Yeah, the developer added a gift copy to the store and retail subs not all that long after the game released in what was ultimately a futile attempt to increase player numbers.

All keys do that. It was the developer's attempt at populating the game. It failed, no one plays it.

On another note. I've been listening to Hatoful Boyfriend OST since O'Dwyer made a let's play many months ago on gamespot. There's some catchy stuff:

I won many back when the contest first started. I'm guessing not many were participating so winning codes came easy.
It seems to be back to that since they took out prepaid cards as a prize.
I'd hope so. It's great to see him still out there trying to get up a population. I got the game a little while back and just installed it last night in an attempt to organize my backlog after a weekend of getting immersed in Dota and feeling dirty afterwards. I got it in a bundle a while back after the 2 for 1 thing started. If I recall, the game was also spitting out a free key to anybody waiting too long for a game. The developer has tried a few things like this that seem to be genuine attempts to get people to actually play the game, even if not pay for it.

This game is poop. Poop from my butt. I didn't pay anything for it and still feel ripped off.
3/10 - Still better than Watch Dogs though.

This is a turn based rogue game that has an isometric perspective. You have to constantly keep moving to the right because a darkness keeps creeping in from the left.
The Good
+ 8 Classes to fit your play style. Knight, sword master, hunter etc. Obviously each one has their own unique strengths and weakness along with their own stat growth rate.
+ Different modes offer players interesting new dynamics to the world. I.e Better weapons but harder enemies
+Different levels of difficulty. The easiest difficulty level stops at a certain distance, however the later difficulties can be much longer.
+ Lots of secrets to find out, giving the game a lot more depth than it appears to
+ Randomized Levels
The Bad
- The game can be frustrating, especially if you get a bad world generated.
Conclusion
This game is surprisingly addicting. At first it doesn't look like much but the more you play it the more it grows on you. You quickly realize that strategy is involved depending on the class your playing. The fact that you are forced to keep moving means you are going to have to make some tough decisions. Given the price point, this is probably one of the better deals you will find.

It's really a relic of the TV/Movie industry licensing style and the way that every form of media was negotiated separately. The difference is, even though Hollywood is notorious for fraudulent accounting, they do actually pay people royalties pretty consistently, whereas the game industry is barely based on royalties at all. If anything I wonder if the license holders know the game industry can't be trusted to pay correctly which results in the really short and limited licenses and contracts.
If you email them they will fix the broken card and probably tell you how to redeem the other one. I got a response today about my broken cards from an email I sent yesterday. Just be sure to include the codes you got via text.

Edit: According to comments AdBlock prevents you from seeing it but disabling adblock didn't fix the issue for me using Firefox.Going to try again on another browser. Same issue on Chrome with no adblock. Isn't sending emails either, probably over capacity.
Anyone have an opinion on the various Mafia II DLC? I started playing the game and was really enjoying it before I left for the summer. Is any of it story content worth the $2.50?
