Nice!
They don't sell the one I bought just a month or two back. You'd have to get the charger and batteries separately unless they come with it. Edit - scratch that, awful charge time - maybe this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0044U5BRE/
but this is the exact one I bought - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00O480CC0/
So jelly! Oct 16 can't come soon enough!
Ive never looked forward to a controller more than this ever
I remember being crazy stoked to get my hands on an n64 controller
You can check it out right now with an Xbox 360 keyboard, it's not limited to only the steam controller. It's unfinished at the moment, however. It's less of a pop up keyboard and more of a keyboard window, although the barebones nature of the menu suggests it's still a work in progress.
I see the option, but I can't get it to work. It crashes Steam when I select the optionTried it with Shadowrun Hong Kong and Divekick

Welcome to the new age of controllers - ones that can update:
Im definitely going to have to go ahead and purchase one of these, looking forward to reading more impressions.
Has there been any word as to whether or not it's possible to use the thing as the main input device for your computer as a whole? Like browsing the web and stuff with a steam controller because why not?
*cough* Wii U Gamepad *cough*
This may be slightly challenging, but is it possible to post some pictures of yourself holding it in different poses (thumbs on pads vs stick/buttons)? I'm sure it probably doesnt, but it looks like those lower horns would jab into the fleshy part of the palm.
Also, how comfortable is the final controller? Comparable to any particular console controller?
Are you streaming?
It's a pity Steam has to be running, but the other details sound good.
I'm getting so used to GOG Galaxy that I'm not looking forward to running all those games bootleg style in Steam. But at least their big picture library interface is improved recently. It's a pity Steam has to be running, but the other details sound good.
a demonstration of the different mouse and sensitivity settings:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyoGhIsd4Mc&feature=youtu.be
In the first part, the right pad is set to mouse and lowest sensitivity, then I flick from one side of the pad to the other with my thumb to show you how far it travels. Mouse mode doesn't have any spin, so as soon as you leave the pad, it stops moving.
Then I turn the sensitivity all the way up (on the steam controller, not in MGSV) and put it into trackball mode and do the same thumb flick.
The difference is dramatic.
I'm gonna play a full side ops mission in MGSV and record it and upload it. Hopefully I don't suck outloud haha.
I was hoping to use this to control my mouse in Windows from my comfy couch :'(
Settle yourself down, this is the PC, someone will make it work.Wait it doesn't function at all without steam on? Like if you booted a non-steam game it wouldn't register at all? I mean I didn't expect it to control my whole computer but that sucks!
