? .... Right?

Sigh.

Is there any way to mod/change the button prompts for Big Picture Mode? I'm getting a wireless dongle to use my WIi U Pro controller and the A<->B and X<->Y buttons are reversed versus the Xbox controller.

Kind of disappointing Dark Souls 3 only ended up with a 90 metacritic. I was expecting at least a 95. Oh well. I guess these From Software games will continue to remain in this mediocre bubble of 89-92 meta score. Maybe one day they'll reach the upper echelon.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Launch Steam for the first time in a week...

Everything was updates

The sad thing is given the average review thread on gaf these days I can't tell if this is a joke or not

You know, that's why I like having 12030448553 games installed. When I start a Steam I like to see all the updates.

Dunno why. Tickles my fancy I guess.

when you have so many games and can't decide which to play, why not let your downloads page help you?

Gotta be honest here, as much as I'm digging ETG, I still prefer Nuclear Throne over it. Enter The Dungeon's methodical and exploration-focused gameplay (to a certain degree, of course, it's still a bullet hell of sorts) just doesn't feel as satisfying as NT fast paced flow; although on the latter the mechanics are more straightforward and even "raw", it's way more fun and compelling. Also, the "game feel" in NT is superior, the guns feedback is exhilarating, whereas in ETD I never felt like my weapons were having any impact on the enemy, they lack some sort of reaction. That might be just a pet peeve of mine, but really affects my experience with it.

I even feel bad about positioning them together tbh. Although they seem to be pretty similar at a first glance, their approaches to the rogue like/ bullet hell genre are so contrasting it's even hard to draw comparisons.

For launch, physical is better than digital. Day-1 delivery and 30% discount.

That's certainly been my experience, at least with UK prices. Most recently I noticed I could have picked up physical Street Fighter V at launch for roughly £20 less then its Steam price. Though I pulled out of paying even that in the end.

Preordering physical PC games (Canada only) during E3 nets you a 30% discount + lowest price leading up to launch. Xenoblade X for example accidentally went to $19 with an additional 30% discount on top.
