Yeah it's not the best system. The way levels are unlocked at story progression points, abilities are staged around the Crystarium pretty much mean every player will unlock the same abilities in the same order and unless you grind it out towards the later half of the game at rough the same time. That and the final tiers and abilities are locked off until you've beaten the final boss. But hey it has a 20 hour 'tutorial' so at least you know how to use those few scant abilities and limited Paradigms you have at your disposable through constant repetition.
My first time through way back when I was skipping the majority of battles if I could sneak a path through as I was already already at the maximum level of abilities with nothing left to unlock and outside of bosses battles were over pretty quick until Chapter 9 or so. Even doing that I still had plenty of CP when new Crystarium levels unlocked to get the first ability in most folks best classes.
I'm just going to give in and buy them come 4th May if they're not on offer.

I wish Microsoft would always make one final service pack for their OS' to bundle up all the various patches and fixes so I wouldn't have to integrate that shit myself (or have 100+ updates after a fresh install).
There are a couple of set places that can break a man in Dark Souls. I think Gargoyles is the first one of those, especially depending on your build. Don't ignore str stat if you plan keep using that axe, or similar weapons since it scales with that.

That Rockstar reply was like 8 days ago. I thought there were some new developments.
Yeah it would be nice to get a finalised version or even like XP got with all 3 service packs in the last release like some OS of the Year Edition. Many moons ago when I didn't have to pay for OSes and got them from work via their Enterprise licence you would be able to get up to date latest Windows builds via FTP. I think that kind of stopped come Windows 8 but in 10 you have a separate section to download the latest build (both on a fast or slow ring depending how buggy to how immediate you want your features) to actual updates. Saying that the latest retail discs for Windows 8.1 with a October manufacturer which I installed on 2 machines over crimbo were missing months and months of security updates.
The thing is that's still just a link to the same forum post by a Rockstar employee from 8 days ago that countless other sites have been reporting on. No one has contacted the press, the press haven't contacted Rockstar and if they have no one from Rockstar has said anything to them directly. Just the same sites spewing out the same info with little to no work of their own done, comically late as well from PC Gamer too. Really shows how redundant the mainstream press are these days unless it's about marketing or messaging. Good quality articles or outlet interaction to news pieces are too thin on the the ground compared to 'news' aggregation and filler content but it's a two way street that requires publishers to want to cooperate too which they seldom do.

X-Blades is pretty meh. Story is garbage as fuck and combat is the same all over again with defeating waves of generic enemies and then proceed to more waves of generic enemies. You should play the sequel, Blades of Time, much more enjoyable.
That doesn't sound like something that will survive to consumers, unfortunately.
I installed the dev preview of 10 on my laptop briefly, but it wasn't running all that hot. The laptop is old shit though (Dell Latitude E6400 from '08), but hopefully once it's ready for consumers it would run a bit better. There were also some weird 'hey this setting is locked, contact system admin' even though I am the system admin, but maybe that was also dev preview feature.
I have a thing against playing sequels without playing the original.
