Cook, Server, Delicious?
I'd prefer COOK, SEVER, DELICIOUS myself. ;P

I hope you all receiving Cook, Serve, Delicious! now play it. It's a very nice game. It's not like other games I usually play on Steam.

Winning KiD would make my fucking week, having spent a good deal of cash on the PS3 LE last year and being completely broke right now it's hard to justify a double dip until it hits a sub 10 euro price.
Love the game, it's so awesome.

Good luck -- and the game is even better at 60fps. I wonder if I have any of those webm links kicking around still...

Interesting list of Kickstarter games Stumpokapow. Have you done one of these for Early Access games?

I did post a thing a while ago where I went through all of EA and picked out everything that was remotely interesting to me and gave some impressions of if it seemed abandoned and what the reviews were like and stuff, but nothing about the extent to which they've been able to deliver on promises.

The other problem is that Early Access games that get promoted are no longer in Early Access, so I wouldn't see the successes, just the failures and ongoing projects. And even some of the failures could presumably be pulled from sale, so I wouldn't see them.

Last bump, definitely, I'm on my way out the door...
Good luck and whomever wins, make sure you do the 60fps fix. :D

i considered doing a lttp but nobody will give a shit anyway, it's without a doubt in my top 10 of last gen if we're only considering console games
when almost everybody was drooling all over cover based third person shooters, capcom made an over the top coop tps with emphasis on movement, big guns and giant robots (you can even merge two of them with a pal to make a mecha-tank and steamroll everything)
we may never get another lost planet on that level though (or another lost planet full stop)

and now webmpocalypse (vids under 15mb, sound)

i wanted to get more gameplay footage but surprisingly the last chapter is pretty tame in terms of possibilities and the cutscenes are batshit insane (when it's the opposite for most of the campaign)
also, look who you unlock once you clear the game :

Been playing Rogue Legacy and been having a blast with it so far. Game makes for good fun in between the more serious gaming time of Dark Souls and CS:GO. Just beat the first boss and now exploring the forest area. All the little traits always mix things up in interesting ways.

We don't have alternate universe time machines, so we can't say to what extent Kickstarter was necessary versus useful in lowering risk or expanding scope versus just a cash grab compared to a reality without Kickstarter. It's telling that you uncritically accept that those three games could have existed without Kickstarter, but not that FTL needed Kickstarter, and the reason for the distinction is basically "because the devs said they couldn't exist without kickstarter" versus FTL which "was shown in a magazine".

The point is, the game had been in development for years before the Kickstarter, was largely finished before the Kickstarter, and was released mere months after the Kickstarter. This applies to plenty of other "successes" as well, like Giana Sisters, even Divinity: OS. FTL no doubt got a lot of buzz and probably a lot of improvements because of Kickstarter, but it wasn't created by Kickstarter funds and I think anyone who thinks the game only exists due to Kickstarter and their backing is being disingenuous at best.

My point in all this isn't that Kickstarter is bad, it's that very very very very few if any games have successfully gone from essentially nothing to finished with only their Kickstarter backer funding, it always costs much more and usually ends up taking longer. Projections aren't realistic, and there's no transparency when it comes to cost, even when there is transparency during development.

There's lots of Kickstarter successes, absolutely. Shadowrun Returns, Banner Saga, Shovel Knight, you listed plenty. But there's a huge difference when it comes to buying into a Kickstarter between a game that already has years of development and funding, and a game with nothing but an idea.

two ETS2 bundles... lol. which to go for?

The ETS2 bundle gets you the game for less, but humble sim bundle includes a bunch of other fun things to play. However, the game + big DLC (going east, adds ~1/3 to 1/2 more map) have been cheaper during steam sales

But the bundle on Bundlestars also contains other games, such as the Scania game which is supposed to be good.

My only suggestion is to become friends with the Spelunker Class.

Brigmore Witches still only 50%? Fuck you bathesda

Oh and another MMO that only comes to steam when their initial numbers dwindle (like FF14), great. Really need to stop buying mmos when they come out. At least I skipped Wildstar

it's a pretty decent deusex-like

it didn't blow me away as much as i hoped for, specially because the story is imo really weak (tho universe and presentation are fantastic), but also because some ue3 constraits got on my nerves as well as some other lack-of-modularity design decisions, but for the most part is a pretty good game

i heard the dlc is great too

LP2 is kind of a mixed bag for me. It controls a lot better than 1 and looks waaaay better especially with the varied locales and different Akrids (Especially the huge boss ones). It was the lack of story and focus on co-op that sullied me a bit and I even played a couple of hours of it with mates and we still didn't have a clue what was going on in the cutscenes (doesn't it play out in 2 different directions some levels?). Didn't get into MP but it was a bit spares when I had a look in a couple of years ago so don't know what it's like now. Might give it a shot again if I can enlist my merry men again. Though having Frank West as character unlock might get me playing regardless.

You know how it goes. Big publisher or ambitious dev thinks they can pull numbers on their own and don't need Steam and their cut they take to make a success of things. Then as the shit hits the fan after the initial subs run out and numbers drop they go crawling back to papa Steam to keep them in business until they have to weigh up going F2P.

I just finished Resident Evil 4 again for the first time in 10 years(?) and am now interested in playing more. So, how good is the Steam version of Resident Evil 5? Any glitches? Is it connected to GFWL?
