The full game will presumably be free to play with a microtransaction store, like TF2, so it would be a beta invite before everyone gets the name.
Funny you mention it, mine didn't say beta anywhere, nor did it say 'hardware survey' or whatever, and it was tradable, not just giftable like some of the others have been.
It's all the same thing though really, it's not like they're going to charge for it anyway.

Ok, this is getting kind of aggravating. After day 2 all I've been getting is coal for every single gift. I haven't even seen a shitty coupon in ages! The last 9 gifts in a row were all coal.
It feels like they've ran out of coupons and games and it's just coal coal coal. Day 1 I was getting a mix of all 3

Then again if you guys want to take a chance at crafting a game, go ahead. I already got burned with a copy of Phantom Ops, one of the worst rated games on Steam for my 7 coals.

It's strange. I get to the confirmation screen without having paid anything over and over when selecting paypal as my payment method.
I would try my card directly but I'm a bit iffy about it
The trading one definitely didn't. I had traded several times before today but had to trade again to get the gift. I imagine the Steamguard will work though, it'd be...not good if they made everyone reset a security feature.

Summer sale had some nice deals but the prices have been fucking awful for the winter sale considering other distro services have stepped up their discounts dramatically. Arkham for 25 and Rage for 15 seem like the best ones so far, but Saints Row 3's price is downright offensive considering multiple places had that as its launch price.
Trading doesn't work as well when you basically own every game on steam that's under $20 haha. No one is going to trade you a copy of Skyrim or something in the $30-50 range for some coal

If you've got 30-50 coals someone might take up your offer, but yeah I too had most of the cheaper games that I wanted. I guess if you have a game you want and it's within the types of games circulating around, then I'd say it's wiser to trade your coal instead of risking getting coupons.
