All of us going on steam at the same time wont work. I propose we let the Americans go first, then the Euros, then the misc.

Killer is dead: Nightmare edition is 80% off. Very tempting.
Is this port good? Seems like a lot of the negative reviews are about the port being rubbish.

As others have said, the biggest issues can be rectified with really simple .ini tweaks. Will only take you a minute or two.

I was browsing through the discovery queue for trading cards, and the store would die during loading. Now it says I've looked through the entire queue, and I have no cards :(.

Guess I'll come back to this in a couple hours once things settle down.

Now that flash sales are dead, this has become okay advice.

How are the Devil May Cry's that are on sale? Anything wrong with the PC ports? I need at least one to "research" for a game dev project.

Undertale for free?! Bought that right away.

I'm kidding guys. Everything is loading for me now, looking through the list.

Everyone says Undertale is awesome, so I have to get it.

I thought I saw it be more expensive because the main page said it was CLP$ 9.500 before the sale and now it says that the normal price is CLP$ 18.300 but after I opened the page to check it says that the normal price for just the game is CLP$ 9.500 and CLP$ 18.300 was the normal price for the Legendary Edition, the main page now show the price for the LE.

Yeah, it went back to normal last time I saw. I normally wouldn't have said something about a price change in the first few minutes of a Steam sale, but the fact that it was the base price combined with the fuckery of companies like Activision has me tuned into it.

Can we continue the meta-discussion from the other thread as that one is now dead?

I think that doesn't solve the problem that motivated the move to community in general. We want the default front page to have an influx of new content and to be a good source for people who want to know what's going on. If the default front page is all megathreads -- see SomethingAwful's gaming forum for what this looks like -- then we're not getting that, even if there's a switch that some small percentage of users will use to clear things up.

Like always I want to reiterate that I think that the Gaming Side (and OT) moves so fast that it most like wouldn't end up like SA, especially with rules like New Threads for New News (nor did it in the first place, which is why I think that whole move was misguided or premature at best).

Look at the gaming side right now: there's news threads, few "what's your favorite threads" and usually most popular ones, OT's. What happens when a OT gets too big/old? Off to the community you go. What happens to those threads? Few hardcore fans stay, most just forget. Proposed solution has always been "subscribe to the OT's you are interested in". Yeah, that works real fine for the chosen few who were there before the banishing. Boom, you got a slow niche community that will stay a niche community 'til the end of time until it dies completely. Funniest thing is that Community looks exactly like the situation it was supposed to solve: same threads always on top.

Everything is down. Meh, with no dailies there is no incentive to buy anything right now. I think I'll wait for 4th of Jan.

Pinball FX2's latest DLC table, "Balls of Glory", is 50% off.
Pinball Arcade's Season 3 Table Pack is also 50% off.
Bioshock 2's Minerva's Den is 80% off, a new low.

Can only imagine the beating Enhanced Steam is getting now. Keep calm jshackles!

Obviously the changes I made to the API that were pushed out yesterday are helping, but only in the sense that it's allowing more capacity before going down. Once the "initial rush" is over with, things should be back to normal.

DMC4 ports are oustanding, the Special Edition has three additional playable characters. DmC is also a good port, but the PC version is outdated compared to the PS4/XB1 re-release. DMC3 port is dogballs.

Can't even get to my wishlist right now. Will Steam ever get enough servers to cope with the initial sale rush?

DMC3 is a pretty bad port.

DMC4 (both the original and SE) are amazing ports.

DmC technically is a good port but lacks many of the balance and gameplay changes from the console re-release that significantly improved the game. Some of it can be remedied through mods but most are not possible.

DMC3 port is kinda poo, vanilla DMC4 has GFWL.

DM4SE and DmC are pretty good ports i believe.

I don't think DMC4 ever had GFWL and it certainly doesn't have it now.

Can you people stop using it for a while so I can actually buy shit. Fucking window shoppers killing the database. :P

No discounts on Ubi stuff again. I am guessing they are just doing one day sales again. WTF?

found out about Lifeless Planet from some thread on here a week or so ago; thought it looked super cool; 50% off ($9.99). totally gonna grab that

I'm always surprised that people haven't learned to wait an hour or two for the dust to settle at the beginning of Steam sales. Without fail the servers will be dying, tons of sales will be incorrect, etc. Yet people seem surprised by this every time.

Another year, another Winter sale without a metagame/game to keep me interested.
Will check out some of the deals I guess
