The Walking Dead S1 is not working at the moment. Stuck at the Connecting (to Telltale servers) at the moment. Tried everything and still nothing.
How wonderful with single-player story driven games that require official server connections to start...

Far Cry 4 randomly started downloading 1.4GB of data. Anyone know why? Last news is from a few days ago, and it downloaded the DLC then.

New DLC for Season Pass owners.

Edit: Oh, to follow up on my CPU troubles mentioned earlier: I reverted back to 3.6GHz and haven't had any trouble since, so it seems my CPU is fine. The cooler probably came a wee bit detached from the CPU when I was moving my stuff out from my old Eleven Hundred and into the H630.

beaten metroid zero mission

pretty cool game, liked it better than fusion. that zero suit part was super cool, that couldn't have been there on the NES verison, could it?

this being my third 2d metroid game, tho, now i'm kind of tired of the whole get all the same powers, fight all the same monsters thing. i'm hoping the prime series is a little less formulaic

i gotta go buy that sensor bar, this week for sure

I liked this. You bring up a great point in the whole "if it can be skipped, then is it really necessary?"
thanks :>

Managed to win battle on chapter 7 of Valkyria because the superpowered Selvaria gost stucked between the tank and a rock or something. All my squad except the tank and Rosie was destroyed anyway :D
rosie rocks

Anybody here who wanna try Dungeon of the Endless ? I didn't even know the game had mp when I bought it.

Also, is Dunder still only trading to his fl ?
sorry, don't wanna bother him directly

Wow, that AO Rating thread went shit FAST.

I know. I was expecting a little more discussion on what this means for Steam in the future. Would they backpedal and remove it once again, possibly losing face since Gabe himself got it back on the servers? Will it mean a precedent has been set, or will they start looking at AO-rated games on a case-by-case basis?

No, everyone wanted to discuss the content of the game and throw Godwin's Law all over the place. Disappointing.

Yeah, there COULD be a interesting debate. But there probably won't unless they take a new mod in whose whole task is to watch this whole discussion.

Would I be a dick if I asked about some choice...quotes?
no need to mention who posted it

Please, take some:

do you really want to support these neo-nazis?

If they make a game I want to play, sure.

If this game will be any good, I don't see why not.

If the game is fun sure.

--

Really? So if ISIL releases a really good MOBA you're down for that?
No because I dislike MOBAs.

If ISIL happened to make an Uncharted game, I'd buy it.

--

Wait, doesn't the beloved Nathan Drake also kill all sorts of minorities in his games?

--

Hitler created some dope paintings, you know.

Morals are subjective. Furthermore, I reserve my morals for things more significant than videogames.

lol oh dear

hatred is such a strange thing cos the developers seem so confident and chill about everything

you'd think the guys making that kind of game would be insane

it's an interesting thing too cos i really have to wonder, what would happen if it's fun? will it being completely morally rotten and deprived of any sort of attractiveness break that? what if its mechanics are great but simply killing people is so disgusting you don't feel like playing it?

i'm guessing the game will be pretty shit so those questions will remain unanswered and really i dunno if they're questions i really cared for before this game suddenly existed but still, such a strange phenomenon for lack of a better word

does the key from GMG of RE HD come with the sound track ?
because there suppose to be separated key

Code:
License Resident Evil / biohazard HD REMASTER (44979):
 - State : Active( flags 0 ), CD Key
 - Apps : 304240, (1 in total)
 - Depots : 304242, (1 in total)

Same package as steam store, so it's single key.

How would they lose face? If their current policy is not to allow AO games on the service, I would guess they will probably give the devs the opportunity to edit and resubmit for an M rating, and if that fails the game will likely be pulled. It's the same thing that happens with AAA games, I don't understand why greenlight titles would be any different.

Don't understand why you quoted those of us that wanna play the game.
I don't have so much a problem with people wanting to play the game, but with people answering the question of "Would you buy from Nazis" so easily with "Well, if it is fun."

I'm not sure if they are going to resubmit.

"I would prefer to get a standard M+ rating, because with AO we will have problems to get to consoles in the future, but on the other hand I think you guys (our fans) would be disappointed with it," the Destructive Creations developer said.

The game is only on Greenlight. That means nothing for an eventual release since submissions are still approved manually.

It seems to me like the devs expect they won't be getting on Steam anyway and are going all out with a "too violent for Steam" narrative.

EDIT: I see it actually has been Greenlit, but that still doesn't guarantee a release.

i find it hard to believe that the hatred devs will not try to tone down the game so they can actually recoup their money

i mean i get that these guys may have massive """"""artistic integrity"""""" but still can't imagine them choosing not being able to sell their game over toning it down a bit

which would maybe kind of render the whole thing null since now it's just another game shaped by the system or whatever

i don't know much about anything, but sounds to me like they're kind of fucked, which i guess is fitting since there's no way that game will be anything but garbage

Well, this would actually very difficult to pass by. Pirate Nazis could be very exciting.

Pirate Hitler: "Arrr! I hate the jewels!"
lol what the hell

Hatred was greenlit shortly after Gabe had its Greenlight page reinstated. Regardless of whether or not games are now greenlit automatically upon reaching certain milestones, if Valve didn't want the game on Steam I imagine it would have told the devs as much already and yanked the "This game has been greenlit by the community" banner given a month has passed and people are still expecting it to release. The situation is quite interesting though as Valve has backed itself into a bit of a corner by historically disallowing the distribution of AO-rated games only for its most senior employee to lay down an executive ruling that would see a later-AO-rated game greenlit, which leaves two possibilities: Hatred is released on Steam and paves the way for other AO-rated games with sexual content no more than mildly explicit or Valve cops a bit of egg on its face by denying its release despite Gabe's earlier actions.

Steam was forced to take it after some backlash for denying it.

Yup. All the Scholars pics Bamco has shown look about as flat as the vanilla game does. I'm curious what they do with the dx11 version in the end though.
i personally don't care too much about the graphics part, i just want the new gameplay and lore

to me dark souls 2 looked pretty great already

nah, i don't think this is too stressful for valve. they already corrected their mistake by allowing the game on steam and if the game doesn't fulfill the requirements to be sold on steam then it doesn't matter what happened before.

only way valve comes bad out of this to me is if they actually go ahead and sell it

Buy HuniePop then.
wait if it's like a whole game of hysterical teenagers calling each other bitch then i just might

From one of the first released reviews
"If you’re looking for a breath of fresh air or just a challenging puzzle game, not only does this game manage to nail both of these needs, but also rewards you with porn too."

"The dialogue is witty and incredibly believable; the majority of what the characters say could be lifted directly from a conversation you’d overhear in your general day to day."

"My penis grew three sizes that day."

zkylon

Yeah, see my edit.

your edit doesn't change much tho :p

i just disagree that saying sorry we don't sell ao games will make valve look bad

it's not like gabe personally championed the game or whatever. gabe was just like hey we messed up, be back on greenlight and stop bothering me while i'm playing diamonds golf

ed: and you edited this post too. wtf saoirse you're worse than me

Ah, I thought you were saying that Valve isn't under any obligation to sell the game despite Gabe all but greenlighting it himself. I don't think a backtrack would make Valve look bad, but it would lose face a bit considering the matter could be boiled down to, "Yes, Hatred is fit for release on Steam... oh, wait, not it isn't." As I said in the other thread, though, the AO logo being on Valve's CDN and the reporting options differentiating between "adult content" that's not gated and any sexually explicit content strongly suggests to me that AO-rated games with mild sexual content are okay now or at least will be.

Welp. Just ordered gtx970 Asus STRIX version. And figured that I should bump up my ram to 16gb while I was at it.

Good thing there aren''t any new games I need to buy in the near future because, you know, money.

what's cdn?

and it'd be super ridiculous for hatred of all games to be the one that ushers the new era of pornography on steam

I kinda wish there are lego building games in Steam

I expect Microsoft to release Minecraft on Steam at some point this year.

well the witcher 2 was pretty explicit so "mild sexual content" is already there

Yeah, I know, but it's not rated AO. I made that distinction because even if Valve does allow AO-rated games, the "Contains pornography" option means sexually explicit titles would still be a no-go.

Well, founder and major owner, senior employee isn't really accurate.

Releasing Hatred doesn't force Valves hand on any other games nor does it force them to change their stance on sexual content. Furthermore, Valve can use the AO rating as a reason to bar the game from release. Gabe's issue seems to be with employees arbitrarily banning unrelased, or at least unrated, games they didn't like.

Softcore porn at best. Penetration is assumed not explicitly depicted.

Well, founder and major owner, senior employee isn't really accurate.

"Most senior employee" as in "the person in the highest position of seniority".

Releasing Hatred doesn't force Valves hand on any other games

I'd argue it does when there are games that cannot be distributed precisely because they were rated AO. Valve allowing for special exceptions would invite a lot of questions, especially considering the company has a history of changing/introducing policy rather than making unique cases. But again, I believe Valve's stance against AO-rated titles either has been or will be changed -- I don't think Hatred would be an exception to a rule but rather the first result of that rule being modified.

nor does it force them to change their stance on sexual content.

I didn''t say it would. I don't expect that to ever change, frankly.

Edit:
Furthermore, Valve can use the AO rating as a reason to bar the game from release.

I know. That's why I said Valve stands to look a little foolish if the AO rating does the game in -- that it was later denied distribution not because of its actual content but rather a label.

Gabe's issue was with employees arbitrarily banning unrelased, or at least unrated, games they didn't like.

I don't think so. I mean, that could be part of the equation, but he wouldn't have reinstated it without also disagreeing with the official reason given to the devs (implicitly that it's too hateful/violent and therefore unfit for release on Steam).

(I'm done tweaking this post now, I promise!)

I guess it was probably when cat paradise was released.
