I didn't make use of the garbage dump rule, so yes, claiming something from that list will impose a cooldown, the length of which is explained here:

Well, first, just because a giveaway isn't edited immediately doesn't mean it's drawn for. See above. Second, there are a variety of reasons why you might not have won. Finally, ModBot has a "throttle" that prevents you from winning games back to back to back to back. You need to wait a little while between wins. This means that if you just won something, you will need to wait a minimum of 15 minutes to win again. Please do not send requests to inquire whether you are throttled; police yourself by choosing not to win dozens of games a week. Be a nice person.​

Sometimes it just takes a long time for cards to drop, seems to depend on Steam's servers so it isn't reliable. Getting foils doesn't affect anything except the contempt of people who have gotten fewer foils than you.

That said, I think they'd sell better when an event is going or during the buildup when the "mystery cards" are dropping. I mean, that's the best time to craft badges since you get cards instead of coupons, and crafting a foil gets a foil event card.

played it for like 20 minutes and at least the initial impression is that there is no real strategy to it, it feels like everything you do is reactionary and i've replayed this hostage thing like 4 times already

imma give it a new shot tomorrow but very weird

Did you play on normal or easy? Easy is still difficult, but a little more forgiving than normal mode.

Before I head to bed, I should mention that there is a little bit of strategy to things, in the first chapter at least. You've got to balance out keeping the guards from getting closer (an action that you can do allows you to see their movement constantly, it's really helpful), the hostages from trying to escape, and the keep the security strong enough so the data isn't hacked by the guards. There's a bit of strategy, but there's definitely so much luck involved that it kinda outshadows it.

Unfortunately is too hot to play it, free weekend or no, I would be tempted to buy it now. Is it region free by chance?

I was considering installing it and pulling a Saints Row IV, but I saw it has multiplayer achievements so I'll just play Love Live instead focus on the games I can 100%.

well it's still too early to tell and i can say i'm disgusted with myself already so i guess the game got that thing right

i think that if the game is so easy to lose (one time i just got randomly kicked out of the system after 3 turns) they should've probably made it easier and faster to interact with hotkeys and just skip dialogue with spacebar, make it so that corridor camera is hacked by default. something.

yeah i figured i'd try normal first but i might lower it if i keep having trouble

Just finished my first playthrough of Arkham Origins Blackgate, and it wasn't too bad. Really, my only complaints are that dropping down never works, the second phase of the Catwoman fight was absolutely ridiculous, and getting 100% is a pain, since you have to play it at least 3 times. Other than that, it was pretty solid. If you enjoy Batman and/or Metroidvania, I'd recommend it... If you get it on sale for $5, that is.

You lasted longer on normal than I did. I gave up after three tries, just didn't feel like it was worth it.

You're welcome. I think that Absolution is a flawed experience, but the PC version is really solid and the bits where it includes proper planning, preparation and execution are quite excellent.

It's the running away and fighting groups of enemies bits that fail.

Ah, cool. Yeah from what I gathered it's basically a playable, competent game. Just don't always expect a "Hitman" game every level.

I agree, honestly I don't think it's that bad, aside from the terrible map.

At this point I'm convinced that my not purchasing the Debut 3 bundle is going to haunt me forever, with it receiving retroactive bonuses additions just as a taunt.
