Nice list and links.

Jagged Alliance 2 is a great game in the X-COM formula. Somewhat older game though, so if you're disturbed by being able to see individual pixels, you might have a hard time getting used to it.

Jack Keane is a decent point-and-click with a pirate theme, although there's at least one "cat hair mustache" style obscure puzzle. It's humorous and fairly long (11 hours for me).

I can make your decision a bit easier, do not get Darksiders 2. It is a decided step back from DS1 is my opinion, and although DS1 was good, it wasn't amazing by any stretch.

I agree with you. Darksiders II is not a good game in my opinion. The combat is pretty good though.

I've been out of the PC gaming loop for about 6-7 years, and this is my first real Steam sale since picking up my newer laptop...I'm already feeling myself slipping down some terrible, terrible rabbit hole. So far I've bought:

- Fallout 3 GOTY
- Dear Esther
- Jagged Alliance 2 Gold pack
- Hotline Miami

And I've got the Steam iPhone app now, so I'll be obsessively checking throughout dinner tonight. What have I done? :(

EDIT: If I'm interesting in playing a Civ game and I haven't touched the series since the OG Civ 1, should I get 4 or 5?

I'm still flabbergasted that I can/'t buy the DLC because it's not available. It's only present on the GOTY edition (which Steam says I already have, even though I only have the regular version).
