Telltale's GoT is top seller on steam, in case nobody noticed.
The Crew is third, amazingly so

It is not a mess, in the dark you can see the divine glow emanating from his red nosed body

So, a day later how do we all feel about Steam Streaming?

I hopped around last night and watched a few minutes of people playing various games (Dark Souls 2, Civ 5, Binding of Isaac Rebirth), and was surprised at how nicely it worked in the client. Twitch is great, but even just viewing it I've had tons of technical issues.

I can't see myself doing any broadcasting of value, but it's nice it's there.

Can someone tell me when a broadcasting starts to broadcast? Is it when there is a viewer that it will start to broadcast?

Pretty great. The image quality was fantastic when I watched a friend's stream.

How did I miss every single Sonic Generation giveaway.. :(

not my thing and it can turn ugly really fast, as we've seen many times in the past. I plain detest idea of ability to see the desktop, what good can come from it? I can see it used only for evildoing, but it's nice feature to have for those that actually stream games, especially for review purposes.
I do hope that Valve will implement switching it off completely if chosen so, or is it there? from what I read it seems not to be.

I am sure the game will have unique equipment pieces one can wear somewhere down the time investment, but..I am not entirely convinced that highlighting the facial tech over other aspects of the game is the favorable (in my opinion).

Few of the single player RPG games I've played, facegen made the impact because there is only one character (as such) while playing and some of the games made clever use of it by tying the cinema moments or non-combat elements to showcase your personalized character.

In a MMO, I am not sure if they can dedicate such direction to showcase the characters face in a spotlight (while all the other social and MMO elements are warranted to be spammed onscreen).

Yeah, I wonder if they will at least license the tech out to other developers who make single player RPG's.

EVE online, at least the main game, actually has a similar issue. They built a detailed character creator for a MMO that emphasizes space ship based combat and interaction.

I think it's more like AC fetch quests than MMO. I play a lot of MMO, but DAI quests aren't similar as they're not on trails. Most MMO quests are on trails, the further you travel, the higher the level of the quests & enemies.

Urgh, hope the single play is ok then, I can deal with ignoring sidequests I guess =/

SP is awesome. Are there some shitty quests? sure, most games have them. But the sheer amount of content in this game is intense. I'm 25 hours in and have only touched a few of the locations (which are mostly massive). There is some aspect of 'grinding' needed to progress the story, but most of it can be achieved just by running around the world.

Without a doubt my GOTY. I do wish it was more 'rpg'y like DA:O, but oh well.

There's no strict option for turning it off completely, but one can select the option to only allow those they invite to watch, and never invite anyone. Functionally, that becomes the same thing.

Special sale badges and items.

When did they go live last year? A week before?

something like this, probably 5 days before or so, if I remember correctly

I could use it to easily stream the next time I'm writing a new GeDoSaTo plugin for a resolution-locked game.

Of course, I'd hope there won't be a next time.

I stand corrected! :)

I too hope that you won't need to do that and can instead play games ;)

Didn't realize until now that Telltale's Game of Thrones base price is now $30.

Good point, I'll hold off.

It is 6 episodes instead of 5 as well.

If i got the new lara croft game from Uplay I should get a steam key on its release date, right?

Hopefully so. I believe its going to depend on whe square give Ubi the keys. If they do so early for a preload, they should give it to us then.

Is there a reason to wait?

Yeah, the metagame. Usually crafting a badge will get you a summer/winter sale themed card (also available by taking part in the community vote) which you can use to craft badges and get "special" rewards etc. For the Summer Sale everyone got split into teams which could earn points by crafting badges, more for foils, and random members of the teams who contributed points won games from their wishlists. I'm assuming something like that is going to happen again so I'm saving my crafting for then.

Have any doubles? I got a few.....

I don't, unfortunately. Got my regular batch from drops and then just stuck a load of low buy orders on the market until I'd got the rest. I've got a full set of foils for Isaac (Original) and regular cards for Isaac Rebirth, STFU and Papers, Please.

When did they go live last year? A week before?

The Mysterious Trading Cards for the summer sale started dropping on June 10th, then turned into Steam Summer Adventure cards on the 19th when the sale started.

Well this was interesting, apparently buying multiple items for gifting generates 1 code from gog.

Well if anyone's interested in DRM-free, try your luck at this

Some random super hard platformer game. According to Steam reviews it's good too.
But it has demo so you can try it before entering if unsure.

Probably 7 days, so coupons expire before sale. They probably did something related to this last maintenance, because now it shows "Play" for Summer Adventure.

of course you are ... what else could you be watching? :p

there's not such thing as "too much porn" for you, is there? ;)

Both SRIV DLCs are kinda meh, but at least there's some creative, self referential stuff happening in Enter the Dominatrix. It really does feel like a what-if in regards to what SRIV was originally intended to be, and it's kinda clever about it. The gameplay is still nothing really new or better than above average, but it has heart.

Red Faction Guerrilla sure is popular all of a sudden. Maybe I should play it. I never did.

Worth it for the destruction stuff alone. It's a shame they didn't build on the open world stuff in RFA, but we'll always have RFG.

It probably wont get any cheaper during the Winter sale. Just get it now, if history repeats the Korra will be removed from the store after new year

I dunno man. Acti is the king of 50% discounts.
If they get rid of it, it won't be until January so why not wait?

yea, I just checked by my crafted badges before summer sale dates, and it was 8 days before the sale, but it shows my local time, so it's safe to assume 7 days in advance.

Is the US economy in the gutter or what? Game prices have been steadily increasing across the board, doesn't matter whether indie or AAA...
Also the $1 = 1€ rule need to die.
