So I guess I haven't really been keeping tabs on Steam too much. But I saw Cold Steel in my Discovery Queue so I took a dive in to add to wishlist and there is some serious seedy shit on Steam it seems? Did it slip through the cracks or does Steam now allow full on porn games?

And yes, it is an actual porno game, light google research confirmed it. I'm not sure if it has been censored for steam release or something but it honestly looks pretty abhorrent.

Is there a way to stop this stuff from appearing in my queues and recommendations or anywhere really? It suggested it to me because I played and liked Rakuen (think To The Moon if you're not familiar). I feel like its an insult to Rakuen at this point.

Press the customize above the Next in queue button. Add Nudity and Sexual Content to filter out these type of games

Playing Unexplored, I think I found the worst floor in existence:

It's a subterranean lake area, with a few sealed buildings; it would be quite serene were the lake not filled with poison. There is poison gas everywhere. And some dark soul left chests everywhere, with 75% of them being mimics. Plus the occasional turret.
B48EE7D590DAF2A4557987E3A4958AFBBDDC6259
I had a magic poison resistance helmet to brave these green halls, but it was quickly overwhelmed. I eventually got stranded partway through the area, surrounded by poison gas, trapped in a safe room, my only company a former mimic that was enamoured by a torch until it caught fire and died. My only path forward, lacking in any long-term poison protection, was to start fires and temporarily clear the air as I dashed between buildings. I ran out of options and suddenly understood why the mimic was so fascinated by the torch... but I'm an adventurer, so I marched out into the green mist and let the poison claim me instead.

In retrospect, the floor was a nice break from the harpy swarms on every. other. floor. They're not dangerous on their own, but if there's too many they can swarm you very easily--they're quick, never alone, can stun you with their screech, and worst of all they open doors and ravenously seek out the source of any noise. Their constant screeches are also kinda annoying, too.

Hard mode doesn't joke around.

The dev cut out the porn scenes. So its just an "ecchi" game.

The publisher first developed his own games, then is now releasing hentai-games on Steam with the hentai-content cut out.
I personally think Valve should allow games aimed at adults. I mean even Witcher has sex-scenes.

No seriously, I legit cannot wrap my mind around there being a defense force for game-breaking, save-game deleting bugs that require a restart of the entire game, because 'but muh Metacritic average'.

I. just. can't.

Why can't he just replay the game again? Is it that big of a deal to play a game twice?

Isnt the game supposed to be 6 hours long?

Also if it really buged out at the end for him it makes him not able to review the game even dumber.

Just look up the last 10 min if thats the case and ignore it from the review and go 2 points down or something.

I mean in my mind you still get 80% of a great game?

The save file deletion isn't a bug tho, it's a feature in the game.

The bug apparently is that he couldn't pick up an time that he needed to survive making him die over and over again, triggering the aforementioned feature.

Not that I want to defend bugs like that mind you, just some clarification

Ban "Anime" and "Sexual Content". It is in the settings of the discovery queue:

Ah, you're right, I worded it poorly.

I have Sen 1 and 2 for Vita already and I'm working on Trails in the Sky the 3rd as of now, I'll probably hold off on any more expenditures for the time being though since I already own the games after all.

The game runs so much better on PC than on Vita though. And that's not counting that loading times are extremely short, andd the speedup feature. Well worth playig that version eventually.

Talking about Cold Steel, why does it have those easy levels dlcs? Does it mean that levels are harder to come buy in Steel than in Sky, or that shining poms are not available unless with those dlcs?

edited: also Steel is at 10K on steamspy as of now, I expected more tbh, seeing as it was at the top of global topseller list, oh well

Nah you probably still won't need to grind (don't know about Nightmare) but yeah, shining pins are dlc only here

Steamspy makes me bitter

Did anyone here buy Monolith?

I was wondering how well it plays with a controller.
It plays perfectly on a controller barring one little issue where KB+M is superior. One of the weapons in the game are floating saw blades that can do damage passively by colliding them into enemies or you can shoot them like any traditional weapon. On KB+M, you can change the angle of your ship freely without shooting, as pointing with the mouse and clicking are two separate actions. On controller, using the right stick is both angling and shooting, and such it's a tad more inconvenient to try and use them passively.

A minor thing really, outside of that it's just fine. Controller is how I play.

Man, FFXII really is killing my gaming life. From the day it released, I'm only playing that for a couple of hours each day, and still I'm plenty of optional stuff to do. I think it's the FF with more stuff to do in the whole franchise.

Yea it's definitely got both the longest story campaign and the most optional content, as well as the trial mode.

It's so densely packed, is incredibly fresh and unique (even today still) and has had amazing production values for its time.

It's a game that only could exist during the ps2 era.

Thank God for the turbo button tho.

Sounds good. I tried the demo some time ago and IIRC it didn't have proper controller support.

Just watched the ACG review, Hellblade looks right up my alley. Combat seems kinda eh but whatever. Definitely gonna pick this up at some point, seems there are still a few bugs to be squashed.

Hellblade was on my "Wait for a sale"-list but watching the Giant Bomb Quick Look and them saying it is sort of PunchOut-esque, moved it up a little bit on my list. Didn't see any trailer before so I thought it would have had a similar combat system like Enslaved or DmC which would've been appalling to me. Might be the first Ninja Theory game that I like and not just adore like Enslaved.

I agree. It's also sad to see how later chapters backtracked on some options which are common in FFXII.
In example you can take as many hunts as you want in XII, while in XV you can just take one each time, and the same applies with optional mission in XIII.
XII is long because it's filled with content, while later entries are long because of bad game design...and also XII's hunts are really good since you face enemies you won't see if you do the plot only, while XV hunts just throw at you several mobs you already faced undred times.

I didn't know XII and Tactics were set in the same world until after I started playing Tactics.
Matsuno is pretty good at world building.

Mikurden

Vagrant Story is also part of the that world

Sort of:
In 2011, Matsuno stated that he never originally intended for Vagrant Story to take place in Ivalice. As a result, any references he had made of Final Fantasy Tactics in Vagrant Story, as well as Vagrant Story references in Final Fantasy XII, only serve as "fan service".

so whats the word on Hellblade's lenght, more or less? 6 to 8?

Ascheroth

Reviewers mention anything from 6 to 11, so i assume it's 6 cos reviewers always overestimate
That's a pretty nice length. I have no time picking this up with all those Falcom games coming out left and right, but I might just grab it sometime during a sale.

This is a very good Twitter thread about "options are always good"

https://twitter.com/britishgaming/status/894888633710374913

It's only 30€ already, I honestly don't expect a sale any time soon
Which is why I said 'sometime' and not 'soon' :p
I'll be busy for the rest of the year just with Falcom games alone, not even counting the Humble Bundle games I have queued up at the moment.
And I won Pillars of Eternity yesterday, soooo.....

Good twitter thread.
