Oh. You are a big developer? Sorry, cant go to the aftershow party, because you are wearing sneakers:

Last time I was there the clubs in the major casinos (at least the ones I saw) required business casual*. I was short on free time due to the trip being work oriented so my knowledge on the particulars of Vegas clubs is spotty. Its not uncommon for clubs in other cities to have similar policies however. As "amazing" the developer is in the development world, they are just another schlub a club deals with on a daily basis. This isn't outrageous or shocking unless your talking about the hosts inability to account for club rules prior to booking it or alternatively their failure to impart club requirements to developers.

*To be exact, the actual text spent more time delineating what type of clothing was banned.

Well, I hate to say it but all those juror's are going to be biased in their own way hence they chose quite a few to balance it out, I don't see what's so wrong with him saying he didn't like Bayonetta 2 for whatever reason.

Even in a jokey sense that kind of terminology is offensive and bannable if pointed out to mods.

he didn't say that, tho, he outright said that he's biased, and hater too, that's not how judging works last time I checked.
I understand it could be a joke, but from standpoint of someone being in the jury, that's a tasteless joke however you look at it. ;)

Remember when Steam's most played games glitched and it showed games that weren't confirmed at the time? I wonder if you can program a request to Steam that would return to the sender the least played games at the moment.

Though probably every dev now is using codenames for the titles.

what is wtf about that? he's one of the jurors, obviosuly didnt like bayo 2

There is a clear difference from thinking a game is not as deserving than another to win a prize and having such an intrinsic hatred toward it that you have a visceral reaction at the though of it winning. That difference is key when considering if someone is qualified to sit on a panel of supposedly impartial judges.

Well, it probably is a tasteless joke considering I very much doubt he would have quit if it happened.

He shouldn't have mentioned it, but judging is biased no matter how you slice it.

I've been turned away for having sneakers at a club in Bahrain. They were really nice Diesels, but those guys gave 2 shits. I went back later with the proper dress code though and it was awesome. Me having sneakers there would have really been awkward due to the atmosphere of the place.

you're telling me a judge had a favorite game of the year and wanted it to win and has opinions on games? #aguyinthepresshasanopiniongate #wewantthemythicaljudgewithno"bias" #corruption #thefirerises

you don't shit on other candidates even if you want a certain game to win, there is difference between having an opinion (or preference) and being biased, especially after a game you wanted to win already won.

of course it is biased, we are all people and have our tastes and preferences, you just don't need to go around and shout out loud, hey, look I'm this biased! Impressed yet? (><)
That's like killing own credibility and not even caring about that. Oh well, that's a world we live in

Eh? That's a bit much, since when has that joke been bannable?

For a long time.

Not only is it a phrase with a terrible history associated with it, but it is generally used as a derogatory term against PC gamers.

An impartial judge should be impartial and see merit in genres he may not personally enjoy.

That statement not only makes him seem extremely immature, but also that he cannot be impartial and shows an obvious bias.

but making fun of "console warriors" as most of the thread was with the SF5 announcement is A-OK right grief?

but youre right, I was extremely offensive earlier. in fact, I would put it right up there with calling a black person the N word.

Well, yeah, I agree there is a professionalism issue to be had with the tweet.

I was just arguing the point, I didn't endorse those other issues.

I wasn't aware that "console warrior" was loaded terminology with a dark history that involved systematic murder of whole groups of people.

Interesting, I just noticed the price for Game of Thrones on Playstation Network is cheaper compared to PC version of the game, in fact it's "only" 25€.

It was 29,99€ when it was released but then Sony updated the price and put it down to the price you mentioned. I think there was even a thread mentioning the prices discrepancies If I'm not mistaken.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

hey Monk! Sorry I missed your message yesterday I was away from my computer.

Just wanted to say that it's good to see you on GAF again!

You would best ask that in the Sonic Community Thread, they might help you let go.

Maybe it's Stockholm syndrome

I personally think that the first Sonic Adventure is actually a good game. The only part I dislike is Big but it's so short that I don't even care. Knuckles sucks too but it's bearable, differently from SA2 .

What greatly helps is that each character has its own story so you don't have to stop your fun times with Sonic to hunt treasures or shoot some mechs.

It's a little rough around the edges but I can look past most of it because I have fun with it.

Considering the time it was released and that it's the first installment of the franchise on 3D I think it's a competent game, when I played it originally on Dreamcast everything blew my mind, then I replayed it 5 or 6 years ago on PC and I also enjoyed it but for some reason I'm having a lot of problems with the Steam version mainly the camera going bonkers and broken collision through a lot of the levels, funnily I don't remember facing these issues back in the day or I didn't payed much attention to it. Also playing it makes me wish for a good 3D Sonic game with huge levels with diverse paths, and a Chaos garden.

I still like Sonic Adventure, though the game is incredibly dated now, I felt the series started going down hill with Heroes rather than the Adventure games.
