Well, peak users was half of what BL2's peak users was, so in that respect it definitely bombed. It's always seemed like a stopgap style project though, so one would assume Gearbox had more reasonable expectations for it. Personally I never even made it through all the BL2 dlc, so it seemed silly to buy the new one before I did, even though I pre-ordered BL2 and loved it.

Have I ever told you guys the story of Uplay, me, and Black Flag?

It goes like this: I bought Black Flag from Steam, but ended up with the regular edition, not the gold edition. I contacted Steam, they refunded me, I repurchased the game, activated it, and everything seemed to be going fine... until Uplay came along. Uplay refused to recognize my gold key. So I contacted Ubisoft support. Ubisoft support de-registered my key and let me register the gold key.

I tried booting up the game. Of /course/ it didn't work. It would just hang there before the main menu, trying to log into Uplay forever.

The fix was this: create a new Ubisoft account. Lose all the unlocks and stuff from Initiates (not a big deal to most, but I'm a completionist). For a while, any time I wanted to play one of my Ubisoft games, I had to remember which account to log in to. If I forgot, and left one logged-in, I ran the risk of activating a game on my Black Flag account, not my regular account. Obviously that would suck.

Then along came a 'fix' for Uplay. Now, it would seem, Uplay logs in automatically. Which is great--I don't run the risk of accidentally logging into my Black Flag account. Problem is, I basically have to boot up the game (which means going through unskippable cutscenes and getting to an endless loading sequence), exit it, log out of Uplay, log back IN to Uplay under a different account, and THEN I can play the game.

Oh, and at some point, Ubisoft didn't want to get along with AMD drivers/control panel and I could only play Black Flag on my Nvidia-powered laptop.

Suffice it to say, Uplay is possibly the worst thing that's ever existed.

I think it is random, but you can manually edit the addresses if you want to change what is displayed as Modbot pulls the information from Steam's servers.

Because their achievements are on uPlay and apparently they can't be arsed to see if they can somehow have both Steam achievements and uPlay achievements, I think.

Ubi, generally, doesn't see the point since achievements are handled by Uplay. A couple of Ubi games offer both (Rocksmith 2014 and some F2P game).

I take all the good things I said back.

Steam says you've played a total of 2.4 hours. So apparently you didn't even like it enough to finish it.
And I'm pretty sure the game bombed hard enough to help tell Capcom to stop trying to westernize everything to increase sales.
Whether or not we'll get another Strider game now? I don't know... but if we do, hopefully they learned from this endeavor.

Point being: I think sales are abysmal enough that if people want to waste their money on the dumpster fire known as Strider 2014, they should go right ahead and do so.
(As much as I dislike Strider 2014, it isn't the worst game I've played this year... imagine that.)

Got the Banner Saga and Ground Zeroes from Nuuvem and that's it for me unless Metro LL Redux hits 5 euros. Don't think I'll be buying anything else untill REmake hits. Very few AAA releases caught my eye this year, besides Alien Isolation and MGS GZ I'm only interested in Far Cry 4, The Evil Within and Wolfenstein but I'll pick those up after I upgrade my gpu and the games are cheaper. Outside of the AAA space Banner Saga was really the only thing I had my eye on.
My attention is more on handhelds these days, having a blast with SMTIV, Persona Q and DanganRonpa 2.

A) there are a ton of people in that area that you can summon to help. People love offering help against those asshats
B) there's an NPC that you can summon to help split the 2 guys up, too.

I wish i knew the latter when i was doing a NG+ run because it took me almost 3 hours to beat them, and that was with me duping souls to get free level ups. I didnt wanna dupe, i didnt know about the NPC!
